  • Thanks for letting me know - I think it should work now.
  • I had the same thing happen. 10 lbs. from May 19-June 12. Then not another pound until July 12. Since then, I've lost another 4. Try taking a day or two off of the diet. Your body is probably hoarding because you aren't eating enough. (I'm assuming your net calories are coming in under 1000 once you calculate exercise…
  • Yes. It adds automatically, but mine sometimes doesn't sync for hours.
  • I lost for about three weeks, then went on a 4.5 week plateau. You just have to keep your head in the game. I'm losing quickly again, but it sure was a frustrating June. Consistency is your friend, the scale/your measurements are a lagging indicator.
  • Wonderful.
  • 3.1 miles yesterday; around 2.7 today (both days walking pushing stoller).
  • Finally lost after about 4 weeks of plateau! Not much, but finally!
  • Walked 1.2 miles yesterday; 2.71 today.
  • Got home from work and went to a social event, then came home, bathed baby, read to him, got him to bed. Then jumped on the stationary bike for an 11 mile ride. First time on the bike in a while. 15 minutes later, I'm still dripping. (Please forgive me for checking in again... I am doing it to keep me accountable.)
  • Got a couple miles in with the stroller and dog. Well, I looped by the house and dropped the dog off after a mile and then did another mile with baby and me. With about 1/2 mile to go on our way back to the house, we passed a place giving away hanging flowers. Needless to say, the stroller was adorned with hanging flowers…
  • I would like to do this. Please add me. Thanks!
  • I entered it as aerobics, I know others enter it as circuit training. I didn't finish as the jumping was causing me all kind of knee problems. But, yesterday I got a new pair of shoes and we'll see if that changes things!
  • Thanks for the update.
  • I'm eating more than that now because I'm much more active these days; however, I will say that in my experience, metabolism can dramatically change dependent upon a situation. When I was in my teens I ate like a horse and was a string bean. In my early 20s I was active, then became more sedentary. However, because of some…
  • I am assuming you are full, but I'd love to be a part of this. Mentioning this just in case you have dropouts...
  • I'd like to point out that I am a size 10/12 (probably much smaller in oversized brands like Gap) and weigh about 18 or so pounds more than you. It is all in how/where we hold our weight. When I get to 145, I expect to be in a size 6/8.
  • I am almost 42 and have shrunk a little so I'm around 5'5" now. My goal is 145. As an adult I've weighed between 105 (severe anxiety and depression - not a good look) to 180 following a pregnancy (also not a good look). In an evil twist of hormone fluctuations, I actually weighed about 170 when I delivered last June, and…
  • The at-home spa day sounds nice. You might also do a beach-or park-or zoo-or museum day, all for fairly low cost. Depending upon your fitness level, you might find it rewarding to actually enter a 5K as a reward? (Or, maybe that would be punishment?) Maybe buy yourself a nice journal.
  • In general no; however, it might be appropriate for a fitness related career - particularly if the weight gain was due to an injury or something similar. It might also be appropriate in a cover letter when introducing your tenacity to meet goals - again dependent upon what the position you are applying for is. Although you…
  • I think that nuts and stuff like that are good mix of protein and carbs, but want to mention a couple other ideas. I used to work at a Greek restaurant and would order a plate of Horta (boiled endives) that would give me a boost. Not sure if it was the iron or what, but it worked well. (I was borderline anemic at this…
  • It almost always overestimates what I think I burn by about double. However, the exercise bike I use at home seems to underestimate because it doesn't take into account age or weight on the standard setting, but it has a heart rate monitor which is good. I use my sustained heart rate to figure my calories when riding the…
  • I understand to a limited extent although I don't mind exercising. But, sometimes it feels purposeless. When I was younger, I would walk a couple miles to and from work even though I had a car. It didn't really feel like exercise because there was a purpose behind the walk, but guess what? It was a good way to get in more…
  • :) I'm fairly new to this motherhood thing (my son turned 1 today). He is my motivation - as he becomes more active, I want to be able to play with him like a younger parent would. I am 41 and quickly approaching 42. It is easy right now, because I can "corral" him while I ride the exercise bike or can push him in the…
  • To clarify, I've lost 4 lbs since committing to this goal.
  • I buy bags or bulk containers of nut, chocolate, raisin, craisin type snacks and seperate them into little containers of 130 calories (1 oz. serving size). I pretty much fit one of these (or two) into my daily meal allotment. They have protein and fat (but the good kind).
  • You've done a great job and your food and exercise diary looks great. I'm doing a similar diet in terms of calories (although no meat), but still need to up my exercise, but your slow and steady progress is truly inspiring.
  • Congrats on overcoming all the emotional challenges of loss to get where you now are.
  • As a vegetarian, I also include a lot of fruit into my diet. I am not diabetic so sugar is less important to me than overall calories. Since I'm a little older, and don't eat a lot of dairy, I think it is more important to keep an eye on my calcium intake. I changed the sugar to calcium using settings. Oh and bananas are…
  • Seems to me you had an energetic dancer in there all along. Congratulations on improving your health.
  • I don't know what to say about the cramping except that maybe you need to make sure that your sodium isn't too low. Probably also consider some sort of electrolyte drink - bananas are a good thing. Web MD has a "rehydration drink" recipe. I put it into MFP as a recipe to see what it calculates at: 90 calories, 24 carbs,…
