I did Week 7, Day 1 last Thursday evening and then ran my first 5K on Sunday morning in 32.24. My goal was really to run it all without walking which I did so I was very very happy. Tonight I am back to Week 7, Day 2. Looking forward to my next 5K being a little more comfortable for me as the one on Sunday was a struggle.

And you are my new favorite person, LOL. I LOVE this game. To MBpostiv

Add a walking week and even add another walking week or a repeat of week 1 if you need to. Just comitt to doing it three times a week for 30 minutes and you will get there. Good luck:)

I ran my first 5k this morning even though I haven't completed the c25k yet. I did week 7, day 2 on Thursday so my goal this morning was to run it all without walking. I did it in 32.24 and I am so thrilled. It was tough going for sure and pretty uncomfortable right in the middle but I was actually able to sprint to the…

I have signed up for my first one on October 6th. I just stated week 5 this morning so I am guessing I will be somewhere in the middle of week 7 by then. My motivation is my friend who is running with me. She started running about a year ago and is well able to run 6, 7 miles without stopping now. Her goal for this 5K is…

I finished Week 5, Day 1 this morning at 5:30 am. Unfortunatly it was the first run that I had to do inside on the treadmill. I knew I had to get my run in this morning as I have a crazy day into late tonight and the same day tomorrow. My husband had already left for work and my son was sleeping so there was no other…

Hi Michael: It looks like you have taken the first step. I think the first thing I would urge you to do would be to see your doctor to find out what you can safely do in the way of walking. Goals that you can set and meet while you are waiting for your doctor appt are: Post here EVERY single day and get involved in the…

Age really is just a number. My father will be 84 in November and I don't consider him old. It's hard to think of him as old when he is as active as he is. Out to lunch or a nice outing with my mother every day. Weekends away. Fishing, walking, swimming etc. They also go out on Saturday nights to a great bar with music and…

I completed Week 4, Day 1 last night and I struggled with it. I think I struggled more with the heat and the humidity than breathing or tired legs and I also think that I went too fast in the begginning so I will probably slow it down a little on my run tomorrow. I came really close to wanting to slow to a walk in the last…

So I worked it out and TDEE - 20% is 1219 calories. So the MFP calculator seems to be pretty accurate for me. This is without adding exercise.

Week 4, day 1 of C25K. Waiting until later and hoping it will cool down a little. Its been really hot and humid.
-
Awesome, thank you.
-
Wonderful, thank you all for explaining. I've been trying to figure it out.
-
OMG can someone tell me what TDEE means. I've looked everywhere and I cannot find it. Also BME??

Dont be afraid to run much slower than you think you should be running to start. Its important to stretch and its important to take your rest days.

I love the Chobani or the Stop and Shop brand, whichever is on sale. I throw in some blueberries or rasberries and its like the best dessert ever. Yum.

This makes a lot of sense, thanks. I think thats why I am liking MFP a lot more than I did WW. I really felt hungry on WW and I didnt eat my exercise points on that. I am finding myself much more satisfied on MFP. I am also finding the message boards and friend are so much more of a support. Right now I am not exercising a…

Thank you.

I just joined a few weeks ago and per the MFP instruction I am on 1200 calories. I try to be right under it most days. I am 45 and 5 foot 4. I'm curious as to why others who are shorter than me have more calories. Am I doing something wrong whe I calculated how much I wanted to lose. I have about 15lbs to go to goal.

I just finished Week 3, Day 3. My Run double app says that my pace was 11.29 minu/mile but then it says my overall pace was 12.37 min/mile and I guess thats when they average in the walks as well.

I love it steamed and just throw a little parmesan cheese on it. I often make it with Brocolli and then I dont need a carb.

I had just arrived into work in Midtown Manhattan right after the first plane hit. We chatted about it while having our coffee and all thought it was a commuter plane. We soon realized what was going on and it got pretty awful. We were all on the phone trying to reach family of a co-worker who was very upset. My boss was…

I will be starting week 4 tongight but I just wanted to wish you luck. Like you I have done it in the past and even graduated and then stopped running and ended up back at square one. I am determined this time to keep going and even try to run a 10k down the road. Good luck:)

Finished Week 3, day 3 last night and it felt so good. Struggled a little on the second 3 minute run but when the Run Double app said its time to do a cool down walk I was just so thrilled with myself. On to week 4. I almost want to start it tonight but I will wait until tomorrow evening.

I just finished Week 3, Day 3. I found that I struggled just a little towards the end of the second 3 minute run but I was able to push through and get it done. Getting a little nervous about week 4 but also looking forward to it. It really is a great program.
-
Thanks, you are probably right. Even though my mind wants to do it again tonight because it was fun my body probably does need the rest. My calves felt tight after running last night so I did stretch well. I cannot run tomorrow, husband at work all day into late evening but yes I think I will wait until Sunday:)

Wowza. You look amazing. It just goes to show that if you really want it you can have it with hard work. You should be soo proud of yourself. Inspiring.

I finished Week 3, Day 2 last night. I've really started to LOVE this program. I used to run years ago and always on the treadmill. I am finding that I love running outside so much that I will never run inside again. For some reason my run last night seemed much easier than my Week 3, Day 1 run even though it was really…
