lifting weights two, three or more days in a row is fine, but as long as your not using the same muscle groups. Most lifters who lift every day do routines that intensely work out different muscle groups, so that each group gets time to rest and recover while you work another goup. These are called split routines. If your…

Its great to see posts about woman weight lifting. I see way to many woman spending hours on hours on cross trainers and running machines in the gym and never venturing into the weights area. Part of this I understand is because the weights area tends to be full of grufty, grunting men and I understand this is sometime…

Carb up the day before your big run. Lots of pasta/rice/brown, good sized meals, mix in some protein and plenty of fruit and veg. Its a bit like fueling your car, you need to fuel up before a long journey. On the day, just before the run eat well, wholemeal cerials, oats, bread, bananas, low slow release carbs that will…

Some good advise here kate. Go for a 15 min walk warm up, then 40 to 45 min weight training, then 15 min walk after. As already stated make sure you get a pre and post protein meal. Think about what you want to achieve and plan your training. Most people starting with weights go for full body workouts, where you do one…

June 01, 2013 21:45Had to post this, its a great dessert or pre bed snack and so easy to make.. 1 cup Quinoa - rince well to remove biterness 3 cups of chocolate soya milk mix in a pan and simmer for about an hour until thick and creamy! The quinoa brings a nutty texture to what is a chocalte rice pudding.

Great, good call.... but also add some small amounts of low GI carbs.... Your body needs some cards.

Casein protein is a good call! excellent night feed..

Ok whats your work out routine... if your doing a lot of cardio, your body will be struggling with this. Try adding some low GI grain into your diet, stuff like quinoa, bulga wheat,, brown rice, sweet potato... Eat your carbs as part of your early meals. I would also be worried that your not getting much in terms of fibre,…

If your working out and not eating enough, this becaomes self destructive and your body will store everything. Likewise your metobolic rate will slow right down.

I appreciate the need to minimise calories. However, I am also a big believer in listening to your body and your body is telling you it needs more food, or a different type of food. Whats your daily diet consist of? have you cut down significantly on carbs, because this can be a factor? You doing the right thing with the…
