And, therein lies the problem. We, as parents in the US, have failed miserably in this regard with our children. So, while you might be a doing a fantastic job teaching nutrition to your kids, most parents are not. And thusly, it's needed to be done in school. The US has what? 75% of it's population overweight? 30 some odd…

Make sure you keep your hands loose while running. Make a fist with your thumb inside, it will help keep your hands not as tense. Shoulder pain from running is generally from people tensing their arms while running. Making the loose fist, and keeping your thumbs inside encourages you to keep your arms loose.

I'm 5'10", and rather active. 1600 cals/day has me pretty burned out most of the time. 1400 cals/day is something I'd be able to do for like a month, before I zombified.

I love running. However, you don't have to run. You could cycle. Walk. Hike. Lift. Whatever you enjoy doing. But, that being said: I hated running too, during the C25K program, until I had gotten to the point where I was running non-stop for about 20 minutes. The start/stops were killing me, and I could never get into a…

Seeing as far more people are affected by obesity rather than anorexia/bulimia, this is good education to prevent future problems with diet. So, yes, kids should learn to count calories, so they aren't completely lost on why they put on the Freshman 15...

Another very salient point. If at the end of the C25K, you still don't like running? Find something you do enjoy. No use battering a square peg into a round hole. Maybe cycling is more your thing. Maybe hiking. Maybe just lifting (You still need some cardio, though, the heart is a muscle that needs gainz too).

This right here. The program even states if a week gives you trouble, repeat it, until it's not. Additionally, do you have properly fitted running shoes? If not, head down to your local running store, and pick up a pair.

If by paleo diet, you mean the diet of paleolithic man, yes it will work. Any diet that has you walking 12-14 miles per day hunting for food and shelter while eating the little amount of available food will work.
-
I fail to see anything wrong with your diet. I'm pretty sure your doctor would agree, which you could tell the coworker.

If it's working for you, don't "fix" it. At the upper end up that run, you might want to bring some gel or something, as you're approaching the "magic hour" mark.

You are an inspiration to me! Thank you for this post!

Since it's a group plan, it shouldn't negatively affect your rate. As far as a fear of the unknown: Would you be terrified to look at your account balance, in case it's low? Or would you need to know the balance, so you can figure out your budget? Same principle.

Only on day 4? Don't sweat it too much. You're going to suck at calorie counting at first. We all do. Check this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/loseit/comments/3didtl/how_to_get_started_using_myfitnesspal/

If your OB doesn't have an issue with edema, and morbid obesity, while pregnant, I think the problem is your OB, not your mom. Your mom is concerned about your health.

It's not cocky, but definitely projects confidence.

What she said. DOMS usually stops happening after a couple bouts (See: repeated bout effect).

I do enjoy these discussions where one person is arguing how many angels can dance on the head of a pin... People make eating food so damned complicated. For 99% of the people on this forum, simply watching their caloric intake, hitting their macros 75%, and taking a daily multi will be sufficient. I'm quite the runner,…

I think any overly restrictive dietary program be either a trigger for an eating disorder, or be used to mask one. I also think a completely rule-free dietary program can either be a trigger for an eating disorder, or be used to mask one.

Slow down. Seriously. Slow down. Build mileage, speed will come, all on it's own at the start. For the C25K, you should be able to complete each week. If you can't, repeat it.

Have you readjusted your caloric goals, to ensure you're actually in a deficit? Your TDEE lowers, as you lose weight, just due to not having to carry about so much mass. Are you using a food scale? If not, you could be overestimating portions. 100 cals/day adds up.

Older Hydroxycut worked, because it had the complete ECA stack: Ephedra, Caffeine, and Aspirin; which in clinical trials reduced hunger, did raise BMR slightly, and gave the individual better athletic performance. Unfortunately, ephedra is now banned, because a couple of morons decided to take 4x the recommended dose, and…

If you can run 12km, then 10,000 steps should be easy enough. I usually hit my 10K steps after my lunch run, which is typically ~3.2 miles (Just over a 5K run). It's not all that insane of a goal, as it works out to about 1 hour of walking, of 30 minutes of jogging.

Yes, because most people overestimate their caloric burn from exercising.

I get that way too. So, I work out in the evenings. Problem solved.

Because if they train you into being a repeat customer, they earn more money.

135 lbs down? You're healthier. You might not want to admit it, or you might not realize it, but you are, in fact, healthier. That is less work being placed on your heart, and circulatory system.. Your risk for type II diabetes has decreased. These are just the starter items.
