  • Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. Really appreciate your supportive comments. And I wasn't REALLY about to telephone the local curry house! I think I need to increase my calorie intake and settle for a slower weight loss...that's obviously the sensible route, and I thank you all for making this point. Have a…
  • Hi from the UK. I'm in my 4th week on here and its all good so far. Lots of lovely people to support and encourage you, so if you're really serious about getting rid of the excess pounds, you've come to the right place.
  • Hi from the UK. I'm in my fourth week and everything is good. You'll find lots of folk who are more than happy to support you in achieving your goals. It's a great site with some lovely people...and its a load of fun too.
  • I'm in my 4th week of 1200 cals and haven't had any real problems. I tend to have a low cal breakfast and an even lower cal lunch, which gives me plenty to play with in the evening...even a large whisky here and there. I don't eat back my exercise cals, and usually end up somewhere between 1000 and 1100 each day. I've lost…
  • Hi from the UK. I have an autistic 12 year old stepson, so understand your issues only too well. Once you get started on here, you get hooked and, believe me, you'll get all the support you need. Good luck on your journey.
  • I tend to ignore 'exercise calories' anyway because, as you all say, it's difficult to know what's right and what's wrong...different methods seem to give very conflicting results. So I stick to my 1200 goal, and any 'exercise calories'..whatever they may be..are just a bonus.
  • Sorry to be so long replying. I tend to ignore 'exercise calories' and just treat them as a bonus. I'm not convinced that they're accurate anyway. I use Runtastic which is great but obviously can't adjust for the degree of effort put into a run or walk...when walking up a long hill for example. I also don't think it takes…
  • Cancel that!! It's just come on the phone now...obviously takes a bit of time to register. Phew!!
  • I'm just a novice compared to what you've achieved..that's so impressive. Thanks so much for your message of support.
  • Lost 68lbs? That's amazing...well done you. I've only been at this for 12 days so I'm not in your league...haven't even dared to have my first weigh-in yet!! I'm sure you'll keep focused over the Summer, and keep talking to everyone on here. We're all in this together.
  • Don't despair. Remember one simple and indisputable fact...if you continue using more energy than you take in, you HAVE to lose weight in the long term. There'll be ups and down for sure but you'll get there in the end.
  • Hi Katie..I'm David and 3 times your age!! I started on MFP 8 days ago, and, boy, do I feel the difference already. I'm plotting all food intake like it's a military operation and include absolutely everything. I'm also making sure I 'steal' a few hundred calories each day on the exercise bike. I thought I'd wait 14 days…
  • I started 8 days ago, and already I'm well into the routine. Make sure you 'steal' a few hundred extra calories a day with exercise. Haven't had my first weigh-in as yet..I'm leaving it for 2 weeks and hope to see a positive result. Who needs to pay a fortune for Weightwatchers or Slimming World...this site gives you…
  • I'm just coming to the end of week 1 on 1200 cals per day. Not really been a problem sticking to it...even managed to 'save' enough calories for a whisky and diet coke one evening, although when it came to it, I had a cup of tea instead! Tomorrow's weigh in will be the key!! I tend to try and leave around 600/650 for…
