  • Bad days always lead to more bad days for me. I can only handle a bad meal - not a bad day.
  • LOL. I know. I'm currently googling ways to slim down my thighs. I did the 30 day squat challenge in June and it did make a difference. I'm going to do it again in September. I guess we just have to thank God for the body we DO have, huh?
  • I was in the Marine Corps for 10 years and have steadily gained a lot of weight after I got out. 4 years of college after that didn't help much, either. My husband just retired from the Army after 24 years. We both are working towards a clean eating diet. I love it. I never realized how many different types of food there…
  • If you are finding jogging to be difficult, don't do it. Power walking burns a lot of calories and I do it when my knee is bothering me (had knee surgery last year) b/c the pounding of running hurts it sometimes. If you belong to a gym try the various cardio machines there, so as not to get bored. I know from experience…
  • Welcome, Mark! Congrats on deciding to be healthy. My one piece of advice would be to not let "slip-ups" ruin your day or week. I wish you the best and look forward to seeing your journey!

And at my normal weight of 125, it was always hard for me to stay there. I always felt like I was starving myself. But, with my new way of clean eating and juicing, I'm hoping I may be…
  • I don't mind! Yeah, I figured you had tried the squat/lunges route. I'm kind of a mix of pear and apple. Ha! Does that make sense? I'm trying to find ways to tone my lower body, too. I'm trying to get down to 135 pounds. I've been doing okay with strength training this week. I'm finding that I like the strength training…
  • Hi there! I'm the same height as you, only quite a bit heavier. :-) Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is much you can do about the pear shape thing. I've always heard that spot training doesn't work; but maybe squats and lunges? I really don't know and I don't want to give you the wrong advice! I'm responding because I…
  • You are right. Reducing food intake is only part of the equation. Do you like to exercise? Even walking is a great way to get some cardio in as long as you are walking at a pace that gets your heart rate up.
  • I agree with jdad1. I only know from experience.
