I just had a really demoralising shopping trip around Tesco, looking at all the things I CAN'T eat within my 1200 a day! I've been on here for only 10 days, and am having no problem keeping within the 1200...but I won't be heading to Tesco for a few more weeks. I'm afraid my lovely wife will have to do the shopping!!
First weigh-in is next Monday morning.

  • You especially don't want to go there hungry. It's like your stomach is conspiring with your eyes to only see the cakes, cookies, chips, pudding....

Uh, what was I saying? Right, don't go to the supermarket hungry.

Oh, and only stick to the aisles around the perimeter.

Why are you sticking to a 1200 calorie diet? It is not advised (by many experts) that men drop below 1800 calories. Remember, that food is fuel and your body needs fuel to function. To figure out how many calories you SHOULD be eating, use a calorie deficit calculator like the one located at fitwatch.com (http://www.fitwatch.com/qkcalc/caloriedeficitcalculator.php). It takes into account your age, height, current weight and activity level to determine how many calories to eat. You are probably not eating enough calories to keep your body functioning.

Just something to consider. You should not be starving yourself to become healthier.
