It would depend what's in them, really. What are you making yours out of?

Are you taking the piss? False charges for rape are no higher than for any other crime. Most rape victims don't bother to report their attacks because of exactly this attitude. Furthermore, I have nothing against men. I was raped by a woman, and I don't have anything against them as a group, either.
-
Yes. Rape victims are frequently asked for their sexual history, and an inordinate amount of attention is paid to their clothes. You're very lucky to be so far removed from that world. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=slutwalks&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

These are not differences between the sexes. These are stereotypes. Women are not biologically pre-determined to wear make-up, or spend thousands on wedding dresses, or obsess over getting old. Those are cultural ideas, not differences between individuals.
-
No, I didn't. Your point was, you found it amusing. I explained why I didn't, even in jest. Especially when you have people commenting who think it's "so true", or that the idea that women can do all those things is shocking.
-
There are very few things on the list which actually require one to be male or female. So yes, women can "get away" with most of the things on there. However, posting the list did not 'end the battle of the sexes' - rather, it spread the stereotypes even more. Take a look at what you just said. You seem to assume that it's…

Me too, with the snacking. Take a look at today's midnight to 6am bit of my diary.:( (for context, it is now 2am). Few tips for drinking; it's the mixers that'll get you. Slimline tonics, diet sodas, even water, all better options. Also, dancing burns quite a lot of calories. If you're going to drink, burn it off that way.

What would you say the optimum amount of protein is? Of course, it varies person to person, but if you were to make a generalisation? I find that most nutritionists say 10-15% is good, but, of course, I'm looking for that info as a vegan. I find omnivores tend to recommend a much higher amount, more in line with what they…

The only assumption I've made in that post, without fully attributing it to being merely my experience and opinion, is to avoid overly processed foods. It'd be interesting to see someone argue against that. Personally, I find that refined sugar gives me a horrible rush. Jittery, flushed, warm, then sleepy.><
-
Generally speaking, you should avoid heavily processed food, which includes white flour, white sugar, etc, as well as ready meals, sweeteners, junk food... In other words, as a general rule, stick to good natural (ish) foods - So, carbwise, whole grains, vegetables, etc. Beyond that, play with it. Personally, I find that…

I don't think it was meant to be, either. How depressing, that people can find something funny in repeating a list of outdated, sexist stereotypes to each other.

I can't decide which gender this is more insulting to.

What I usually do is take in sandwich ingredients - a sliced vegan sausage, deseeded cucumber and tomato slices, bread, lettuce - and make the sandwich during my break. It feels much more special, and it's so fresh. Of course, that's not really an option for you; you could try googling 'bento' for ideas? Bentos are…

What's stopping you? I'm only run/walking for three miles atm, and the running part is only for a minute and a half right now. I'm aiming to run the half on October 23rd. Worst case scenario is, I run/walk it, but even then, I should be fast enough to officially finish. You did mention running every day, though...are you…

Personally, I feel thirsty, and wake up dehydrated, if I get under 4 litres/16 cups a day. I think, ideally, I need to be drinking more like 5-6 litres/20-24 cups. It varies between people, though.

Hi.:) On maintenance and training for my first half marathon.

We know this. The calories MFP gives are based on how many you will burn in a day, minus a healthy deficit for weight-loss. You're not saying anything wrong or inaccurate, but your post is misleading, and the lack of specific info means that it can very easily be read as instructions for starving oneself. Edit: Which it…

I agree. I think, for the vast majority of people, this would be unhealthy, and unsafe. How tall are you? If you are very short, ie, under 5'2, it might just be okay. Bear in mind that the 1200 figure refers to net calories, not just calories eaten.

Wow. I'm always amazed at people who start swearing without bothering to read what they're angry about.:/ I'm sure he's nice other times, though. bcl003, I used to date someone who was like that. In his case, he'd gone vegetarian at the age of seven, and if there wasn't a vegetarian option, he wouldn't eat. As an adult, he…

Your anecdotal evidence does not disprove statistics. It simply places you in the 70% who do get food cravings. You could try toast pizza? Slice of toast under the grill with tomato puree and veggie toppings.

Good morning from sunny Birmingham!

It doesn't affect me, but then, my periods are extraordinarily light. I use a menstrual cup, and I only lose 20ml of blood, compared to most other women who use them, who are up in the triple digits. I always thought I was normal, and then it was like, oh. OH. I have no clue what you ladies are going through, I'll be over…

I've been getting a lot better at keeping sugar down recently. The trick is, lots of veggies, less fruit. If you take a look at my diary, bear in mind that today, I ate pretty badly, and tomorrow, I plan to go over because I'll be running, and then doing two hours of krav maga in the evening.
-
Hi there. You can check out my diary or my blog (link in sig) for ideas.

I find that high sugar foods will make me crave more of them. Most of the foods listed here seem to be very high sugar, so it could be that. Btw, I'm a vegan. Take a look at my diary if you like. If you want any of the recipes, just ask.
-
MFP has the deficit built in. If you eat at the (net) calories given, theoretically you will lose the amount of weight you specified. Any other calories you burn, outside of your normal daily activity, are on top of that. There is some debate over this; some people find they don't lose weight at all without eating their…

Btw, I find that vegetables are an acquired taste. Just keep exposing yourself to them. After about thirty tries, you should be able to eat them fairly easily, and if you still don't like them, then fair enough. Just bear in mind that it takes time for your tastebuds to adjust. I made a rule about including one fruit or…

I mix it into lasagne, queso sauce, homemade baked beans, smoothies...

I really think you should speak to someone about your poor body image. You don't deserved to be attacked like that, especially not by yourself. You should not feel that bad.
