Having seen your photograph, go to the reunion and knock them dead! Much more fun. No brainer....... and how many of these office people do you normally see outside of work anyway?

10 minutes warm up on the rower 40 minutes weights - not heavy lifting as yet but managing around 18 lbs on the chestpresses and deadlifts and around the same on the bicep curls. so a long way to go! 20 minutes on the Stepper set on Interval so 2 minutes fairly relaxed followed by 2 minutes hard work. This seems to be…

Thanks for posting this. I have been wondering the same thing..

just log in 2500 a day! And cut when you get back

Cant resist this! "Danny" Hawaii Five 0!

"Just put it on 1 lbs a week. Eat back most of your exercise. Enjoy life. It take some time but will work better." Yup! Maybe you have a reason to go for such a fast weight loss rate but, in the long term, it will be difficult to sustain, especially as you get nearer maintenance. Good luck and well done for asking your…

Definitely I find this! I went to the gym last night and had a bowl of pasta before bed (still within my calorie limits). I slept like a baby!

I log my weight most days in my food notes section but only publish losses. It is taking a long time but I do feel so much better. I am very lucky in having some motivating friends on here that don't criticise me too much when I fall but pick me up and help me to get on with it...... this is the longest I have ever stuck…

well done! I dont lift quite as heavy as people here, at least not yet, but have been seeing results...... It is a brilliant way to lose inches.... welcome!

I would just like to say that Scorpio T is one of my role models!

First of all you have a lot going for you. You realised you had to do something before you gained the weight back; you have a supportive partner; you haven't put all the weight back on! So, maybe try a loss of 1 pound a week only, no more than that. Look at exercising 3 times a week rather than going mad. The whole point…

Exactly this for me too! Irregular periods, some night symptoms err all rather annoying. Last year my weight shot up 6kg in a very short period of time for no apparent reason. Had my thyroid checked but all ok so what to do? Suffered from really bad leg cramps that had my waking up screaming. Started MFP in September in…

That is the worst by far!

10 minute warmup on rower 30 mins weights 20 mins cardio on amt It is working. Others split their cardio and weights days completely.

44 FF to 38GG so definitely decrease in band size less so cup size so far.

This is so encouraging and thanks for posting. I am 53 and on baby barbells and dumbells. Around 15kg at the moment. Not quite enough for strong lifts but I will get there. I have a female trainer who works with me one every three weeks and spots me at other times. So far I am really enjoying the compound lifts and looking…

Thank you so much for posting. Firstly you look great! Secondly your post was just what i needed. I was getting very depressed with recent success stories sayoing someone had lost say 30 pounds since January! Mfp is workjng for me but I figure it will take ne two years to get to my goal weight. Your report is really…

That is a very good question. For me, goal size of UK 14 would do me fine! But it would be nice to reach a target weight too!

That is a great way of putting it. Happy to have an 8-week body recomposition if I am still losing inches as long as the weight starts to come off after that. Thanks for posting your story, very interesting....

I upped my cals to 1700 a week from around 1500. i have done this for the past 2 weeks. I have gained a bit of weight but have now stalled. However, since starting lifting - about 2 months ago, I have dropped a dress size and am thrilled about this. It is very frustrating not seeing the scales go down but I am going to…

Your arms look amazing!

"you can reduce body fat eating at your maintenance calories as long as your doing alot of resistant training." This is what I am finding. Weight is staying roughly the same with small losses but inches are falling off. I do some cardio but concentrate more on the weight training.

Eeeeek! . Happy weekend everyone! I really hate the spooky picture though. Love David Tennant in the rain.....

Bump this thread for later!

Bump for future. This is a great thread!

Definitely this! Maybe we should start an over-40s weight lifting group!

at 53 I am lifting 2-3 times a week, nothing too heavy yet and being really careful with form. So far it appears to be working. I never go up a weight until I feel confident to do so and them am very careful. Still on baby weights ie 7kg dumbells for tricep kickbacks and chest presses and flys and 12.5kg barbells for…

Really inspiring!

Thanks for posting this. Your stats are similar to mine and I am thinking about upping to around 1700-1800 as I am stalling at around 1570. I will give it a go!

Thanks for this! I use the machine estimates not MFP and assume they are overestimating by around 15%. I will up me cal rate and give it a go! The weight training seems to be having an effect so fingers crossed. It would be great to be able to do this at around 1700-1800 if I could.
