For convenience just discovered marks and Spencer’s lamb curry with rice, the healthy life version. Really good and one of the few convenience food ranges that I like...

I but cheap plums or rhubarb once a week and stew them gently in the microwave with a small amount of vanilla sugar. Takes 20 mins max. Then decanted into sterilised jars and used with the oatvrab. I also mix some with yoghurt and freeze for low fat puddings...

1/2 bottle of wine with a curry yesterday but refused a comp. g and t beforehand and port afterwards... so not proud of myself but at least I said no to the extras...

It is exactly the same for me… Friday mornings are my best time and Monday mornings my worst. As long as the scale is downwards or the same and doesn't go up at the end of the week I can live with that!

Thanks so much for starting this thread. I am trying to have 2 alcohol free nights a week and then increase those. I am really interested to know if you lose weight faster by doing this. My wine is factored into my cal allowance and I am losing 1 lb a week at the moment but it would be great if this sped up… I love the…

Well done! You look fantastic and have a lovely face.. how long does 10,000 steps take you in total. Like the idea of the audio book to stop the boredom.. Looking into this although have limited mobility - can walk on the flat but not stairs easily. I am 22 lbs down and looking to the next 20 off :-)

I was told in 2016 I would need a hip replacement and told to lose weight. It was very difficult to exercise due to the pain. I am down about 24 lbs now and have been allowed to see a Consultant. I will know in a few weeks if I have lost enough weight for the op... I quite understand the medical reasons for delaying the op…

Following this! I need to cut back and it is not easy... best of luck!

Hi there. I have to lose weight for a hip op and am down 20 lbs in nine months. Very slow but a lot better than nothing. Eating fairly low fat but not cutting out any particular food group. Seems to be working. Good luck! I am trying yoga but still finding it painful but helps with movement and stops me from stiffening up.…

that is a great post.. It has taken me 9 months to lose 20 lbs but I have got used to a whole new way of eating.. I still have a long way to go but your detailed post above is really helpful. Love the comment about the fajitas!

You are looking so much better... really well done.

You can see the difference clearly in your pics. Whatever you are doing , keep going!

Very inspiring and you look great. I like the fact that you listened to what your body required and didn't do anything faddy... I am getting there but slowly but can stick to one square of chocolate a day as a treat and am no longer tempted to binge. Cheese is another matter so is banned until I can control myself!

Vodka and fever tree diet tonic (the only one I like)...

All these comments seem so familiar!

I have lost around 20 lbs in 9 months with 2 months off for good behaviour so not bad... trying to pluck up the willpower to do a bit more swimming... I have now seen the Consultant and my GP confirmed that I had made an effort and lost some weight so fingers crossed. The pain is making life rather difficult and I am not…

Hi Piqueboo.... I take everything you said on board... My problem is that I can't exercise due to bone on bone arthritis and severe pain. I can do a bit of walking and gentle swimming, until I sieze up! The orlistat has helped and I make sure I keep my vitamin levels up too. I stopped for two months and found that I…

My husband loves pouring good wine down me which is very hard to resist! However, he is supportive when eating out. I usually don't have a starter and, if eating a curry as a main course, take half home. He hates low cal spray oil and, when he is cooking, I have to make sure he only puts one tbsp of olive oil in a dish for…

Hi Mish, just seen this! Orlistat is the 60mg dose available from the pharmacist and Orlistat/Xenical is 120mg dose and only on prescription. Re chair yoga - I have started Iyengar yoga and am finding it hard but am keeping at it. My GP has just given me another 3 months supply for Orlistat and I am hoping to drop another…

10% weight loss for me over a 5 month period - hoping to do the same over the next 6 months...

You look fantastic and what a lovely dress... well done!

Just stunning! Really well done and what a contrast to your older picture! You look like your much younger sister now..

I just thought I would update people who made helpful comments on here. Now down 22 lbs. A long way to go but quite encouraged! I can do some basic swimming, stationary bike and treadmill now on "good" days when my hip does not hurt too much.. I have more movement in my leg and hip than previously so in a better place than…

Weight loss is not linear and you will find it difficult to maintain trying to lose 2 lbs a week through an entire year unless you are going to eat at so low cal you might as will be a rabbit :0).... set MFP for 1.5 lbs and see how that goes.... or set for 1 lb a week loss and then, if you are under that a little you will…

Agree with the last poster - look at 1500-1600 cals and see how much weight you lost with that and settle for 1 lb a week weight loss rather than 2. It does take a great deal of patience. I have lost 22 lbs slowly over just over 4 months. MFP sets me at 1200 if I want to lose 2 lb a week but I can't sustain that so eat…

Hi Nicola! Meet up with a friend you have not seen for six months and I bet they will notice... I am 22 lbs down and am starting to get some very encouraging comments. I have a long way to go.. Everyday I look in the mirror I can't see it but it is noticeable that my clothes are getting looser. And some holiday clothes I…
