  • Yesterday was very successful. I enjoyed my dinner and when I ate more "just because it's there" I felt too full. So I took a few moments to focus on that. To memorize the sensation and reflect on how little food it took to feel that way.
  • Thank you for pointing out that extended fasts aren't required for success with OMAD. It was really seeming that way to me. As I get frustrated with no progress because of the usual starting up missteps, I was thinking I had to include long fasts for success which made me fail even harder. Fasting for 23 hours is…
  • Thank you for your detailed answer. I do know a lot of those already, but it doesn't hurt to hear again. MFP hasn't helped me, per se, with its very generalized recommendations of calories and macros and exercise, but it has given me access to diaries and posts from successful dieters. When I look at that information I see…
  • I hope you see the results I got when I went dry for April because it will inspire you to keep at it. I lost weight, gained restful sleep, and my temperament was more stable. It lead to me cutting way back now with just 5-6 a week total - used to be 2-4 a NIGHT!
  • It's not hunger, it's having been a See Food eater for so long. Fasting is what I did in my teens and 20s, my anorexic days where a day's meal was 1 rice cake with peanut butter and jelly. Not healthy. Then I trained myself to take small amounts of food whenever I could. That worked fine until my 40s. Now I have to find…
  • I'm not looking for easy, I said tips to distract me. You know, like Sip tea while you cook, or Walk up and down the stairs five times when you want to grab a handful of nuts, or Chew gum even though you think women looks like cows when they do. I guess I thought others who have done it might have some clues but guess I…
  • I need tips for distracting myself from eating. I really am someone with 0 willpower and I am surrounded by food - home all day cooking 3 meals for others. I haven't given this a full 100% shot yet, and I'm still gaining. 203 yesterday!
  • I think that is the right approach. On the LCHF forum, a lot advocate to not add extra fat. They say get required amount of protein and not more, very little carb, and then if trying to lose weight, the less fat the better is what I've gotten out of reading there.[/quote] This could explain why I'm still gaining. I didn't…
  • "tastes like bait" I'm not going to ask how you know what bait tastes like! LOL!
  • LOL As a lady farmer myself, I can say you don't look anything like the women around here! I'd be like - She looks healthy and like she eats something other than breaded fried pork. What's she doing here?
  • Luckily, I was with my daughter who I taught to eat slowly, never out of a package, and to stop once she feels satiated. We ordered small fries, split them, and only ate half of our servings. Another thing we do is eat only 3 bites of desserts - 1 for maximum value, 2 to enjoy it with anticipation, 3 to close it out. I…
  • Your posts get my political ire up! Everyone should have paid parental leave, affordable daycare, and a livable wage to begin with! Arrrgghh! However, this is not a political place, so I will just say how lucky your son and DIL are that you are available. Don't forget to "put your oxygen mask on first" as they say, before…
  • Five Guys Burger and Fries. Need I describe it? LOL
  • I love that your reflections focus on gratitude and a positive intention. It's unlike most things I read during the day. Thank you for sharing your journey. It's inspiring in more ways than you know. Congratulations on your success!
  • This is so inspiring! These results came from your commitment. All you girl!
  • Coffee crusted grassfed flank steak, sweet potato oven fries, mixed greens, Caesar dressing.

  • We made our own with wood blocks. I testify to its value!
  • I don't know. I've also ground them first. I do know that flax seeds have to be ground to be properly digested. Maybe chia do, too, or maybe I just do that.
  • I take magnesium daily. Have you tried soaking a Tablespoon of chia seeds in water until they gel (it takes like 15 minutes) and adding that to a protein shake or smoothie? That helps me when I'm more Paleo than Plant-eo in my foods.
  • OMAD has helped me pinpoint some important details for my weight loss needs -- flour, corn, and dairy upset my digestion; stopping earlier in the evening (7:30) is better than later (10pm) for sleeping; fruits and vegetables are my friends. There might not be any loss again this week, but this clear information of what…
  • Thank you. I'd love to see more, but at least I'm not gaining.
  • I think I'm in Phase 3 (from the OMAD video library that talks about phases) I don't feel HUNGRY between meals and when I do feel lower case hungry I know it will pass. Also, I realized I'm only 30 lbs from the upper limit of healthy weight for me. It's a personal goal to lose 55 lbs, not a necessary one. So, I added a…
  • Great analogy with the instructions. Yes. We are the reason. I think this is the most important realization. It really is our responsibility, our actions. And we are strong enough to do it. You got this.
  • I suggest you all stop engaging with the OP. He/She is bored with life and trolling. Not worth your time or energy.
  • Weigh-in yesterday was ok. 199 even. Friday night was a big dinner with high carbs, and today I wasn't very hungry during the day at all. Looking for a place for brunch tomorrow- not much luck. Biscuits and gravy are considered haute cuisine around here.
  • Well, you only taste in your mouth, so you could chew it for a few seconds and then spit it out without swallowing. This is ONLY for these special off-schedule treats - DO NOT make it a habit. Trust me.
  • Grass fed beef burger, sweet potato oven fries, horseradish mayonnaise. Glass of Shiraz. I'm stuffed.
  • That is so unreal. To direct you to eat sugar, and sugar, --- how are you supposed to heal? Fast and have good bone broth, sounds better. Yes, broth is clear - if jello is ok (it's made with gelatin) than a good marrow-full bone broth is OK, too, I would think.
  • My biceps are disproportionate from carrying babies with left arm to free up right hand to do stuff for 5 straight years! Plus, I rowed Port on Varsity Crew in college. Big left lat and bicep. Great job on the legs!
