Looking forward to our world travels!

My biggest reason to start was to be healthier. My whole family has a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. So when my doctor said "pre-hypertensive" it really motivated me to make some big changes. As I've progressed along my journey I realized that I also really enjoy feeling stronger. I…

Wow! Those are some amazing results. I would have thought it would take more than 10 pounds to make such a difference. Thanks so much for sharing your inspirational photos.

Well, sounds like you already know that the behavior is not a healthy one. But it's definitely better to choose healthy, low-calorie foods over ones that are really bad for you in large quantities. So, it sounds like you have taken the first step to being healthier by choosing better foods. Next would be to work toward…

I usually use the following mixed in with my meat, onions, tomatoes and beans: 1 Tbsp chili powder (any will work, I usually use a light one since I don't care for smoky flavors) 1 tsp powdered cumin 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste) 1 tsp paprika (I'm allergic to black pepper so I use paprika to give a little kick, but you…

You are doing a fantastic job in your recovery. Your current ("after") photo looks amazing; you look so healthy. Thank you very much for sharing your inspirational photos with us.

Definitely with everyone who mentioned workouts. My attitude and even the way I walk changes after a good workout. A nice pampering shower with a deep conditioning treatment for my hair and nice-smelling lotion afterward. Fantastic music that makes me want to dance. A cute shirt in a color that's flattering (for me that's…

Wow, fantastic progress. You look great. And it's so much easier to find cute clothes in size large than 3X. Thanks for sharing your inspiring pictures.

Thanks for sharing your story as well as your inspirational pictures. Congratulations on your fantastic success!

I agree with NeuroticVirgo's post above, and am planning on following much of that advice myself. I've lost 80 pounds over the last two years (about 20 left to go), and definitely have some saggy stomach issues. I will say that I have noticed a difference (improvement) in my skin since starting to use moisturizing lotion…

I've always wondered how it would taste hot. I usually blend it with ice or frozen fruit. Maybe I'll have the courage to try it in hot chocolate soon. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, that's a great idea. I think this week my focus will be on switching up my food a little (adding some variety) while maintaining enough protein.

Well, according to the BMI scale I should weigh under 150. So I picked 145 as my goal. I've never been that light as an adult, so have no real concept of what it will look like on me. I figure when I get there I can re-evaluate based on what I feel like and how I look. (For me this journey started to obtain better health.…

Once a week when I first get to the gym for my noon-time workout. So I'm wearing typical workout capris and shirt and my running shoes.

One of my standards is: 1 pouch (2 servings) tuna 1 Tbsp. Kraft olive oil mayo (half the fat of regular mayo) 1 tsp dijon mustard juice of half a lemon 1/2 tsp tarragon 1/4 tsp garlic powder 2 sliced green onions 1 large stalk celery, chopped Other times I'll use dill instead of the tarragon and add in a tablespoon or so…

Absolutely love peanut butter. A tablespoon on apple slices is one of my favorite snacks. I've recently tried PB2 and love it also. It's great mixed in oatmeal, protein smoothies, and Greek yogurt. Haven't been brave enough to just mix it with water or milk and try it on a sandwich yet.

I do if it's a recipe and I'm using a fair amount of something like cinnamon or paprika. I don't worry about the 1/8 tsp I add to my yogurt most days.

Amazing progress! You are doing so well. Thanks for sharing the inspiration. :flowerforyou:

I love oatmeal. There are so many tasty ways to enjoy it. I use either steel cut oats or the "old fashioned" plain rolled oats. My latest favorite is to add 1 serving (2 Tbsp.) of PB2 and a tablespoon of dried cranberries to my cooked oats. Sometimes I'll also add a sprinkle of cinnamon or a teaspoon of mini chocolate…

I like well-bred and well-behaved dogs of any size. I grew up with miniature ( 15 lbs or so) poodles and really adore them. (Really love the lack of shedding.) But I also loved my uncle's doberman. Baby was huge (90 lbs of lean muscle) and amazing. So, really any smart dog that listens to their owner is good in my book.

It's such a boost when others notice. You are doing fantastic!

Like most others who have posted so far, I don't think of my current eating habits as a "diet" in any type of restrictive sense. For me what has worked best is to make gradual changes and to focus on the positive - to work toward doing the things I know I need to be doing and not worry so much about the things I shouldn't…

I haven't lost any length (still and 8.5 or 9 US, 40 European) but I've gone from a D width to a B width. That makes me so happy. I will have so many more options since some normal-width shoes should now fit.

These sound so yummy! Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to MFP! Sounds like you have a really great plan. I know that in the long run you can stick with this and get where you want to be. It does take time, but you are worth it.

Wow, gorgeous team logo! Thanks so much.

Hello. My name is Teresa. I'm 38 (for a few more weeks anyway), and live in Texas. I've been working at getting healthier and losing weight for just over two years now. I still have about 20 pounds to reach my current goal. I've never been quite that light in my adult life, so not sure if it's my final goal or not; will…

This sounds fantastic. Wonder if it would work as well with non-fat Greek yogurt instead of the sour cream? Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your recipe. These sound quite delicious.

The Row the World challenge was a lot of fun. I'm definitely in for this one if I can find a team. Anyone know of groups looking for members?
