  • Thanks for the responses everyone! Okay I've opened my diary, please don't judge me! This is basically how I've been eating my whole life and it's going to take a lot to get used to eating in moderation! In my house growing up the portions were huge, the desserts plentiful, and the word moderation was nonexistent. So I'm…
  • On days I don't wash my hair I just rinse my hair thoroughly with water and then I towel dry it. That seems to work for me, my hair isn't smelly or sweaty feeling when I get out of the shower.
  • I'm doing Insanity. It's a great workout and you don't need any equipment. Each video is between 20-45 minutes long and when I'm done I'm exhausted but I know I got a great workout. The videos are kind of expensive but if you can find it online cheaper or on craigslist then I would definitely give it a shot!
  • Ok, just weighed myself and my starting August weight (according to my Wii Fit) is 146.5. I want to lose at least 10 more pounds and I would like to be down to 140 if possible by my birthday on August 28th.
  • I'm in! I've been stuck trying to lose the same last five pounds or so but it seems I have no self control and must eat everything in sight! I need to refocus and get all the junk food out of my house and get to my goal! Hopefully this will help me stay on track.
  • Where abouts in Lakewood are you? I live on South Tacoma Way near the mcchord base.
  • I've lived in Washington now for almost 10 years. I've mostly lived in Tacoma but I currently live in Lakewood. I would love to find a workout buddy in my area!
  • Hi welcome to mfp! It's going to change your life. It definitely changed mine. Feel free to add me as a friend for motivation to kick butt and lose weight! :D
  • I love Jillian's yoga meltdown dvd. It really helped me improve my balance and flexibility. I am on level 3 of the 30 day shred right now and I just started the 6 week 6 pack video. I really like that one, it's very intense and will strengthen your core and develop your upper body strength too. I have Jillian's Ripped in…
  • Hi everyone, I'm 22 and I have about 20 more pounds to lose. Feel free to add me! More friends means more motivation to kick butt!
  • Agreed! Anyone else looking for motivation feel free to add me! :)
  • Thanks. That'll give me a good idea of how many calories it is and I can estimate from there.
  • When I made my goals I chose lightly active since I stand on my feet at work and move around a bit. I did not include my exercise with my daily activity. I did say that I planned on exercising 60 minutes a day 5 days a week.
  • Well, I just changed my goals to lose 1 pound a week instead of 1 1/2 and it wants me to net 1580 so that means I have to eat almost 1900 calories a day if I exercise? That seems way too high! I feel I'll definitely gain weight if i eat that much a day.
  • I'm confused about this as well. I just changed my goals to 1 pound a week instead of 1 1/2. MFP says I should net 1540 calories a day. If I exercise and burn 300 calories, should I be eating 1840? I don't understand this, what's the point of burning calories just to put them right back in? Also, 1840 seems ridiculously…
  • I've weighed myself several times this week, and I've watched my weight go up steadily until today when I am now 3 pounds heavier. I'm afraid to continue on like I have been, exercising and then eating most of my calories, for fear that I keep gaining weight. I guess I'll keep eating my base calories and try to eat at…
  • I've been eating the higher calories and I've gained weight so I think I'm just going to stick with the lower number from now on. I've been exercising a lot and drinking way more water than I used to, could the weight I've gained be muscle or water weight?
  • Sorry, don't know how to post a link on here. http://www.boredpanda.com/what-200-calories-look-like/ That's the link. Does anyone know how to post a link on these boards?
  • Hi Everyone! I'm new here and would love some friends to keep me motivated! I tend to get down on myself when I don't see results right away (even though the rational part of my mind knows that's ridiculous) so it will be uplifting to know others are taking the same journey as I am. :) Thanks! :)
  • Yes, 1 lb a week is probably the best way to go, but I'm impatient! I've never had a flat stomach my whole life, I've always had a little pooch and I want it to go away. Does anyone know any tricks for burning fat from that area quicker?
  • Oops! You're right, it says I'd weigh 149 in five weeks. Must've read it wrong last night. Well, I set my goal to lose 1 1/2 pounds a week. Is that healthy? I have never tried keeping a food journal and I I've never really dieted either. I get bursts of motivation to exercise, but I usually end up giving up after awhile.…
  • Weird, that's from this morning. I'm still finishing the sandwich lol. Yesterday, I skipped breakfast and had a salad for lunch and lasagna for dinner, plus fruit as snacks in between. I also exercised enough to burn about 400 or so calories.
