I hate being fat because I know what I'm supposed to look like. I used to be the perfect weight for my height and I looked good (though I didn't know to appreciate it at the time lol) and now I just look weird...my face is far too full and my body looks strange to me haha! I long for the days when I could wear a dress or…

It's a birthday! I say, treat yourself - one piece of cake and a bit of ice cream won't throw you off. Or how about you only have a small slice of cake but substitute the ice cream with a bowl of jelly? ('Jello' in America, right?) Whatever you decide, there's nothing wrong with a treat, especially on a birthday! :)

For me it's - Breakfast: 9.30/10am (I can't eat too early, everything tastes like cardboard to me at 7 or 8am lol) Lunch: 12pm Snack: 3pm Dinner: 6pm Snack: 8pm I eat five times a day, basically. Most of my weight was put on due to boredom and eating the wrong things all day long!

Well, I've done my weekly shop (give or take a couple items) and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the total! For example, I bought a 1kg of fresh frozen broccoli for £1! That'll do me, considering a bouquet of fresh broccoli, not sure if it's called a bouquet but it looks like one haha, costs about the same.…

Thanks so much guys! It just makes more sense for me personally if I can take what I need and not worry about the rest going off as quickly. I'll definitely have a look tomorrow when I go food shopping :) x

Don't be scared, you have as much right as anyone else to be in there! From personal experience, it is daunting walking into a gym where there are gym bunnies hopping around and muscly men pumping iron, but eventually you'll get to the 'what does it matter what they think' stage. As far as outfit choice is concerned, I…

Well done!! :)

Thanks for all your suggestions!! The reason I was confused about the teaspoons/tablespoon measuring is: Yes, they may only be 15ml etc. but I can't tell how much stuff weighs just by looking at a heaped/smoothed out spoon...you know? haha! My brain's a little slow on these things as I've never really measured out…

First to change on me is around the ribs, waist and stomach area, but eventually my face catches up too! The only parts that take aaaages to show any signs of improvement are my bum and thighs as I carry most of my weight there. (Junk in the trunk - what, whaaat!) :D

Of course! I definitely feel deflated when I think about how long it will take to lose all the weight I've put on. But then I stop and think to myself: I've been gaining weight for the past four years and in comparison a year of losing weight is a snippet of time, even if it does feel like aaaaages!!! Losing weight as…

I think that's a very healthy and realistic approach, Stef! Life happens and everybody is bound to have a wobble here and there. I'm trying not to be obsessive about mine either, I stick to my calorie allowance every day but if I go over by a couple on a grumpy day, so what? I'm still in deficit compared to what I'd…

Yes! I'm in!!! :) Shall we all add each other as friends or what happens? I've never done this kind of group thing before.

Thanks for the reply :) I find hearing about other people's experiences interesting because you realise that everybody is so different. Some people can start something and stick with it straight away, others (like myself) need at least three runs up to it before finally making the leap haha!

Haha this made me giggle! I don't do any sort of crazy or hard-core work outs, but I do log everything and try to eat back so I'm netting 1,200 at least. Also, thanks for everyone's replies! x

I get inspiration through YouTube vlogs and Instagram profiles as well as Pinterest pins on 'Healthy Lifestyles' and 'Weight Loss'. I also scout out the types of clothes I'd like to wear to keep me motivated! It seems to work for me though it does get hard at times. I'm only a week in but I'm hoping the old "It takes 21…

My ideal weight loss would be 48lbs to get back to what I weighed 5 years ago. I've made myself a paper chart with one circle per lb and for every lb I lose, I get to cross one off! It let's me see that I AM making progress and keeps me going, even if I'm having a bad day! Today marks a solid week, pathetic I know but it's…

Thanks for your replies and advice!! I'm trying to hit the 1,200 mark but I usually end up just under (not intentionally, it's just down to what I eat and how it adds up). I've upped it to 1,250 now so that I will definitely hit at least 1,200 every day! I do tend to eat back my exercise calories because I figure, it may…
-
Firstly, thanks for the quick replies! I don't even know why it's hit me so hard this month because it normally doesn't but I only changed my diet up a week ago so I guess I'm craving stuff I normally wouldn't even have thought twice about before eating! I might have some Weetabix and see how it goes... Makes you realise…

Jaffa Cake....Biscuit or Cake? It's found in the biscuit aisle, is shaped like a biscuit and referred to as such....but being British, the argument went BIG and was finally classed as cake in a court of law. The deciding factor? A Jaffa cake goes stale instead of soft. Cake goes stale, biscuits go soft. McVities took the…

I believe calories are calories regardless of where they come from. HOWEVER, where those calories come from also depends on how your body uses them and what your body can take from it! For example, frozen or takeaway pizza is not going to have as many (if any!) positive vitamins & minerals as a pizza you made yourself with…

Listen, you've made a conscious decision to make a positive change in your life for yourself. You're brave and willing to walk this journey! What have these internet trolls ever done to be proud of? Everyone can act big and smug behind a computer screen but I guarantee they wouldn't have the guts to say it to someone in…

I think having one day a week where you have one higher calorie snack or meal that you wouldn't allow yourself otherwise should be fine, as long as it is only a one off and you aren't over-eating all day long. For example, I might have a Mars bar on a Saturday...whilst it is almost 300 kcals, I'm not having that followed…

I know it's difficult, especially if you exercise, but try to eat 1,200 in food at least because you don't want to risk your metabolism slowing down! Keep going, well done :)

Any chocolate by Kinder...it's just too damn hard to say 'No!' haha :D
-
Yay! I love a nice bit of fruit for a snack. I will do, thank you very much.

If I could 'like' yours and DeadVim's replies I would! Thank you so much!!

It's nice to hear some wise words, I'm new to this whole dieting thing and I guess I'm just over analysing. I haven't gone over on anything but sugar so far so fingers crossed it all works out - dedication, exercise and moderation, right? :)
-
Oh...so going slightly over won't affect weight loss? That's what I was worried about, you see. Nope, luckily I'm not diabetic! (*touch wood*). Thanks for the quick reply too :)
-
Yep! Mostly for sweeties though, so I get some lunchbox Kit-Kats (2 bars each instead of 4 and only 107 kcals). Just one will curb the sugar craving nicely! :)

Thanks guys! I already use scales for everything that doesn't come pre-weighed in portions! (i.e. when I have to portion out potatoes, brown rice, brown pasta etc. I weigh it before and after it's cooked to make sure that I stay within the gram limit!)
