Nice to meet you too, Lori 😊 That sounds like you’ve had good results! I think ‘stalling’ happens frequently with any plan. Over the years I’ve read and heard about the same path in other people. It is a common complaint. It seems to be a bodies evolutionary, natural reaction to changes like the ones we are making. Things…

Hi Lori! I just (re)joined MFP and searched for Virta, as I’m a new client with them. I hope you’re finding success with the plan. I am a Kaiser patient and Kaiser has no support available that’s even remotely close to Virta, only an old, grain heavy, outdated program for weight loss. My own primary Doc says she ‘doesn’t…

Hi Laurende, I've had Hashimoto's for 25 years. I've progressed from a mild form to my thyroid being pretty calcified and I've had to have biopsies and ultrasounds. Out of 6 different Endocrinologists I've had over the years, only one has ordered detailed blood work (without prodding) and agreed that how I was FEELING was…

They were rolling their eyes and looking in your cart because you were in the 15 items or less line...:grumble: Don't believe everything you think.

No one needs refined sugars. If you get your sugars from healthy foods, you're good to go. As far as dumping artificial sweeteners, SWEETLEAF is the way to go. Pure stevia, water processed, no chemical processing residue or other unneeded sugars (like maltodextrin and dextrose) in it. It doesn't get bitter like the other…

Hi there- Please feel free to add me- anyone is welcome to :) :flowerforyou: I focus on whole, full fat foods and clean eating. I joined 16 days ago and to my surprise, the support and interaction with my new buddies here keeps me going just as much as the accountability of logging. I love the camaraderie! I hardly ever…

LOL! The other shoppers probably thought you were cuckoo

Thanks Isabel! I got your request and added you. Glad to have another friend on this road who is focused on whole foods! Every time I completely cut out processed foods I feel better within days. This morning i got a whiff on someone microwaving a slice of Safeway pizza and it smelled just awful- like a yeasty sugar bomb.…

Got it and added you! Thanks and I look forward to the mutual support. :) PS Peet (my dog) says HI.

Another vote for hot sauce! CRYSTAL hot sauce to be exact. To make it stick, add a little EVOO to the bag or bowl first, coat thep opcorn and then add Crystal and shake it/mix it up again. I also *love* to add fresh parmesan, but that's not low fat or fat free. :ohwell:

LOL. A mean, uncured organic dog (like Applegate) will make it onto my plate every now and then... But I enjoy the four legged type every day, guilt-free. Thanks for the friend request! I look forward to seeing you here.

Roanne, I'm looking into taking Tumeric. It's a powerful anti-inflammatory. I'm using it more in my cooking. Taking the capsules seems to be the way to go- but they're pricy. You might check it out and see what you think. I hear you on getting out of the house to use the less-stressful-on-the-joints machines- personally, I…

Yum! Sourdough is my friend :) Sounds delicious! I'm in California so I know how lucky we are to have an abundance of fresh everything, right here. As well as amazing Farmer's markets that I don't utilize enough. Re: your knees- Ugh, that sucks! Losing weight helps our knees, but bad knees makes it hard to get…

Yay!!! Way to go! Here's to you! :drinker: (But don't drink that beer....LOL)

Thanks! What IS it about hot dogs?? I rarely come across them but a serious polish dog or sausage at a place that knows how to make them- with kraut....ohhhhh my. Garlic fries do that to me also. I guess we will always have favorite foods that make us clean(ish). I just aded you. :drinker:

Thanks EBK! I look forward to it as well. We can support each other through the FitBit sites as well, once mine arrives. I can't wait! I just added you.

Hi! Good job on the food changes! Not so good to hear about the friends and family, but that's what this place is for :flowerforyou: We'll stick together on here and Pfffffftttttt to the haters. P.S. I LOVE lemon heads...but I'm old enough to remember what they tasted like when they had real lemon in them.

Hi! Thanks for the link- I'm devouring all the good info and tips I can get. Better than devouring sourdough bread! I look forward to the journey!

Thanks! I just added you. I look forward to cheering each other on!

Hi Pitgrrrl- Good news on the FitBit One! Everyone seems to love it. I'm anxiously awaiting the UPS guy next week. I have been looking at the Aria scale too, but seems there are a LOT of problems with the set up. Like hours and hours of trying and- nada. Did you have any issues? I love the idea of it syncing automatically.…

Thanks FaeFaith- I just added you

Wow- way to go! Awesome story and the results are so wonderful. You worked hard and it paid off in spades. Kudos to you for posting before and after photos (even though your 'before' pic looked good too! No way am I doing before shots in a bikini LOL) The difference in your stats as well as the extra weight are…

Excellent advice. Thank you!

Yes- the main reason is that I have no health insurance. I'm trying to avoid spending thousands of dollars and being put on pharmaceuticals and see if I can get myself back to balance. I had had two mimosas at my sisters when I realized I felt sort of drunk and weird, so she suggested she check my level and that's when we…

Since I'm not sure what I'm really dealing with here in my case, I was thinking to test in the AM upon arising, and then at one hour and at two hours after each meal for the first few weeks. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks again for the help everyone :)

Thanks for your insight and support! I will post here if I gather more info (besides what gets posted here) about BG meter syncing/tracking options. I'm not very techie but living in Silicon Valley I'm surprised that MFP and the other sites don't have a relationship with the meter manufacturers and/or app developers to…
