When I worked out with my trainer (Mel), he told me that we burned approx 600 cal in a 50 min session. So that would be about 12 cal / min. so 360 for a 30 min session... ?? I added it to 'my exercises' as "mel workout" in strength training.

I hate it too. I've had some success using the eliptical trainer at the YMCA.. they just installed little tv's on each one so I can watch a show, listen to my MP3 player, or both. When I'm in the middle of a workout & I have sweat pouring down my forearms and legs. I've also puked during a workout... felt like I was on the Biggest Loser. When I go home, take a shower & can't move any further than crawling into my bed for a nap.

Oh, and having a stress ball or a thing of Silly Putty by where I sit in the living room helps too. Keeps my hands moving without putting food in my mouth. We are worth taking care of, we deserve better, we can do this.

Guilty as charged here too. Especially when my hubby is traveling, the kids go to bed & I feel like I 'deserve' a treat, or I need comfort, or I'm lonely or bored.
