  • I'm 45. Sending you a friend request. My diary is also open. I think thats one of my favorite things. Checking other people's diarys for good snacks, low cal things that I didnt think of.
  • I start Week 3, day 1 today. I really don't have an exact schedule other than getting my runs in 3 to 4 times a week when I can. It really all depends on my schedule and when I can fit them in. Favorite runs are Sunday's because its a morning run outside. I try to make the majority of them outside but every now and then…
  • Way to go. Sign up for your next one right away so you have that goal.
  • Awesome motivation. Thank you so much. I am so happy for you. I didnt do the run last night I actually was just too darn tired but I did get it done at 5 am this morning and I am so thrilled. Almost to the end of the first week.
  • Nope never heard it either. Yikes.
  • I grew up in Ireland but we didnt speak Gaelic. I learned it in school to 6th Grade. I have very little now, words and phrases here and there. Cad is anim duit. Siobhan is anim dom.
  • How did your calorie goal come out to 1000? I thought it didnt go below 1200 for anyone, perhaps I am mistaken.
  • Wine is huge for me. The problem isnt even the wine itself but that when I drink 2-3 glasses of it it lowers my willpower. I'll have the wine, open the fridge and anything in there is fair game. Doesnt even have to be anything really good, I'll fill up on fried egg sandwiches with ketchup. I dont drink much but I do like…
  • I saw a woman one day (in great shape) and she was in the locker room. Lying on the floor, doing sit ups, butt naked. I just though OMG what confidence but it still makes me laugh.
  • Non fat, plain greek yogurt with a ton of blueberries or rasberries. Soooo filling and tastes like a dessert.
  • I finished Week 2, Day 1 last night and I feel so good. In the past I always ran on the treadmill inside and I'm a morning person so the mornings are easier for me. This past Sunday I ran outside (early morning) and it was just beautiful. Just the quiet and the beautiful morning did something for me mentally that I can't…
  • Hi Julia: You know you can do this. Dont start Monday or next week. Start at your very next meal. Start now this second. Please feel free to add me to your friend list. I plan to log in EVERY day so I will be here to nag you. Shiv
  • Congratulations to you on doing your first day. I finished Week 2, day one last night and every time out I love it more than the last time.
  • I'm starting Week 2, Day 1 tonight (hoping that I wont be too tired to do it tonight). I would really prefer to run outside on the road tonight but if I have to leave it until tomorrow morning I will be stuck on the treadmill which I dont like as much.
  • One of the BEST low calorie and very filling snacks that I have been eating recently is Low Fat Greek Yogurt - Plain and just add blueberries, rasberries or blackberries. So filling and it tastes like dessert.
  • I had a wrap with Chicken, lettuce, scallions, tomato and mustard.
  • WOW. You go! Thats awesome.
  • Penne a La Vodka with tons of parmesan on top and a nice bottle (all of it) of Pinot Grigio
  • I LOVE low fat greek yogurt with eithe blueberries or rasberries in it. I just started eating it and to me its like a really filling dessert. Steamed brocolli and cauliflour with a little spray of "I cant believe its not butter spray" and sometimes a sprinkle of parmesan Asparagus - a little bunch of them, maybe 5-6, add a…
  • I didnt get any stretch marks. I had one pregnancy so maybe that had something to do with it. My sister has none and she had 4. My other sister has tons. Funny story. One day her 5 year old asks her "Mom, what are all those marks on your tummy" and she goes "Those are growing marks from when you were in my tummy" He goes…
  • Hi Jan: Please feel free to friend me so that we can support each other. I am 45 and mom to one 7 year old boy. I'm working on losing about 25lbs one day at a time. I just joined MFP this past Tuesday and I really feel determined this time to do this. Editing to add that you absolutely CAN do this.
  • Hi All: I'm 45 (46 in October) 5'4" and 144lbs Goal 120 Christmas Goal is a los of 15lbs (might be a little over optimistic but we will see). I've logged onto MFP so many times before but this is the first week that I am really sticking with it. My goal is to log my food EVERY single day no matter what and to get involved…
  • Too funny. I am grossed out at myself for laughing at potty humor but I couldnt help it.
  • There really are so many different factors. I was quiet a bit underweight and and never had to diet (also ate crap and drank crap) until I was 34 or 35. Then little by little things changed and the weight started to creep on. Probably a little bit of everything. Not as much time to work out, hormones, age etc. I just…
  • What tastes sooooo good and is really filling as a healthy snack is some low fat greek yogurt with blueberries on top. It just like a dessert really.
  • The evening is also when I struggle or fail. I can plan out my breakfast and lunch because I have more time at work (crazy as it seems) but once I get home. I'm making dinner, laundry load, homework, ds is begging for a bike ride etc. I often just grab the nearest thing and shove it in my mouth. So many reasons. I'm hungry…
  • I completed Week 1, Day 2 this morning. Getting out of bed to do it was just sooooo hard this morning. I really thought about not doing it. When I say I forced myself to put on my workout clothes and start walking its an understatement. THEN 2 minutes into the walk part I was just thrilled with myself. I went on to enjoy…
  • A day at the Spa followed by a night out with the hubby in my new outfit.
  • I only started yesterday. When I put in my stats, weight and goal weight into the main page I wrote that I would like to lose 2lbs per week. It came back to tell me that I would lose 0.8 per week which was a bit discouraging. I would be hoping that at least the first week I would lose more than that.
  • I just started back with MFP yesterday so I am new too. I think to start just the actual act of logging my food will help. Seeing exactly what I am eating and trying to stay within the calorie limit. Then after that tweaking it as I go along and hopefully seeing what works for me. Today I am making an effort to try to make…
