The big question
So here's the big question...do we just write off Christmas Day for control purposes, and eat and drink whatever takes our fancy? Or do we continue to exercise the control that has achieved our weight loss goal so far and stick to target calories? I have to say I'm leaning towards the blow-out!! What do you all reckon?

Healthy soup recipes
I love home made soup...so this morning I'm buying an electric soup maker. Any suggestions for healthy nutricious home made soups will be gratefully received. Thanks.

Fitbit...I don't understand how it works!
I don't understand how the fitbit can make an adjustment when synching with My Fitness Pal. Firstly, my BMR and TDEE take into account my declared exercise level and frequency, so if fitbit doesn't take this into account, it, in effect, double counts when declaring calories burned. Secondly, I use Runtastic for my walking…

Do low cal drinks substitute for water?
I just can't drink buckets of water every day...but I DO drink litres of Sprite Zero, Diet Coke and Pepsi Max, which are, after all, just fizzy water with a bit of flavouring! Do soft drinks like this count as 'water' for the purposes of dieting?

Nearly there
On Friday, I expect to have either reached my target weight, or at least, be within a pound of achieving it. I don't want or need to lose any more than that. So, my plan is to increase my daily allowance from 1200 to 2000..I still lead a pretty active life so I'm reckoning that 2000 is about my 'normal' daily calorie…

Yet another inaccurate app!
I've tried Runtastic and now Runkeeper, but they both work on the same basis as far as calories are concerned. They have a pre-programmed number of calories burned per km for walking, for jogging etc etc, and it matters not at what pace one is carrying out the exercise. I walk a lot..most of the time at a fast pace of 9.5…

Yet another un reliable exercise app
Runtastic...a very popular exercise app, but completely unreliable. Today I did the identical route at the identical speed to yesterday, but today I set the system to 'walking' as opposed to 'jogging'. Runtastic told me I had burned 50% of the calories it declared yesterday, even though I travelled the same route, did the…

Exercise programmes
Does anyone have a totally reliable exercise programme/ I'm using Runtastic which, for the most part, is great, but spasmodically it decides not to synch my results with MFP and I have to do it manually. Maybe there's a more reliable programme out there?

Sodium levels
Hi everyone. I have a daily 'target' of 2500 but never get anywhere near this figure. Is it important to hit the sodium target and, if so, how the hell do I do it?!!

Not a happy bunny today!
Having lost 12 lbs in my first three weeks, I've come to a grinding halt this week, with absolute zero weight loss. But my net intake for the past 7 days is 6051 calories which, when set against my standard sedentary useage of 15500 cals, means I've taken in 9500 less calories than I've used. This should surely mean a…

Morning everyone
The sun is shining here in leafy Hertfordshire, and, after an early morning walk, I'm still in minus calories for the day after having breakfast! All is good in the world! Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Runtastic..calories not showing on phone
Just done a 703 calorie walk, measured on Runtastic. It's synched with MFP on my laptop, and is showing in the News Feed on my phone, but not showing in my daily totals on my phone (it is showing on totals on my laptop) Anyone any idea what I'm missing here in the settings?

Bye bye pounds!
Woo hoo! First weigh-in after just under 2 weeks on MFP, and carefully sticking to a maximum of 1200 cals per day. Lost 10.4lbs..really encouraged. Now for another 8 lbs over the next two weeks. Have a great and healthy weekend everyone.

How many extra calories to put on weight
I'm just curious to know how many calories over and above the 1200 per day would it take to put on extra pounds. I've only been on here for 12 days and am sticking carefully to my 1200, but just wanted to know the likely effect of an occasional 'blow out'!!

Stay away from the supermarket!!
I just had a really demoralising shopping trip around Tesco, looking at all the things I CAN'T eat within my 1200 a day! I've been on here for only 10 days, and am having no problem keeping within the 1200...but I won't be heading to Tesco for a few more weeks. I'm afraid my lovely wife will have to do the shopping!! First…
