I completed my very first 5K! Ran it in 48 minutes, which may not be a great time, but a 16 minute mile is a major success for me! Can't wait to run my next one!

Hi! I'm in the dissertation writing phase of my doctorate. Yep, these past five years of grad school have been brutal emotionally and physically, so I know exactly what you mean. But you'll get through this!

It's official now!!

I've never done a challenge before, and this is a tricky month since I'm moving to another state in just a few days, so I'm going to set my goal low at 30 miles. But I know I can get this done ;)

Congratulations on your weight loss! You look amazing and your dedication is inspiring!

I agree with the comments already made. Scales can definitely be an enemy at times. Sometimes I get obsessed with them and start weighing myself everyday and then--of course!--I get disappointed by tiny progress or no discernible progress at all. Scales are an incredible tool for motivation, but I think one best used…

Hey! I live in Arizona, but my family is in California, so I'm often on the road to visit them, so I know just how you feel! Sometimes the trips are impromptu, so I don't always have the forethought to pack. My favorite on the road meal is probably Subway. I like the flatbread breakfast sandwiches with egg whites, avocado,…

This. Exactly.

Your huddled masses yearning to eat...a lot of crap. And lots and lots of cheese. Mmmmm...cheese.

This isn't about wholesale buying into an argument that all chemical processing is bad. I appreciate his article just as much as the first. Thinking of eating as an either all fresh and natural or all processed itself is a fallacy. Sure, the second source is written by a chemist, whose expertise I can more likely rely on,…

Hey Patrick, That's a really tough situation, especially working in a job that keeps you sitting (and alone!) for so many hours a day. It's hard to maintain a workout regimen and healthy eating on the road too. But it's not impossible. So you have a lot of challenges ahead of you. I agree with much the advice already…

Holy crap, that article was disturbing. I was aware that the European Union had long ago banned additives linked to breast cancer that are commonly allowed in American health and beauty products (parabens and pthalates), but I feel silly to say that it had never occurred to me that there might be similar cases with food.…

Bump. Thanks for the inspiring shares, everyone. Good luck to everyone in their journey :)
