My goal for January is 50 miles! Hey y'all -- I'm new to the monthly running challenge! 1/4 - 5 Miles

I run to prove something to myself -- that I can always work on becoming better at it with each step. And the chili dogs tastes much better after a really long run. ;)

My biggest fear is that I will always see me at my biggest weight in the mirror -- no matter how much weight I lose. That's a constant struggle for me.
-
I'd love to do something with all my medals and bibs but right now -- they're in a shoe box! :) As for my runs -- if I'm wearing my fuel belt, I'll keep running and just take sips of water when needed. You'll get used to the belt after a while. Good luck on your 10K!

I feel my marriage has become stronger since I've lost weight -- we met when I was 40 pounds heavier than I am now and at my highest weight -- I was over 70 pounds heavier. My husband has always been in good shape and quite active but never made me feel unattractive or anything like that when I was bigger. I think the big…

I'm lactose intolerant too -- Godiva's dark chocolate and sea salt bar doesn't have any dairy in it. Check the other dark chocolate Godiva bars to see if they are dairy-free too. Another thing I absolutely love is Silk's dark chocolate almond milk... it is so freakin' good! :p Breyers also makes a lactose free light ice…

My husband did the Super early last month and he focused most of his training on running the mileage with little weight training -- he did NOT prepare for the burpees. By the end of the 10+ mile race... I could see he was completely exhausted. He's doing the Sprint next week and he's been working on his upper strength more…

Agree with the above. Focus on how you're breathing during your runs.

Amazing job!! Hard work and dedication pays off!

Chick-Fil-A Nuggets or a Blueberry Bagel and Cream Cheese from Panera! :)
-
Wow! Congrats on all your progress! You look amazing!

Slow runner here! But I get it done! :) I've run 2 half marathons and am about to start training for my first 25K that'll be at the end of July. I'd love more runner friends!!
-
I would love to get it done in the morning before work but I am not a morning person -- so I exercise right after work before I head home. On the weekends -- I'll get a morning run in, usually.
-
I wasn't a fan of running either but ever since I started running again -- it's been great. The first mile is always the worst but it gets easier after that. I started with the Couch25K program so that's a good place to begin.

CONGRATS!!!!! 100 pounds lost is amazing!!!
-
You look amazing! Congrats!!!

I plan next week's dinners on Sunday before we go grocery shopping and I'll prep 3 days worth of breakfast and lunch that night. That leaves me 2 days during the week to go out and eat with my coworkers. Having a plan helps me stay focused but the flexibility keeps me from feeling like I'm being too restricted. :)

You are AMAZING! A huge inspiration! Congrats!!! I'm striving for 100 pounds lost too! I have 20+ to go!! :)

For my 1st half, I wore my FuelBelt and ended up giving it to my husband a little over halfway into the race because I didn't really need it with the water stops. For my 2nd, I didn't wear it and I thought the water stops were plenty during the race. I'm doing a 25K at the end of July -- I plan on having my belt with me…

Texas summers are BRUTAL! Mainly though -- I go to the gym for classes and exercise/weight machines but I usually do my runs outside.

My fastest 5K is 43:20, fastest 10K is 1:29:55 and fastest half marathon is 3:21:53. I'm slow but I still get out there and run the whole thing. I'm pretty sure I don't look like I'm running, LOL! I do want to get back to the basics and work on improving my 5K time and then work ahead. :)
-
I love this!!! :)

Don't worry about what they think... you need to do this for yourself. When I first started trying to lose weight... my parents chuckled when they saw me measuring my rice out before dinner. After a while, they knew I was serious and now, my mom makes healthier dishes when I come over for dinner. It's awesome! :)

Congrats on your progress!!

I've had PF for years but never got it checked. After seeing a foot doctor -- he gave me stretching exercises, icing, taking an anti-inflammatory and wearing a night splint -- it went away after two weeks.

Ditto on FitnessBlender. Also, Blogilates is a good one too!

Hi Ruth! I've actually been on MFP for 2 years but my first 6 months, I was pretty much on my own until I found the community. Now, I love seeing my news feed blow up with everyone's workouts, frustrations, accomplishments, etc... It is a great motivation for me and also, you know that you are not alone in this. I don't…

I joined my gym because it is around the corner from my house. I'm pretty sure if I joined a gym further away or not on the way home from work... I wouldn't go as frequently as I do.

This would've made my day!!! Congrats!!

Yessss! My last long run before my half marathon is on Sunday. I needed to see this! Thanks!
