I only watched one, The Biggest Loser, once for about 5 minutes. Jillian and whoever the guy is were watching on camera as everyone came into the gym area and were laughing at their attempts at using the various machines. They're severely overweight, did you expect them to be experts? I turned the channel. That's one of…

Me personally I have trouble eating before working out. You just have to try it and see.

Welcome! Feel free to add me though I don't track much here anymore. I've found it pretty sustainable once I got to the point where I made it a lifestyle change. This is it for me, no going back. I may have a carb-y treat from time to time, but they will be few and far between. Dairy milk annoys my stomach but I can eat…

Everytime one of these threads start up the ranks of PF members swells.

What I find interesting is that they were actually looking at the differences of high carb diets vs low carb diets in 1956. Science was already noticing a correlation between carbs and various health issues even then, despite the obesity/diabetes epidemic being a current problem. Whenever someone posts a study and it gets…

I could eat a box of Thin Mints at a time, by myself. Which is why I no longer buy them, or if I do I give them away.

Do you know how to can them? I don't, lol, but there is surely a website somewhere. I have ancient booklets on canning pickles and strawberries, but not beets.

I don't know but B&J = weight loss is a diet I would happily do.

Have fun and good luck in Vegas! I've known people who've lost weight not even tracking while on vacation because of the stress relief so even if you've hit a brick wall you may lose.

I do the cucumber sticks for my yogurt + HV Dill dip. We eat a buffalo chicken dip a lot at my house as its fast, cheap, and super filling (and low carb). The husband and kids eat it with tortilla chips and I eat it with a spoon, lol. I don't even like tortilla chips except with this dip. I may try the lettuce leaves next…

I wish I could come up with something for dips that are not pork rinds or celery. I just cannot make myself like them lol.

I like it, personally. No cravings, no blood sugar spikes, can go hours without eating and not getting the shakes. LCHF is a method of decreasing calories that works well for some. Some don't want to give up the carbs. To each their own. Maybe try it for a month or two and see how you feel?

Maybe do the old recipes with more veggies? Instead of chicken with pasta, maybe chicken with spaghetti squash or shredded zucchini? Cauliflower "rice" and "potatoes" can help bulk out a meal also, and still be low carb.

I'm trying to beat sugar.

Looking good!

I've only used Knox to make jigglers. Jigglers, auto correct, not jugglers. I'm going to have to try a few of these recipes.

Didn't even notice the date of the OP.

Being able to keep up with my husband and daughters while hiking around our state parks. I HATE when someone has to stop and wait for me to catch up.

I wish I could help but most fully qualified docs in WV begin and end with me being fat. Seriously, eat right and exercise is about all I get, while completely ignoring my efforts. It took a resident doctor (student, for those unfamiliar with teaching hospitals) to diagnose my diabetes and the midwife I see for OB to start…

I have nothing against eating rabbit but I have a pet one and everytime I see your title I think "Why does a rabbit need to eat low carb?" Lol. I have a cat on a grain free diet so it's not impossible I suppose. I have no tips on cooking one, though, because my daughter would sooner cook me than her bunny.

Our meat sales in my area are generally a joke. BOGO means they double the sticker price, so you're still paying the same.

Great job!

Good info, I think I will subscribe to the free stuff. I think there is more to obesity than the science, though. Add in emotional attachments to food, whether positive or negative, the rising cost of good healthy food, the size of one's family, and the amount of contradictory information flooding everyone's brain on a…

Great job on the loss, OP (and everyone else). I've lost roughly 8 lbs and 14 inches since mid-January. I'm definitely in a stall, probably having to do with stress, a busy schedule starting at 5 am, and no energy left at the end of the day to exercise.

Good luck Karlottap.

Funny you should bring this up. Just yesterday I looked up the effects of coconut oil causing sunburn, thinking back to the days when I tried baby oil. I use CO as a moisturizer. What I found were sites stating it was a natural sunblock. Of course those sites also had their own blends for sale at a price considerably more…

Same here. I was usually the first one done eating, unless it was spaghetti night and I would be there half the night until they got tired of it and let me get up. I detest Ragu to this day because of this. Part of my disdain for McDonalds is that I used to have to wait 15-20 minutes longer because I didn't want onions on…

The prices on meat at our Aldi's are usually $1-2 cheaper than Kroger or Walmart and their packages are smaller. We do buy the thin pork chops but we also get the ground turkey, the big box of hamburgers, the bags of chicken and fish. The burgers are nice to have on hand when everyone else wants pizza or when I get home…

I've lost about 8 pounds since mid January. I'm sure I'm eating over my calories and I need to exercise more but right now I focus on one day at a time, one meal at a time. There are definitely times I want to say to heck with this but I feel better overall and my blood work keeps coming back perfect so I know I'm on the…

We buy most of our meat there, and its often the cheap stuff. I'm sure there are lots of good, scientific reasons to buy meat grown and processed a certain way but at the end of the day we're a family of four on a budget. We eat the best meats we can.
