That's not the way calories work.... Food is packed with nutrition... calories are not packed with nutrition. Calories are a measurement of energy from chemical bonds between different atoms.

Eating in moderation is best because you will be filled and get adequate calories and nutrients.

First, some people are here are saying really unhelpful comments. Second, sounds like you need to have a few more conversations with your husband. You are motivated, you are willing, but you are energetically compensated! And it's so not fair that you are doing all the work and he's not--and as a result your health is…

!!!!!! (I work in nutrition FYI) I think what a lot of people are missing out of your post is that you used to be obsessive and you don't want to be obsessive anymore. I think that right now, you need to accept your body as is BUT find a way to be active with the heat and eat in moderation...... getting obsessive again can…

I said being low calorie doesn't necessarily make something good. You all need to learn how to read and need to get off these boards. I've been on mfp for 4 years and this is the first time I've really paid attention to these boards and all I have to say is: stop getting your information from people who don't know anything…

Kalikel, I appreciate your insight but I'm not talking about people who just want to lose weight. I'm talking about people who are misusing the word. Low calorie is not interchangeable with healthy. That is the topic.

Stop listening to people say something is good for you because it's low in calories. Coffee has benefits and repercussions: it has antioxidants but can ruin the lining in your stomach overtime with its acidity. Down the road (late adulthood) you may find problems with excreting bowels properly due to lots of coffee…

Maintain Maintain Maintain! Continue eating your assigned amount of calories until you see your nutritionist on Monday--or switch to maintenance calories like above suggested. The likelihood that you will gain more on 2300 is small. Do you have any anxiety exercises that will help you till Monday? I know Monday may seem…

Be careful! myfitnesspal is a big trigger for people with an ED history!!! Seeing a professional who knows your background is the best way to lose weight in a healthy manner, both mentally and physically.

Hi! I'm 20, 5'7, 160, and a nutrition student (what are the odds... I just gain weight when I'm stressed at school!) I would love to be friends and get going on this weight loss journey with someone! Add me.

Chamomile is typically used to induce sleep but tea is definitely better than coffee. Just adding in--there's not a lot of research on effects of Stevia on the body. Not saying it's dangerous, but truth is we don't know if it is or not. My advice: switch to tea and add a tsp of honey in there for every 8 oz. over time, use…

YES. It's a great idea. Although diet coke has no calories, the chemicals in it spike your blood sugar. When it drops again, it stores sugars into fat. Also, aspartame is poison. Just stick to water. If it's not that easy making the initial switch, try mixing some fruit water together and slowly take out less and less…

Someone posted deli meat above and I'm just saying: NO DELI MEAT. If you're mom is on cardiac meds, she especially should not be having deli meat because it is so high in sodium. They are also high in chemicals and nitrates, etc. If you're a meat family, try to stick to grilled chicken and turkey. Lean meats can be really…

Excuse me ALL who are going to comment on her age... yes she is under the appropriate age to be here but the girl is looking for help. If her age is what you are worried about please do not bother adding your opinion.

Hey there. I'm a 19 year old Nutritional Science student who is also an intern at a peer-education group that promotes awareness of eating disorders. I have many friends with eating disorders and many friends who are Registered Dietitian's that work with patients with eating disorders. First, I'd like to say…

Hey there! I'd love to be a mentor. Not sure how long I've been on MFP but I'm 19 yrs old, very conscious of my health and am currently studying Nutritional Science and Dietetics. Some MFP related fun facts: -I'm studying Nutrition -I'm an athlete -I'm recovering from B.E.D. -I come from an overweight family -Total foodie…

It's definitely a huge lifestyle change which can totes make you tired! If you're not used to consuming that amount of calories, of course you're going to be a little tired. But also, look at what you're eating. Is the food you're eating giving you the energy you need? For example, of course fruits and vegetables are very…

Honestly, it depends what is more sustainable for you in the long run. Personally, I would rather work out before work because by then time I come home from work I am EXHAUSTED. However, some prefer coming home from work, resting, and then working out. Try both and see was is easier for you to maintain in the long run.

Now I haven't been in this relationship with you, nor has anyone else replying. But what you need to know and realize is there is no such thing as a marriage between a human and another human's weight. If you two are going to get married he won't be marrying your weight, he'll be marrying YOU. Regardless of how you feel…

Hey ladies! I'm totally here with you! I'm just looking for some motivation from friends, etc. but don't get much at home! We got this! Add me as a friend and we can talk healthy! :)

Wait I'm lost. Do you mean a 100% sugar free diet or a a 100% free ADDED sugar diet? They are two completely different things- and if it's 100% sugar free what do you consume? Water and splenda?

Add Me!

I am TOTALLY with you girl! It's a really hard thing to do especially when you are cooking the food. EVERY time you eat--especially meals--make sure you SIT DOWN, TAKE A BREATH, and TELL YOURSELF that no matter how hungry you are you are going to eat the meal at a steady pace. Really think about the food you are eating and…

If you need help, feel free to message me. I'm not a nutritionist but I'm studying nutritional science AND have struggled with B.E.D. since I was in 3rd grade. I'm also young and a fellow peanut butter and jelly lover- I think we'd be a great support system for each other.

It's probably the content of what you are eating. For example, I could eat around 1,400 calories some days and feel completely full. But that is because I'm mostly eating vegetables, fruits and lean meats. I also don't consume any liquid calories, and don't usually consume breads or dairy. I'm a binge eater, and I LOVE…

I usually start with 1 minute, then 1:30, then 2 minutes, then 2:30. Sometimes I'll go up to three, or I'll just go straight to 2:30- plank seems to get boring fast.
