  • With brussel sprout syrup!
  • Meh, she's 22, probably a little clueless about how her statements sound coming out of her mouth, but I doubt she means any harm. Try to take the positive, and don't read any more into it than that. A lot of women ( I say women because it's a trait more commonly socialized into women) are super sensitive as to how their…
  • You don't need rest days with what you're currently doing. Keep at it. Keep building it up. Keep up the enthusiasm :)
  • My boyfriend just rolls his eyes. If he asks, I say I'm facebooking because is more socially acceptable. Lol. This **** is addictive for anyone with a healthy or unhealthy obsession with food and or exercise. I had a psychiatrist tell me a long time ago..." yeah... you're neurotic... so you're neurotic... you're always…
  • Pilates or sitting upper body strength training. That's all I can think of. Last time I sprained my ankle, I tried swimming only to realize that you actually use you ankles to kick. Painful realization. Once it starts to heal, you may be able to use a bike or elliptical, just feel it out.
  • You could wear a pedometer to try to calculate a burn. What I used to do when I was a waitress is stick a larabar in my apron. You can cram one of those in your mouth in three bites (that's why I picked the larabars, they are really small by high cal) if your blood sugar plummets mid shift. I mean, you can even do it on…
  • I go to 711 and get a piece of fruit and some nuts. Maybe Jerkey. I don't like eating food that doesn't taste awesome to me, so I'll just snack out a meal if I don't like my options.
  • You have a decent variety. You are consistently low in protein. I'd add some chicken or fish. It seems like you like sweet things, so a protein powder might be more up your alley. And of course... you could always eat more veggies.
  • I'm stoked on your motivation. I've never scheduled "cheat meals," but that's mainly because I have an all or nothing mentality. Whatever works for you is great. Your desire to make another positive change for yourself is awesome (whether or not anyone agrees or disagrees with it).
  • Have you thought of doing something more structured and supervised for your diet? Like weight watchers or a diet plan that's pre-portioned? If that works, at least you can rule out some kind of medical issue or abnormality.
  • I have a distinct increase in appetite the week before my period. That's actually how I know my period is coming. I'm like... damn... I'm starving... oh... IT'S coming. If I can't stand the hunger, I'll eat at maintenance. I don't use it as an excuse, but sometimes I just let my body do its crazy thing.
  • Just went to get ice and found Gatorade bottles frozen with ice in the freezer. Gunna roll my legs out with ice. Nicccceeee!
  • Water will just make you feel more full. Just try to distract yourself with something else and let the discomfort pass. Walking might help a little.
  • I had never been between these 2 beaches on foot, and it's hard to tell distance on the beach. It always seems further than it is. I thought my internal distance reader was just off when it seemed long. I'll just say it. I'm kinda ditzy sometimes, okay?
  • I was on sand, so that probably saved my knees and hips. Gorgeous beach day in San Diego, may have also contributed to accident.
  • Wow. Thanks for the detailed instructions. I'm going to try this.
  • I was doing an out and back run, and I just guessed the distance between the two points. I was wrong... very wrong... Back is fine though... I've been out backpacking with a heavy pack a lot lately. Also the reason I thought my legs were strong enough for this.
  • On a regular day, my workout burns somewhere around 600-1,000. Once a week, I might do a longer workout or two workouts in a day. Like on the weekend if I do 6 hours of backpacking or I do a long run and a boxing class. On days where I'm burning 3,000 calories, I honestly don't worry about how much I am eating back or what…
  • I'm the opposite. I used to eat very little protein. Maybe one 2 oz. serving per day (a half serving). Now I eat 1-2 servings per meal. I eat a lot more fat now too. I was really heavy on carbs (runner and former vegetarian), but it made my blood sugar a roller coaster. Feel much better and more satiated with more fat and…
  • I don't think you need to drop your cardio. You aren't doing a ton of it. Can you add 15 minutes of calisthenics to your 45 minute cardio sessions? That'll get you 45 minutes more strength each week, and you're already working out anyways...
  • My only point was that someone made an inaccurate statement about the relationship of the bill of rights to constitutional law as a whole. I wasn't trying to prove any points to anyone. I wasn't even talking about the original topic. I was not referring to a made up case, but an entire string of supreme court cases…
  • Get used to sticking to simple foods and / or preparing everything you eat from scratch. Navigating ingredients on packaged foods is pretty much a nightmare. Unless you want to read every ingredient on every label in the supermarket, and still maybe only find one thing you can eat, it's much easier to just buy whole foods:…
  • For the third time. My point wasn't that the constitution allows this person to work out in this gym. It was simply that the person making comments about the constitution was making incorrect comments.
  • I know. That's why I said it was BESIDES THE POINT. ****ing read before you comment. Thanks.
  • It's probably your weight. It's super impressive that you're out there running. WTG. But maybe try cycling or swimming for awhile.
  • Any business can't refuse you service for any reason. Again: think civil rights, lunch counter strikes, "no blacks" signs. Ehhhh... this is so besides the point of this post. Never mind.
  • I didn't say the commerce clause would ACTUALLY apply in this circumstance. It was just that somebody got all uppity about the constitution who obviously hasn't read it beyond the bill of rights. Note also, there are constitutional protections beyond the bill of rights... hello 14th Amendment. None of which apply to this…
  • Actually access to private businesses comes under the commerce clause of the constitution. Hence, black people can't be kicked out of restaurants anymore.
  • I honestly feel a little uncomfortable with people who have obvious eating disorders going crazy on the elliptical, and I wonder why the gyms allow it. So I'm pretty sympathetic to the gym owner that said no way. However, I think this would be a different conversation altogether if we were talking about an obese person who…
  • I've wanted to try calorie cycling. However, I think it's easier for me to just stick to the same goal every day. I think I'll be tempted go over and call it my high day... a bit more often than is called for.
