Thanks so much for your kind comments. Seeing the Consultant this afternoon so will get an update on the X-ray and what he thinks. Anterior is through the front rather than the bottom muscles, is that correct? He specialises in people who need to get back to full time work and has written papers on the subject so I am…

Thanks! Seeing consultant tomorrow for the next stage . He actually told me not to exercise for the moment but to try to lose around 2kg since our last meeting. This I have done... wondering whether to suggest waiting another 6 months to continue to lose weight but will take his advice...

Whoops. 114kg to 102.5kg loss to date!

114 to 193.5 in 10 months so very slow but getting there and is sustainable. Will be very happy to get to 100kg by Christmas and then start heading for 90kg,

Next time have it with soda. Easy to say I know!!!

I love venison and my hubby makes chilli version and I do a low fat stroganoff. We have a sous vide machine so coat the venison with dried paprika and black pepper or jerk spices and sous vide for at least 1.5 hours. Make the sauce separately and then put together with some mashed potatoes after getting back from a kong…

Thanks everyone. I have now lost two stone and have been referred to the consultant. The gp would not do this before as I was so obese. X-rays done and appt tomorrow. The consultant has a great reputation so we shall see. I am still on the orlistat but being very careful. So far so good. More flexibility in the hip since…

Thanks Jon! Swimming and the recumbent bike is about all I can do. Walking uphill is painful. I have good days and bad days. My consultant actually said to take it easy with exercise as I could make things worse. The weight loss is very slow but it is happening. Difficult to stay positive but I am trying...

I am losing weight without much exercise and still have carbs but not to excess. It is working and my blood pressure is back to normal. I eat about 150g of potato in my main meal or a cup of cooked rice. If I want to lose the bloat in order to wear a party dress I cut out carbs more but still have some. My body feels…

Water retention can account for a plateau and can be frustrating. Try eating at maintenance for a bit and possibly increase your cals a little and see if you can maintain at a higher level. Give the “diet” a break for two weeks. You may be surprised. Then set to cut only half a pound a week and see how you get on. It is…

I lost a lot of weight four years ago on keto but ballooned back up as soon as I had a “normal” diet. I am dieting again but this time have included some carbs and nothing to excess. It is working and I feel much healthier. This is now more like a lifestyle rather than a diet. It has been slower to lose the weight than…

That is great. I don’t think I ever want to be alcohol free but want to control it empathetic than the other way round. I do love good wine. The last time I was successful I cut out all booze during the week and bought two expensive bottles which I shared with hubby over the weekend. This worked and we saved a lot of money…

End of my first week of activity cutting down and 1lb off. Good! Even though the alcohol fits into my cal allowance I am sure it is hindering my weight loss. Will try this again this week. Playing violin for a show so will be careful during the very sociable after show drinks sessions. A mixture of healthy home prepared…

Went out with my Canadian cousin last night and she ordered a bottle of red with dinner. I had one glass so quite pleased. It was a very nice dark Italian red too! Hubby out tonight so planning on not drinking at all. Weekend could be tricky but will try my best. Show week next week so will have to be good at the bar in…

That is great Sofia!

That is a very honest statement :-)

I am finding this thread quite inspiring - it is very easy to guilt oneself up…. I think I am going to continue this thread contribution after November and up to Christmas! Thanks for the inspiration everyone!

@lporter229 Hmm, I think we need to retrain our husbands. He is cooking risotto tonight. I said I did not want any alcohol and he asked me "are you sure"... he used to not drink wine if I wasn't but has, more recently, opened a bottle in front of me anyway. I am not finding this helpful!

You can add me if you like. Around 1500-1600 a day and also low fat (not for everyone but working for me).. My diary is open to friends.

Meal and show out with a girlfriend last night. The pre-show meal deal included one small glass of white wine. Which I really enjoyed... but I limited myself to that and am proud of it. Hubby cooking tonight so might have a problem as he tries to pour the stuff down both of us...

feel free to friend me... I am very slowly losing weight and it is hard but my diary is open as our my MFP friends on here.

That is great to hear Jenny. I can't exercise easily due to hip injury but am finding this thread is really making me think about my consumption... I need to get my hubby on board as, sadly, he tends to derail me... But when home alone I am not tempted so am relieved by that! I do appreciate everyone's honesty on here as…

Jenny that is amazing! well done - do let us know if this is reflected on the scales - you deserve it .

did it work?

Friday - went out to dinner with friends. I volunteered to drive. Had one small glass of wine and that was it. Saturday - off to a film with hubby and dinner afterwards... Had mineral water instead of an aperetif but did have half a bottle with the meal. He was treating me and I wasn't driving! Sunday - home cooked low fat…

23 lbs down and it has taken me along time but my female boss, who rarely talks to me at all and just lets me get in with it, complimented me yesterday and said the loss was starting to show. I have a long way to go but that comment made my day. Well done everyone...
