1 oz wt = 28 g 1 fl oz of water = 28 g of water So if you know the density of your food, you can convert, however this is why it is generally recommended to weigh solids and measure liquids. Edited for clarity

^^This. I weigh every day and keep a 7-day running average. Helps to average out the water fluctuations.

I reward myself with a new goal. Not necessarily weight related, but fitness related. Now I'm working toward a lower bf% and when I hit that I'll probably choose a strength goal. It's good to keep me motivated to remain fit after losing.

_Hearts, you changed your profile pic between the last time I looked at this thread and now! Good choice with the owl... It's a nice list of threads you've compiled; those are ones that helped me in the beginning as well. Thank you for posting it.

^^This I like them when dry-fried, particularly with Thai green or red curry on top. That way I'm not expecting pasta.

TL;DR. But how do you know you've list 3 lbs when you "refuse to step on a scale."

Doesn't matter. It only matters how he feels about it. Do you think he needs to work on his body image?

Gag at the thought of milk, cream, whatever -- even rice, soy, almond milk, but love ice cream (and whipped cream).

Everything people said above + get some bike shorts. You will be very sore after 25-30 miles without them.

Mmmmm. Avocado. Much more satisfying than the pastry bars you mention.

Just wanted to share a couple of small victories. I've been struggling with my OHP and finally got through 5x5 @ 50 lbs today! Doesn't sound like much but I'd been stuck there for about a month. Since I'm cutting I thought I might have to give up on seeing any improvement, but thanks to some suggestions I saw here and also…

Sounds miserable and totally unnecessary.

My diary is open. I log daily. Sometimes do IF, sometimes not. Feel free to add me.

If it is SI pain there is a stretch (recommended by a Physical Medicine and Rehabiliration specialist) that helped me get back to exercising the way I wanted to: Lie on your back on a hard surface with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Then tilt your legs, lowering them to one side and then the other while keeping…

No. Calories can only be burned between 5 and 7 am. This whole CICO idea is totally wrong. You can eat whatever you want as long as you work out in the morning.
-
What do you mean? Rum and Diet Coke *are* food groups!
-
Lol. Got me!
-
Yes. Totally agree. Not 20 minutes, definitely!
-
Generally, I agree, however the length of time before the switch from glycogen to fat metabolism will depend on your glycogen stores. If you've been eating at a steep deficit you may find yourself bonking (switching to fat metabolism) sooner. Distance runners carbo-load before a long race to put off the transition as long…

Morning for me 5:30 or 6am during the week, sometime between 7 and 9 on weekends. If I work out in the evening I have a hard time getting to sleep and don't sleep well.

There's an IPhone app, too, if that's the way you roll. I do various cardio activities on my non-lifitng days, running, biking, kickboxing...

Bump, as I keep referring back to this video. Thanks for posting!

I'm 5'7", 125 lbs. My wedding dress 16 years ago was a size 12. I'm now approximately the same size and wear a 0 or 2. I feel like I'm wasting away...
