Couch to 5k does wonders on the weight loss. Be sure to stretch afterwards so you can keep on running. Have fun with a great workout

With a treadmill you have to take in account that it is going at the same speed the whole time (example: 3.5 mph for 30 minutes). While using a pedometer you are not going at the same speed for the same amount of time (example: 2.5-4.0 mph for 30 minutes). I would say they are both fairly accurate for the conditions, but I…

Try drinking more, especially after doing hot yoga! You can get more calories drinking Gatorade or other sport drinks. You do not want to get dehydrated, so be sure to drink water as well. Good luck!!

I loved C25K! It got me running a 5k in a short amount of time. Be sure to STRETCH after each run to keep the muscles loosened up. I am going to start the Bridge to 10k app on April 1st.

Welcome to MFP! Try not to be discouraged, you are just beginning your lifestyle journey to a new you. The first week you will lose a lot of weight, which is water weight. After that you may gain a little or lose a little, you will not see a big weight loss like the first week. Keep up the great job on the exercise!! Try…

I would take zinc, but I would also make sure you are getting over what you have. Go to your doctor to get checked. It could also be allergies. I had a sinus infection and 2 weeks later I came down with a cold. I finally went to an allergist and found out I have a severe milk allergy, and now my sinus have never felt…

Try not to be discouraged, just make a few small changes and the pounds will come off. Park further away than you normally do, instead of emailing someone in the office walk over to talk to them, try standing up while on a phone call, and take the stairs as much as possible. Drink lots of water, use a reusable water…

I would try wearing shoes with good support, but I would also get checked out by an orthopedic to make sure you are damaging your knees. You don't want to get side lined by an injury or surgery. The doctor may just have you wear a brace when you exercise, but have it checked. Good Luck!

I like the Blufin Software one. It got me running two 5k runs last year. Just be sure to do the warm-ups, cool downs, and stretch with each run. You don't want to tear any muscles. I like that you can make your own playlist from your music. It is also fun to post how you feel after each run. I also have Runkeeper Pro,…

If you have an iphone or ipod touch try using the Couch to 5k app. It will help you get started running 3 days a week. Be sure to stretch after each workout. Good Luck!

I really like the white noise app or machine. I would try listening to the white noise and concentrate on your breathing. If that doesn't work try Tylenol PM.

When I was on WW I made my own pizza just so I could have eat it. I took a low fat, whole wheat pita (whole, not halved), tomato paste (seasoned to taste), veggies (bell peppers, onions, etc.), and a low fat cheese. I would spread about 2 Tbsp of seasoned paste on the pita, add the veggies, and two pinches of cheese. Baked…

Take a one month break from everything, don't track your calories or exercise. After the month start back up again slowly. Your body has gotten into a rut and needs a change. I took a five month break due to IVF and the holidays, gained a few pounds in that time, but now I am 10 pounds away from being below 200. I haven't…

I would go to a sporting goods store and get wraps for your calves. I bought two at ****'s sporting goods. They velcro around your leg while you exercise. Take your drs. advice and rest it for a few weeks.

I don't have a gym membership, but I do have a Wii. I really like EA Active for Wii. It gives you a great workout in a short period of time. I enjoy Just Dance for Wii. I also use yoga DVDs on my off days of working out.
