Here's what you need to know about one forum in particular:
-
The first thing your body sheds are glycogen stores in your liver and fluid stored throughout the body. So the first week or two of weight loss is awesome, but it settles down pretty quickly once your body goes after the fat stores.

I once found broccoli in my food... it was hideous.

She said "gorram"... The last few days, I've been a pig of a food addict. The only saving grace has been that I've really hit the cardio hard the last two days.

I'll flip a coin... "heads" you go to the reunion... "tails" you go to the wedding... *FLIP* Quick, which side did you secretly hope would come up? So do that thing...

Don't forget "adaptive thermogenesis"... as one loses weight, one's body expends less energy than it did before to do things like stand up, sit down, walk to meet one's crack dealer (i.e. McDonalds), which is why weight loss slows as one gets closer to one's ideal body weight.

I'm frequently depressed and often think about topping myself, which I can't do because too many people depend on me.

If you want this to end, you can make it end and change your life completely. I treat my relationship with food like an addiction. Like any addiction, the first step is to assume full responsibility for what you do and why you do it. Step 1, deal with your addiction to overeating. Do not proceed to step 2 until you believe…

From McDonald's website (in re. their cheeseburgers): "A juicy 100% beef patty simply seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper, melty American cheese, tangy pickles, minced onions, ketchup and mustard." McDonald’s and several other chains recently stopped using the “pink slime” in their beef, but the majority of fast food…

Fitness balls at Walmart run about $9. Lots of videos on how to use them on YouTube.

Well, the good news is that eating less food costs less money.

Every person will have to give an account for each and every careless word that ever fell from their lips. Not going to be a "fun day out" for anyone, but especially for guys like "Dave".

Change... sounds harsh, but it's true nonetheless.

When my doctor said, "Losing weight is not a priority for you." It severely pissed me off, but once I calmed down and stopped strangling him, I thought about it and had to agree. I then realized overeating was an addiction for me and started treating it that way. I've been clean and sober since May 22, 2013.

@hadrianplott... congratulations!

Read your profile... Looks like we might have been separated at birth. Not sure if I would be helpful to your effort or not... I don't nag, and I generally don't send "WTG" messages, but I do try to respond to questions, etc.

Thank you everyone! Ugh, my back is threatening to go out. I either overdid on the ball, some stuff the wrong way, or a combination of all three.
-
@sarahthin, thanks for replying. Yes, I've been doing crunches on the ball. I was hoping for more replies, but I do appreciate yours.

This... and this... Just not often and not a lot... And very occasionally, this...

Sheet clutching, right?

I usually have 2 pieces of Healthy Life whole wheat, each with a tbl of peanut butter, which makes for a complete protein. I'm able to go 5 hours on it.

@Theonlydiva01 is that a pug I see?

Google "adaptive thermogenesis", or if you're up to a tough slog through some technical reading, try this link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3673773/

Assuming you aren't already, you might need a recovery day here and there.

I would think it would depend on the individual. Personally, I get a bit distracted even just posting here on the message boards. For me, accountability has to begin and end with me. I'm overeating addict and have to take responsibility for myself. Not really sure blogging would help me or anyone reading it (assuming…
