Brilliant!

Thanks for the help guys! I'll try to consume more natural proteins but will stick with the shakes as well :)
-
Goal is 1775 but that depends if I hit my 2500 calorie burn goal for the day which doesn't happen every day.
-
I'm not a vegetarian - maybe it is high carb consumption  I rarely cook which is the problem. When I do, or rather when my husband does, we get a good dose of protein on top of the shake (which I will need to look up your powder - I just use the cheap Body Fortress stuff)! I also follow 1400 - 1700 calories per day.
-
Not if someone doesn't exercise and just sits around all day. If I ate 2000 kcals a day and didn't exercise, I'd be over 50 calories daily according to my TDEE, which would put on pounds.
-
Wow. Sucks to be you. Don't hurt yourself, now!
-
Hmm...I'm of the mind that DOMS doesn't dictate whether you're pushing hard or not. I think I'm doing fine. Not totally unsore...just a good amount of it :)

I'm doing an HLM routine 3 x per week. I figured I'd throw 30 DS into the mix since I've seen amazing results from others.
-
I guess my question was a bit inaccurate. I should have asked, is my routine okay without rest days? I know we all need rest but I figured my rest would be at work (and when I sleep obviously).
-
I'm in the same boat. My husband bought me a bar pad - works wonders. Though I know it's a bit controversial to use one from the big lifters. But I think it works just fine!
-
Yeah okay. Anyone else?
-
I started Sunday. Good stuff.

I've been weight lifting for the better part of 8 weeks now. Just graduated to an HLM routine (Heavy lifts, Light and Medium 3xweek). I get my routines from muscleandstrength.com. Really cool info there. I'm no expert but I can try to help anyway I can on your journey towards become stronger :)
-
I just started an HLM routine yesterday. I did OHP on dumbbells - do you feel dumbbells vs. barbell are different in terms of ease of use? I suppose that's what is meant by "strict OHP"?
-
lol - add ya! Good luck on your goals!!
-
If you're still taking people, I'd love to join.

The reason why you can't stay under, in my opinion, is because your body needs fuel. I honestly don't think it's healthy eating under 1200 or even at 1200. Especially if you exercise. So I'd rather stick with those of the same mind :)

I am barely on day 2 today. Realized I had this DVD (probably purchased it years ago) and figured, heck, maybe I should DO it! lol Good luck on your goals!
-
I know I shouldn't, but I hop on the scale daily, first thing in the morning in minimal clothing. But I only weigh in on Saturday (or try to anyway).
-
I go 4 or 5 days per week. M/W/F = Total Body Weight Lifting - 45 - 50 minutes T/TH/S = HIIT for 20 minutes
-
Thanks for asking this question. It's so distracting to have those damn ear buds fall out of your ears at a peak time during your workout. Will check out the Yurbuds as well!
-
I use a BodyMedia armband because I'm a control freak and need to know how much I'm burning for the entire day. Yeah, I agree, MFP does overestimate...big time.
-
Erm, I disagree. It's not "all about the amount of work your put in". Just because someone doesn't burn 700 calories in one session doesn't mean they are working any less. It may depend more on your size. Of course a heavier person is going to burn more than a lighter person. Just wanted to point that out.
-
Yep :drinker:
-
That's a lot of calories burned on just doing strength. On average, according to my BodyMedia, I burn about 150 to 200 calories for a 45 minute circuit. Then there's the after-burn which I don't totally keep track of but is in the range of 75 - 100. Might need to recheck your HRM.
-
Seems a bit high to me. I have a BodyMedia LINK and if I don't do anything all day (but sit a desk at work), I will only burn about 1,800-1,900 calories which mirrors my TDEE.
-
Great troubleshooting tips, thanks! I agree, I do need to switch it up. I'll definitely try that. Not my goal, per se. But I'd rather do HIIT than steady state cardio. And lifting on my 3 other days. I just figured I'd be able to move up to say, 45 seconds on, 1.00 off and so on. But if I can't manage to stay consistent…

I just created a station with "Five Finger Death Punch" on Pandora. Now that will push you to go harder during a workout!
-
I actually felt this way when I first got a personal trainer many months ago. Before, I never really pushed myself. My PT wasn't sympathetic..."no pain, no gain". It won't be easy. But you can't stop - otherwise you'll never get over the sickness you feel. Your body is going through a change, some people feel it physically…
-
That's why I love my BodyMedia Fit. It calculates what I'm doing all day...no guesswork. :) And lighten up people...geez.
