OK, some tough love here... you dont have much to lose, what happens if you set MFP to 1/2-1 pound a week weightless. Does it give you more calories? You might find it easier to eat at a higher level than 1200, enjoy the food and lose weight a little more slowly. This will also make it easier when you get to maintenance.…

Hi Rosie, well for a start you look amazing from your profile pic.... Just be careful not to go down to 1200 despite what MFP says unless you have little to lose. Better to go for a realistic goal of 1 pound a week weight loss and stick with that. Quite honestly you can eat well at around 1600-1800 or higher and still…

Oh thanks! I will take that advice and recalculate in about 5-6 weeks. :-)

I love eating out and do so at least once a week. Italian, I stick to fish and grilled meats. If I am faced with a 10 oz steak I will eat it and compensate the next day. Indian, I love curry and will eat it for breakfast. I regularly go to 3 Indian restaurants and they are used to me eating half and taking half back, for…

This exactly! I seem to be happiest at around 1800 a day and will recalculate once I drop another 14 pounds. Working so far so happy!

I had a similar issue with my trainer so she compromised. Hitt plus bodyweight training and then, after 6 sessions, we progressed to lifting. Like a previous poster mentioned, my trainer also discovered some weakness on one side and worked to address this. I am now enjoying a combination of concentrated cardio that I can…

I do the same as weekends with the family are always difficult to keep control of calorie-wise so sometimes, I try to get a 200 deficit for 2-3 days in order to fit in more at the weekend. Seems to work..

That is fantastic!

My scales are in the bathroom but on a flat tile. They are accurate. I weigh everyday but have learnt not to beat myself up if there is some fluctuation. My weightloss is very slow but the inches are coming off. I keep an old pair of trousers that, when I started Mfp, could not get over my hips comfortably. Then they would…

I eat them in moderation, around 150g and I do weigh! As part of my calorie count I really enjoy them. We get purple potatoes in the Uk too. Love the older varieties and also Jerseys, Charlottes, Roseval etc...

Unfortunately, I have to agree.... I am seeing real progress in arm shape, legs etc doing weight training but still have a lot of belly fat and a lot of weight loss to go...Wheat makes me bloat but it is depressing when the belly fat is hard to shift. That said, I got into a pair of trousers today that have not fitted me…

That is wonderful ! I am 53 too and have only lost 24 lbs in a year but I do feel so much better. You are very inspiring!

Feel free to add me. I have met some very supportive people on here!

Same here. They dont make me bloat like rice does and I love the different varieties. As long as I log the weight accurately and fit them into my daily cal allowance they are fine.... Bread and rice for me are far worse!

53 here and doing EMTWL. Working slowly but surely. I exercise 2-3 times a week only as it takes time for my muscles to recover after lifting. Am losing inches and my shape is changing. I love being able to eat properly and still lose weight. Good luck and it is worth it!

If you have a little to lose you can set the loss to 0.5 pound a week and see what MFP tells you. Personally I would not go below 1400. A lot depends on your current height and weight too. If you are planning to exercise and do the MFP method do eat the exercise calories back. If you are doing the TDEE - 15% method do not…

5'8" and currently 220 down from 242, having lost 22 pounds approximately but it took a year! Currently on 1800 a day and losing slowly...next target is 90kg = 198 lbs

Hi Anita, another EMTWL convert here. I lost my initial weight eating 1400 a day. 5'8" tall. Lost around 15 pounds then stalled for ages. Upped slowly to 1800 and could probably go higher but this is working, albeit rather slowly. What is interesting is that I have not gained weight by upping and I feel much better on my…

1200 is quite low so, yes, eat them back... I am currently on 1800 cals a day but do not eat them back. I exercise 2-3 times a week. Good luck with your progress!

Ha Ha! Love that last comment... weight training is really helping me too. A long way to go but seeing results. I have a good trainer who is encouraging without making me do stupid things and I have confidence in her.... To the OP, your photos are amazing!

love it! Does scuba diving count ?!!

Hi Ladies I love eating at home alone because I can choose what I want to eat and log the calories exactly. I am doing the EMTWL method so don't beat myself up too much. 1) Pork chop with fat, broccoli, cauliflower and some potato or scrap the potato and follow with half a Fage yoghurt and some Agave syrup. Vegetables are…

I can't stand Clara either. Loved Billie Piper and Catharine Tate....\

24pounds down so half way to my goal. I drink masses of water and feel much better than before. The Op advice is really sensible..

Bloody Mary's for me. Tomato juice is relatively low in cals and Vodka not too bad!

It just goes to show. Really well done. I now know that at 53 I have no excuses. Thank you for inspiring me today!

I can recommend Gogo as a good Mfp to have! Very inspiring! Add me if you like as I am slowly upping and my diary, sins and all , is open to friends :-)

Waist and arms! I am very envious!
