I read both e-books and paper books. I really love e-readers, as you can increase the font size--every book is now a large-print book!
-
Haha, I love these! Only get them occasionally as treats, though.

Nope, it's not just you. Unfortunately, I have to politely pretend to be delighted when I'm at the in-laws and they offer it, as they know we don't eat dairy.

There will be one of those near here in the fall, they sound like a lot of fun! As for my nsv, I just want to feel more comfortable in my own skin.

My favorite herbal tea is camomile, favorite caffeinated tea is green tea. I drink my hot teas plain, but as an occasional treat I will get some iced bubble tea sweetened with sugar.

I just found out about this yoga website for people who are overweight: http://www.heartfeltyoga.com/heavyweight_yoga.htm I plan to buy a dvd or two to get started.
-
Thanks for the link! I have generous proportions as well and was thinking about restarting yoga, so very timely for me.

I've bought one of those...I call them adult sippy cups, with a screw-on lid and hard plastic straw. Really helps me drink more.

Ooo, I knew there must have been a reason I picked up a container of mixed berries yesterday!

Yes, we try to only have healthy snacks at home and save the empty calories for occasional treats away from home.

Unfortunately, you're probably going to have to cut back on your exercise to give it a chance to heal. When I had these symptoms, it took my foot a month to heal. But if it's been going on for years, I think you definitely need to see a doctor.

If Subway had hummus, I would go there *all* the time.

95% of the time I drink plain water, but maybe once a week or so I want a caffeinated drink. So I've started keeping sugar-free instant drink mix on hand, the single-serve packets that are meant for a 16-20oz bottle of water. It's ok for an occasional indulgence, better than diet soda.

Yes, this is a pet peeve of mine. Someone will send me a generic friend request and not even have their profile visible. I just decline all of those, as I assume they are some kind of spam.

Yeah I know, but I don't like using my phone when I'm sweaty :)

Yes, peanut butter does technically contain some trans fat. But the hydrogenated oils are less than two percent of the peanut butter, and tests have shown that all mainstream brands have less than 0.005g of trans fat per serving. If 0.005g of trans fat is that important to you, then by all means buy natural…

In the USA, typical budget peanut butter is mostly peanuts and sugar. No trans fats, and just enough (<2%) hydrogenated oil to give it a smooth texture.

Pre-planning the meal helps me, many restaurants have nutritional information online. But I would suggest not getting the healthiest thing; it's ok to get a treat if you budget the calories for it. And if it's just an occasional thing, there's nothing wrong with added 300 calories to your daily total. Using a maintenance…

Yes, I usually use regular peanut butter, or even chocolate peanut butter when I want a treat. I do keep PB2 on hand though, as it is easy to mix into certain things.

These chocolate peanut butter no-bakes are ~60 cal: http://dashingdish.com/recipe/peanut-butter-fudge-banana-no-bake-cookies/

Brussels is technically correct, but everyone I know pronounces it "Brussel sprouts", so I am guilty of spelling it that way. I still haven't been able to convince my other half that they are edible, so I usually have them by themselves, as a snack.

I think they're worried they'll lose their vegan super powers. I've been a vegetarian over twenty years, and vegan for most of it, but come to find out on this forum that apparently I'm not vegan enough. *shrug*
-
Nothing yet, but I'm considering chia seeds, if I can find them locally.

Brussel Sprouts = Veggie Candy!

I love broccoli slaw! Rather than using it as a garnish, I'll use it as my entire salad base, with just Kalamata olives and some light dressing.

Maybe the food you have at home is Too healthy? If you feel too deprived at home, you're going to stray :) Have you tried looking for recipes for food you get at restaurants that have a reasonable amount of calories?

Haha, I'm not the only one!

I love Mieville. Some of his books work better for me than others, but I've always considered them worth the read. Do you know if he's going to be publishing anything soon? Currently rereading Pratchett's Snuff for my book club and will be reading Belcher's The Six-Gun Tarot after that. It's a wild west steampunk, looks…

Too many good books out there to read; I have no problem putting a book down.
