cauliflower virgin

Like the title says, I've never eaten cauliflower. But my curiosity is getting the best of me.

Where should I begin? Steam it? Mash it? Make a pizza? If you were trying to sell cauliflower to someone, how would you recommend it be prepared?

Thanks!

Smother it in nutella. It's just like bacon.

  • I think raw it tastes kinds funky and smells like feet but totally tolerable. I love using it as pizza crust. Super easy and once you doctor it up it's pretty tastey.

roasted - cut it up into medium size chunks.

    preheat oven to 425.

Toss with olive oil, s & p or any other flavor season combo you like. I have even used McCormick marinade packets before.

bake for about 15 minutes or until it's a tender as you like.

i now use it instead of rice with things like chilli and tikka , i only use the flower bit not the stalk steam it then chop it a little put on ya plate and put the tikka on top yummmm , the stalks i steam then mash with other veg to make veggi burgers so nothing wasted
  • Try cauliflower amd mashed potatoes mashed together. This tasts very good but also lowers the carbs and calories of just mashed potatoes.

I love it steamed and just throw a little parmesan cheese on it. I often make it with Brocolli and then I dont need a carb.

Steamed until just tender. Served with some fresh ground black pepper.

I don't do mock food, but I do like my cauliflower boiled and salted.
Sometimes I squeeze fresh lemons on it.

I steam it and drizzle it with cider vinegar. Or roast it with bacon crumbles and garlic

Raw dipped in ranch. Or steamed (but not mushy!) with salt and a little butter spray.

I don't like mashed cauliflower as a total sub for mashed potatoes, but I do like a 50/50 blend.
