  • Weight lifting helps! I've never looked so trim compact in my life. I wish folks would stop believing the myth that you will bulk up. If you are eating a ton of food then yes you will gain muscle but still look bad *kitten*. But you can still lose weight and get those muscles in top shape. It helps burn more fat too!
  • I am VERY interested in your DRs info and the costs associated with the procedure. I'm in NJ but I don't mind taking a trip for great results. I'm not ready to get it done just yet, still working on my muscle fitness but I'd say by next year I'd like a consult and procedure. The saggy skin on my tummy is what kills me the…
  • Some pics!
  • Hi and welcome back! 35 yo mom of 3 here. I restarted my journey after my 3rd child was about 1. Was 164lbs and at 5'5" that was a bit much for me to carry around. This time around though I wanted to do something a bit different from just cardio and classes. I stepped out of my comfort zone and downloaded Stronglifts 5X5…
  • Took mistakes and figuring out what worked. And for me heavy cardio just didn't give me the results I thought I wanted. I started lifting weights 2 years ago and STOPPED trying to starve myself. I'll never look back. Best decision I ever made.
  • If you aren't already... lift some weights! Trust me you will not regret it. You look great btw, awesome work!
  • You look AMAZING! This is my goal look. Would you mind sharing what a typical week of workouts look like or share the plan you have been following? I lift 4x a week and is been over a year and half and I definitely need to change things up! I'm at about 24-25% body fat, and I need to get rid of the back rolls for my…
  • Amazing! Great job keeping at it! You should be very proud of yourself.
  • Height: 5'5" SW: 180 CW: 136 I started with eating at 1200 calories, only eating some of my exercise calories back. This isn't my first try at trying to lose weight. They say the third time is the charm. I decided to give weight training a try and it's the best decision I've ever made. I've been following the Strong Lifts…
  • Wow! Awesome job! You are doing great!
  • Nic legs! I'm 39 and lost 50 pounds over a year ago. Definitely the best shape of my life... I can run for HOURS, kickbox, Zumba, you name it! Most 20 something's would be hard pressed to keep up with most of us oldies but goodies on this site! LOLL!! [/quote] Thanks!!! It's taken me a long time to learn to love my legs.…
  • Pics or it didn't happen huh. This was this past Feb. Those are my two boys, 14 and 6. You can also see my youngest, she is going to be 5. My oldest constantly comments on my 'brolickness'. I'm guessing he's talking about my muscle gains lol. It's doable at any age at any stage in your life. It's just takes a little time.
  • I'm 34 and I'm in the best shape I've ever been in my life! Age is just a number, what matters is that want to make a change and are willling to engage some patience to go along with it. I'm far from a success, I have many fitness goals in mind. I have abandoned the number on the scale (ok maybe not completely) but Im…
  • Goals!!!! You look amazing! One day I shall see my abs. I'd settle for the outline at least!
  • I wish I had taken photos. I want to kick myself a thousand times! I started Feb 2016 at 164 (not my highest). I was up and down and was pretty much the cardio queen. This time I knew I wanted to do things differently and had been looking into SL. I followed the program (not always to the T, sometimes would skip a week and…
  • That's crazy. Did it take that long to diagnose you or did you just think what was happening was 'normal'? I infrequently suffer from severe bloating and pain in the gut. It used to be more often but I have cleaned up my overeating and the types of food I consume but still have some symptoms from time to time. What are the…
  • "I don't just ask, I just do it." So true! So often we have this inner battle when we give ourself that opportunity to choose. I still struggle with this sometimes. I begin the inner discussion then I'm like NO! You are going, that's final! Lol. Congrats on all of your hard work. Wishing you the very best on the rest of…
  • It CAN BE DONE. No idea why it autocorrected to say cannot, sorry!!! But I should have checked before posting.
  • Welcome and congratulations on the start of the most important journey of your life: the journey of YOU! I am 34, mom of 13, 5 and 4 year Olds, 5'5 1/2" and currently at 136. I started to get really serious February of 2016, weighing in at 175 (but have yo-yo'd up as high as 250 over the course of my momhood). It CANNOT be…
  • 2016 was the year I really committed to a healthy LIFESTYLE. Not just working out and trying different diets to lose 5-10 lbs then stopping. I really took the time to get to know myself and be patient with the process. No more fast fixes. If I didn't lose weight for a week or 3 I just kept on going. Eventually I'd see…
  • 30 lbs?! That's amazing! Of course it's worth celebrating! Congrats to you for all of your hard work. Just always remember to be kind to yourself and always power through even if you hit a small set back, it's not all lost if you have a piece of delicious sweet potato pie! Life is about balance and enjoying your journey.…
  • @33bbcc33 thank you! Definitely a whole different world when adding in weights. I'm seeing results I've never seen before in my 10+ years working at this. I'm just trying to get rid of the last of my mommy gut. Here's to reaching those goals really soon! ;)
  • You are my measurement twin lol! I started at 164 in February currently down to 135.4. I want to get down to 125 but I'm not too sure how I would look so I'm going to play it by ear while I continue to lift weights. You look great!
  • You are not alone! I grab a familiar size at the store and when I go to try it on its like someone is pranking me and replacing the clothes with much larger sizes. I'm currently wearing a small and 4/6 which I can't remember when was the last time I wore that size so my brain just isnt ready to get on the bandwagon. As…
  • Every time I see this post I am more amazed by your success. Can you share what you are doing in terms of lifting? Are you supplementing with other workouts? Thank you and continue to SLAY honey!
  • It's your day and you do what you want! That said, I understand you want to address your bridesmaids concerns. Check with a few dress shops and see what is the drop dead timeframe for you to go look at dresses but still have time for alterations. Don't quote me but places like David's Bridal usually have a 6 week deadline…
  • 1 day at a time, hun. You do your very best everyday. Will everyday look and be the same? Nope, but as long as you do your very best before you know it you will be at your goal. Best of luck to you!
  • Today is just one of many. Enjoy the rest and start back up tomorrow. Don't be so hard on yourself.
  • When I work out my tdee it gave me about 1200-1300 cals a day. I'm wondering if I should up my calories or at least eat back my exercise calories? So much to learn!!!
  • This is an amazing transformation. You give me hope that if I continue my weightlifting that I could have half the definition and tone you do. Damn girl, you are an inspiration!
