  • I skimmed through the first page, and you've got some good advice. I just wanted to add that it's best to stay on a more natural diet, and stay away from products that are marketed as "diet, low fat, low cal..." I found myself getting much better results when I started reading the ingredients of packaged foods. The more…
  • You are so beautiful. Great story.
  • Awesome! You've got some fantastic leg muscles.
  • I have had the Ninja for a few years now and love it. It's probably not the best, I get chunks of ice as well. But, it was a good price, seems sturdy, and came with a smaller cup for food processing. So far soo good for me. I'd like a smooth smoothie, but I'm fine with what I have. You could look into restuarant grade…
  • I start off with ellipitcal for 20 min. Than I move over to the various leg and arm weight machines. Than I finish off with a light/casual elliptical again just to bring it down. On Wednesdays I go to a 45 min. spin class. And, I do 30 Day Shred, or just some basic exercises on my own, at home to get in the core and ab…
  • I'm 5'8 and my lowest (adult) weight was 130. And that was HARD to achieve. I was young and taking diet pills, not eating enough, exercising like crazy... I may have gone a little below that at one point but, I was borderline anorexic. There are people who are naturally thin and completely happy/healthy in that body, or…
  • There are old ladies in my class who kick my azz every time I go. Thay're always there at the time that I can make it so they must do it often. It's hard but gets easier. It'll always be a "workout", though. My instructor comes out sweating and burns hundreds of calories.
  • Well, I don't know what you're starting with. To see a six pack you need to lose body fat and gain muscle in that area. Load up on protein. Counting August that only gives you five months. You may see some defination in that time but, it may take longer to look like a fitness model. But, like I said, I don't know what…
  • It's very filling. I buy it too. I usually only eat one slice for breakfast with other things, but one day I made a sandwich using it and I never had a feeling of hunger for the entire day. Another plus is that everything on the ingredient list is natural.
  • I like Muscle Milk Light. I bought some Jillian Michaels shakes because they were on sale and there's just too much sugar in them. CVS has some good powders... really good.
  • Something beachy and exotic.
  • Kashi Go Lean Original. Low in calories and fat, and high in protein (13 grams).
  • I store the sugar free pudding mixes in small containers and put a spoonfull in my cottage cheese. I first heard about it from a lady who put it in her Plain Greek Yogurt but I prefer cottage cheese since it has more protein. It's really good and you can switch up the flavors based on your mood. I currently have lemon,…
  • Boiled eggs are a good hiking snack. And, you can just throw the "trash" on the ground.
  • Low Carb is something I strive to do but, right now, I stick with "healthy carbs". I used to not understand the hold that food had over some people until I tried to do the low carb diet. Now, I understand. Like I said, I've managed to keep it to a minimum but I'd like to work my way into the Primal diet or something…
  • I have 30 Day Shred and No More Trouble Zones. I like Jillian because she doesn't have me bouncing around the room. I'm not a dancer type in general. I have no desire to do Zumba or some type of "Jane Fonda" DVD . My least favorite thing that Jillian has me doing is the jumping jacks LOL. Her DVDs do get my heart rate up,…
  • Same here. Plus I'm just a "summer" type of person in general. I hate being cold.
  • I only go to Whole Foods when a "regular" store doesn't carry what I'm looking for. I usually get: Sprouted Grain Bread Coconut Oil (It's actually the best price I found) The bulk/loose stuff... I buy Oat Groats instead of Oatmeal, but they have a nice bulk section in general. I bought a jar of Almond Butter that I'm just…
  • How long have they been training? Could be muscle. I've been trying to gain muscle for the past two months, almost three. At first I lost weight, and than it stayed the same, now it looks like I'm going up again. But, I'm toning up so I'm OK with it. Are your friends looking like they're gaining weight?
  • So, if I don't subscribe to your point of view than I don't know what I'm talking about? I looked into this diet plan and it's still not something that I would want to put myself through. And, yes, I still think it's obsurd. Now, excuse me while I try to figure out how I will be able to eat, shower and do something fancy…
  • It all sounds like a bunch of malarky to me. I don't doubt that a longer term fast may have helped a sick person, but an every other day fast? What does that even accomplish? Of course you're going to lose weight, you're not eating. And, you'd have to have a VERY clean diet on the days that you do eat, otherwise you still…
  • Suck it up, ya big baby! LOL I buy oat groats. They're more like eating brown rice. In fact I think they're better, nutritionally, than brown rice (I'll have to look into that) and you could very well substitute it for the rice in a savory meal.
  • They make chocolate angel food cakes that should be the same as a regular angel food cake, or close to the same. And, I'm sure allrecipes or cookinglight have a few recipes. Does he know that you plan on making a "light" birthday cake? LOL I know some people who would be like "Bish, this is my birthday!" Heck, I love…
  • Just bored of the entire "being healthy" kick? My ego keeps me on track LOL. I have times when I don't stick to anything healthy, but than I'll have a moment when I realize what I'm doing to myself. Not being to physically able do average activities is embarasing to me. I'm also a summer type of person and like to wear…
  • I grind my flax seeds, whenever I think about it, and add the grounds to whatever I'm making. I have yet to taste a difference.
  • I have been wondering a lot about the "right times" to take/eat things. So this was a good read for me. Is there a good time to take my multi vitamin? How quickly are those used? I take one each day but not always at the same time, if my breakfast isn't large enough they can make me sick so I wait until later. How long is…
  • Get a lot of walking in? The activity level may go down so your MFP food numbers will reflect that. Good luck to you.
  • Gosh, you're beautiful. I sent a friend request.
  • If I want something sweet I buy Frosted Mini Wheats. I actually read a lot of labels to find a cereal that was low cal/fat and OK on protein. I have the smart pop popcorn for salty snacks. Diet coke or water. My theater also has a coffee bar and they serve hot tea as well. I can skip all snacks if I just get a hot drink.
