That was Gary Player (South African golfer), and what he said was "the harder you practice, the luckier you get". Still applies tho'.

Thing is, how do you look? The weight thing is just a number. Keep going, log accurately, exercise, and it will happen.

I too have injuries that prevent certain types of exercise (no running, cycling). I eat a small deficit ~10% and train 5 days per week with a mix of strength and cardio. Strength Training (3 days p/w): Deadlifts, Dumbell Rows, Bench Press, Squats, Pull Downs, Leg Raises ... followed by 30min swim Cardio (2 days p/w): 1…

Cals != PP WW put a weighting on fats. If you take 100 cals of chicken breast and 100 cals of butter, they will not have the same PP value.

Step 1) Browse M&S, Debenhams etc. for bras and lingerie Step 2) Open MFP and enjoy the view while you log your cals and browse forums Problem solved.

Exactly. I've done nothing 'faddy', just kept an average deficit. I think the exercise helps with that a lot. Diary is open if anyone wants to see how badly I eat (drink would be more precise) at times.

Been 4k over before. Still log. Why not? It's not what you do or don't log that has an effect; it's what you eat.

The scale auto-adjusts. As soon as your graph doesn't start with a zero, your scale will adjust too.

Any reason why you keep dragging him to people's weddings? Great job, by the way!

Another +1 for swimming. I have not been doing it long. Have gone from having to stop after 4 lengths to continuous swim for 40 mins in about 3 weeks. I have a bad lower back, so many cardio stuff is off limits (row, run, etc). Swimming is awesome.

You mean xkcd? Anyway, facts, figures, graphs, data, stats; logging this stuff is great. I also keep an external s/s with metrics that MFP doesn't offer.

Well, I think I already knew anyway :) Thanks folks!

I can pretty much guarantee anyone a surefire way of giving up coke, and it only costs £6 (~US$9) Just read this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belching-Out-Devil-Adventures-Coca-Cola/dp/0091927048

I have been trying to get a definitive answer on this front. Web searches show varying figures. I walk the course (buggies are not allowed in qualifying competitions anyway), but I do have an electronic trolley at the recommendation of my physio (lower back problems). GPS has it as a six mile walk for the 18 holes, and I…

Mass to x ratio would transpose to the term "x density". So a quick Google search of calorific density and low calorie density foods turns up many results. Probably best you you follow up from here... https://www.google.co.uk/#safe=off&q=low+calorie+density+foods

The problem is the quick swings in temp change. It wouldn't be so bad if it was this hot from May thru' August; we'd all aclimatise easily. As it is, the heat is uncomfortable at night and by the time we're used to it it will be back to 18/20 deg and we'll all be moaning it's cold. On the plus side, I'm seeing the golf…
