  • The other day I made a smoothie with spinach, cottage cheese, almonds, peanuts, and a bit of soy milk. Really don't know what I was thinking, it was vile. Every mouthful made me gag! But I forced it down and washed it down with water...
  • Maybe try some swimming for a change if possible? It might be less painful without putting your weight on your hip, and help you relax instead while still burning decent calories. I find it a lot more enjoyable than standing on a treadmill anyway. Best of luck! Tom
  • Very helpful- thanks for all the replies everyone! I think almond or whole milk is my favourite taste-wise. But it's true that I can get my protein from other sources, so I think I'll stock up on almond milk next time I go to the store! And I can't believe that there are laws against raw whole milk in some places.…
  • Restraining myself from pasta is possibly the hardest part for me too... I've been working out every now and then for the last year or so, trying to get into better shape. But it wasnt until a few months ago that I really started to take it seriously. And honestly I think the most useful thing to stay on track has been…
  • I've been having a smoothie for breakfast every day for the last few weeks. It depends on what's in the fridge, but recently the basis has been: 1 banana, a good handful of fresh spinach, 1/4 of a pineapple, 1 kiwi, a slosh of low fat yoghurt, 1/2 avocado, and 2/3 cup of oatmeal. I sometimes put in frozen berries, carrot,…
  • Rather than taking a free day, I might allow myself one free treat every few days... Anything can happen in a day! And given the opportinuty I will eat everything in sight!
  • I too am guilty of having no friends ... You're right that exercise is the easy part- I enjoy and look forward to it! Can't say the same for cutting out all of the many foods I love though... Feel free to add me!
  • I too am a poor student! I've been working out seriously for 4 or 5 months now, but I haven't been to the gym once. I have dumbbells but there is plenty of exercises you can do without them. If you want some Youtube vids to watch, I find the SixPackShortcuts ones to be pretty good. If you are wanting to do cardio, try the…
  • I too am new to this site, and am finding it very useful. I admittedly have no friends  so add me if you like!
  • Cottage cheese may cure you of your cravings with its low fat content and disgusting texture... Leaving you repulsed at the thought of having more! Or maybe that's just me... But in all seriousness it is quite tasty
  • Thanks alot for all the helpful responses- just what I wanted to hear :D I didn't think it could possibly be that bad to eat lots of fruit, but I just wanted to clarify. @iggyboo93, yep I have done, I put veg like spinach and sometimes carrots in my smoothies to balance it out a little. And contrary to the belief of my…
  • Tasty!! I make pretty much the same dish, but with a bit of garlic added. The key ingredient to... everything!
