Hi I'm new here, but I am also a busy breast feeding mom to a 7 month old. I have always struggled with weight but using MFP I managed to reach my mini goal literally ONE WEEK before I found out I was pregnant. I stayed healthy and worked out 4-5 nights a week right up until I delivered. I have lost all but ten pounds of…

Thanks for all of your awesome suggestions!!! I am looking forward to trying them out.

I have been really lucky in that I haven't vomited once, have had no headaches, and no really gross pregnancy symptoms throughout my first trimester....HOWEVER - pain, cramping, and soreness were definitely something I did have to contend with. It was a really worrisome symptom for me because none of the women in my…

Hi everyone! I found a link to this thread on another pregnancy topic. I am 12 wks 5days pregnant (Due November 18th), and trying to keep up as much as possible with my diet and exercise regiment. I lost about 25 lbs since Christmas, and found out I was pregnant ONE WEEK after I bought my first pair of size 14s in…

Hi, I was 12 weeks pregnant this past Saturday, and I just wanted to let you know that you are doing GREAT!!! I am NOT 100 lbs overweight, but I lost 7 lbs since I found out I was pregnant - and that was without vomiting. My doctor is very comfortable with this and all of my test results have revealed that both baby and I…

I agree - definately more fruit and less pre-packaged foods. Oh - and upping the protein intake is a good idea too.

I am 8 weeks pregnant as well. I have been working out and eating a healthy diet for over a year now - and losing weight very slowly. A few months ago, I found MFP and measuring and recording really kicked my weight loss into high gear - which was great. My husband and I figure we should start trying, because it might take…

My snack rotation includes: A hard boiled egg (I boil a dozen at a time so I have them when I need them) A clementine (when they're in season) Fresh Strawberries A Light Baby Bell cheese round Wasa Crackers with a wedge of 35 cal laughing cow spreadable cheese wedge (total cals 105) A handful of almonds (sometimes I get…

It was so nice to read your post. I think God or fate or whatever you beleive in has an amazing sense of humor sometimes. Last weekend I bought a size 14 jeans - a size i haven't been able to wear in about 10 years. Literally, 1 week later I find out I'm pregnant. Do you beleive that?!??!!? I am feeling really weird right…

I made this tonight for the first time - and both my husband and I LOVED it! I know there has been a lot of talk about sodium concerns - so i thought id post another option. I used a packet of fajita seasoning instead of the low sodium taco seasoning - it has MUCH less sodium, but all of the flavor you want with the…

I have a huge playlist - but the ones that really get me going without fail are: I like to Move It- Reel to Real Come Baby Come - K7 Knights of Cedonia - Muse (this is amazing if you close your eyes and get into it - my best burns are to this song) Renegades of Funk - Rage Against the Machine Footloose - Kenny Loggins (I…

Awesome explanation!

It's a great tool because its so rewarding to log your food and exercise and see that you've made good decisions. Its nice to have a record of the changes we make, and to be congratulated for small victories - which will add up to big ones. Welcome - hope you love it as much as I do!

I'm with ya, girl!!! Joining the gym was an important first step for me - and joining MFP was one of the most exciting things I've done for myself in a long time. Making positive changes feels incredible, and I think MFP is such a great tool because it gives you so much motivation that might otherwise be missing. My…

For breakfast, I agree that protein, esp in the form of hardboiled egg will keep me satisfied for several hours. For lunch or dinner try eating tabouli wheat salad or quinoa with vegetables. Both are extraordinarily filling (trust me, I'm a bottomless pit), taste really great, easy to make, and have lots of valuable fiber…

Everything everyone else has said is true. Everyone's body is different. I lost 30 lbs and then stayed stuck at the same weight for almost a YEAR!!! Recently I posted on here asking for advice. What they told me really helped, so I will pass it on to you. Without seeing your diary, I can't be specific - but they encouraged…

I'm fairly new as well - and so far, it has been a huge asset to my weight loss. I think you'll love it. Good luck! (ps - LOVE your dog, I have a 4 yr old Boxer who is quite the character)

I agree - get some good cardio in to earn some extra calories....but if that's not possible - a very filling low calorie food that I fall back on from time to time is Tabouli Wheat salad. You can pick up a box mix near the rice and cous cous in the supermarket or you can get it freshly made from a mediterranean restaurant…

My must have groceries include: Lemons Clementines (in season) Strawberries (in season) apples romaine lettuce baby spinach cucumbers tomatos red onion bell peppers (often the frozen stirfry strips) fresh garlic cloves whole green beans spring water quinoa Tabouli mix lite salad dressings boneless skinless chicken breast…

Yeah, the soup is something I just added in the past week or two, and only for use when I'm short on time. I went grocery shopping tonight and chose a low sodium variety for next week. Regarding the pasta and rice - we usually eat long grain brown rice, and have just started to cook with quinoa. Does this constitute "high…

Thanks for all of the advice! I am going to try a little of everything you have suggested by lowering my sodium intake, eating more fruits and vegetables, and trying to shift more of my caloric intake to breakfast and lunch.

I have a huge list of music - but the songs that really get me going are Knights of Cydonia by Muse, Come Baby Come by K7, I Like to Move It by Reel 2 Real, Renegades of Funk by Rage Against the Machine, I Beleive in a Thing Called Love by the Darkness, and Fat Boy by Maxamillion.

This becomes so confusing, because I just read a huge thread on here that cites articles stating that "starvation mode" is a myth.

I feel your pain! I have been keeping a food diary on and off for over a year now. I managed to lose a size, but my weight is only down like 5 lbs total. I started with my fitness pal a few weeks ago, and I have lost 2 lbs. Loss is good, but it's frustrating. I am recording EVERYTHING and measuring everything and have been…
