Hey Team, I'm Shawn from Toronto Canada. (return tripper June and July) My weight loss journey can be classically called Chariots of Fire - slow, steady and classic. I travel heavy for sales during the summer months and need to track daily to ensure the best decisions. My goal this month is to increase my movement and get…

PW: 386.4 CW: 387 Some good wins 1) Lower heart rate on my hill climbs (bike) 2) Difficult week for snacking/ stress - but tracked all of it ;-) 3) Rested when I needed it (permission) Congrats on the all the losses this week. Shawn

@lauren_989 - I went the second hand route - mine is a TREK mountain bike - I call him BEASTLY - he is heavy, sturdy and has the old rubber style brakes. The newer technology is amazing - disk brakes and lighter materials. I would consider a E-bike in the future.

Hey @micki48 - "food for thought" - One song on my frequent playlist for perspective is Wiser Time by The Black Crowes - it puts everything into perspective for me - (chorus) - On a good day, it's not every day We can part the sea And on a bad day, it's not every day Glory beyond our reach Seconds until sunrise Tired but…

Doesn't seem to work - how about I give you a txt or email OR find me linkedIn (more steps ;-))

Celebrating 2 little wins 1) My wife and daughter convinced me to get them a peanut buster parfait from Dairy Queen (only 1700 ish calories) - I opted for the buster bar @ 405 calories and promptly put in the freezer for a rainy day 2) Filled my plate with left overs and put 1/3 back before eating

@Gidgitgoescrzy - I feel you on having blah days and weeks - perhaps seek a easy win like a walk around the block, write 3 things that you are greatful for, treat yourself to a healthy meal, book a Spa day or take a day or two off. We have so much noise and distraction in our lives that compete against our goals. Hall pass…

@cleaneater80 - I remember those fast run days - nothing hurts, you are in the zone - take the win.

Congrats on the loss!

Hi Kay - @Kali225 - Making smart food choices after a long and intense day at work is difficult - as a heavy travel guy it is the hardest thing when on the road. My thing is portion control - if I can get the chicken burger minus the fries I am off to a good start - My wife likes aqua classes and I try to get to the pool…
-
Hey @wishfuljune - congrats on a great week of movement and loss - welcome to the group - they are a supportive and fun bunch. What is the easiest part of movement / and healthy choice for you?

Great work @lauren_989 - I think the inner conversation I know I did a little extra is OK as long as it part of the larger picture.

Happy July 4th to our American Friends! Travel day in Canada and sharing 2 hacks Lunch on the road - McDonald's Chicken Breast and skip the fries w/ Ice Coffee Listening to Half size me podcast (free) for fuel for my mind & soul. (so many stories I can relate to) Today's talk was about the little nagging voice that makes…

Good insight @lauren_989 ! I love the belt loop idea. I find reading is a big help when dealing with stress and / or journaling. The secret to increasing your speed ( running) is hill work and sprints ( to increase your anaerobic threshold) some races provide pace bunnies to help crush your goals. A sub 30 min 5 km is a…

And we are off - light garden workout (35 min) Adding in some more movement this week - with a goal of 3-5 days. Food intake is honest and accurate as I seek to operate under 500 calories. Posted two visuals on my wall (I work from home) 1) long term goals 2) Visual graph to track progress (weight loss) 3) Need to think…
