@Kali225 - I love Wingspan! The artwork is so beautiful. I ordered that game designer’s new game, Undergrove, that will be about mushrooms. Fingers crossed it’s just as good!
This weekend was indulgent (within reason), but in the best possible way to celebrate my birthday. Karaoke was so much fun, and then the dinner at the seafood restaurant was some of the best I’ve had. Then on Saturday, a huge group of my friends joined me at an arcade, where we played so many different games and then finished with an early dinner. I am so thankful for my husband, and for all my friends, who joined me to celebrate. Plus, I got my steps in on Saturday by running around an arcade like a teenager again. 😂
Then yesterday, I kicked off summer with my first lobster roll of the season. It was worth the 35+ minute wait time for it. We ended the weekend by watching House of the Dragon and now I’ve got three days of work this week before a couple days off to celebrate my husband’s birthday.3 -
Happy Monday, I had a good weekend, and I feel like food was in control also. It was super hot all weekend.
Saturday I had a facial, then we spent the rest of the day at the pool. I got lots of walking and swimming in.
Sunday was grocery shopping, then we went to my brother in laws for a little bit, then we went home and set up the doggies pool for them, and they got ice cream. Little did they know they got all those good things, so they would be nice and tired when we did their nails, the little one does not like that at all, the big one tolerates it, but he also learned that when he knocks over the treat jar a bunch fall out, so he kept doing that as we were trying to do Dixies nails.
I did squats both days, 40 per day at this point, it's not bad, I'm not having any trouble completing them, so I am excited to add weights in July.
Have a great day !6 -
@Kali225 glad you had a good weekend, but sorry the weather didn't cooperate! I haven't played wingspan but have seen it in the store. I will have to check it out.
@wishfuljune happy belated birthday!! I LOVE lobster rolls and had one at Chelos on the waterfront. We ate there with my siblings and parents before my dad's surgery on Thursday. That was my first time eating there and it was good!
Sorry for the late reminders this morning, but Monday folks:

Good evening Waistaways 😁
Last week, when I said I'm not going back to 40's - I lied 😢
CW 240.6 lbs
I put on a 1lb. To be honest it could have been worse 😕
It is TOTM but also my husband and I spent last weekend moving our uni son back home for the summer 😊 There were also stops for food at famous fast food places, so I'm quite relieved at my weigh in.
I'm really happy my baby is home 🎉
Happy and healthy new week everyone 🌹7 -
Previous Weight: 172.6 lbs
Current Weight: 172.6 lbs
Well, I was on maintenance calories last week, and I guess my body got the memo! My lunch this week is a little lighter (kind of a snack box given a weird meetings week), so I'll keep an eye out to make sure I'm feeling satiated overall.7 -
@strong_fit_ells Summer with your son! How lovely. Enjoy every minute!
@Kali225 Love a good board game recommendation - thanks for the tip. Brad and I are stuck on Monopoly Deal right now - it's so easy to play at the lake and we play rounds and rounds of it.
I felt really off today. We commuted from the trailer in so I got into work about an hour later than usual. But my anxiety has just been really off the charts. We are stopping at our friend's house after work today to help make some changes to their bed as his illness is making it hard for him to get in and out of a tall bed. Then, game 7, and hopefully an early night to bed.
I haven't rode my bike in FOREVER and I have an event in less than 3 weeks. All of us participating have dropped down - I was supposed to do the 150 KM this year (30 KM more than last year) but instead I'm doing the 45 KM. Even that will be hard but we're meeting friends there so I didn't want to drop altogether.5 -
@wishfuljune happy belated birthday!! Undergrove! So glad I mentioned Wingspan, I have to try Undergrove too. I happen to think mushrooms are cuter than birds, actually.
@ashleycarole86 I love board games so much. My biggest dating motivation now is to just have someone around to play board games with!!
Unfortunately I binged tonight, instead of a real dinner. Didn't feel good, of course. I considered going to bed before 9pm! But I rallied somehow, with some Coldplay blasting on my phone, and did a lower body strength workout that kicked my butt. I will be hobbling around tomorrow but that's okay. better than letting the day be a wash.
off to bed for real now.5 -
@leni1us welcome back! Feel free to re-introduce yourself and skim through this month's discussion posts!
@strong_fit_ells enjoy the time with your son!
@Lyss983 you nailed maintenance this week, way to go!
@ashleycarole86 45km is better than zero! That's still a win in my book!
I love the talk about board games, as my husband and I love them too! Our first date was at a board game cafe and we played tsuro. He likes to play games that I had never heard of like arkham horror and betrayal at house on the hill. I'm also an old soul at heart and love cribbage and backgammon 😊
@ineego here's your Tuesday weigh-in reminder!3 -

Ugh. This is actually lower than it has been over the last week. I had a weird and sudden jump of 6 lbs that is slowly coming off. Probably hormones.7 -
I love all this board game talk! I've been hooked on board and card games since I was a kid. Luckily, while my husband wasn't as keen to them as I when we met, I now have him hooked on playing games with my family. Since we met, I've taught him cribbage, pinochle, farkle and many others. If only I could get him to enjoy settlers of catan the way that I do.
The biopsy is officially scheduled for Friday. Interestingly enough, I'm nervous, but mostly I just want it to be over with. I don't do well in limbo. I just want to know if it is something or not.
In some other news, the owners of our company were in town last week. I know I mentioned to all of you a while back (six months or so?) some frustrations I was having with my job. With the owners here, they asked what it would take to make me happy in my job. The biggest thing for me is having enough time off to have some work-life balance. They fully support this, and we are about to pass a new PTO policy that will give me double the PTO. Additionally, we are now in negotiations for a raise. I haven't had a raise in over three years, so this is due.
The last thing I would need to be happy in my job is mutual respect from the president of our company, my counterpart. But, I'm realizing this will likely never happen. To him, I am getting things I haven't earned and don't deserve because I have only been at this company for five years compared to his 25 years. So, at this point, I am still willing to wait it out a bit to see if we can repair this relationship.
I hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Wow what a game yesterday. I had tickets for the watch party in the Edmonton arena and the energy was amazing along with the crowds outside. Sad to see the Oilers lose but it was quite a run.
@MaddawgMadsen so good to hear the owners are listening and asking questions to keep you. I really hope this is progress to some good change with work.
CW 165.2 - weight went down but I'm sceptical about if it's accurate since the battery of the scale was low.
I finished up my final assignment for my course and feel like I can finally start thinking and planning for summer. @ashleycarole86 We will be in Calgary the second weekend of the event. Going to see the chuckwagons one evening.
Summer won't be the best this year. I signed up for another course that is a 3 week intense class in August and going to Saskatoon for school the first week in Sept. I'm really wanting to finish this degree and move on. Love catching up with all of you and plan to be more active this coming month

Celebrating a smart workout by keeping my heart in the work zone and watching the safe zone - ( below 150 bbm) big man on the move!
I am having a Miley Cyrus moment “the climb”….( song lyrics below)
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
Let’s do this

@smcewen99 I love that song. It completely relates to what we are going through. Excellent cycling today!
@MaddawgMadsen I hope the biopsy goes well. That is great news about the PTO! I hope you get to use and enjoy it!
I had my first bit of down time since my dad's surgery. He had 2 decent days in a row, and I felt ok to leave him for a few hours with my mom. My brother and my niece came down from MA, and my sister and 2 nieces came from down the street. We went to the beach and out to dinner and it was lovely. I am exhausted, mentally and physically, but it was great to see them. My nieces spent the entire time in the ocean and it reminded me of when I was their age.

I'm glad I planned this week's workout/rest days in advance! Only clocked in about 2000 steps, but used my standing desk for about four hours of meetings.6

CW.. 158.0...kinda stuck here! Making home made strawberry jam wont help! The heat has definitely been an issue for me.... Zaps me of energy.. I burn saying the word sun. Cooler temps this week, so hoping to get my steps in!4
-
checking in before bed - @MaddawgMadsen way to go getting double the amount of PTO! Definitely deserved and you are being practical about the situation with the president.
@lauren_989 love the pics! gorgeous and you guys look so summery4 -
@MaddawgMadsen - That is great to hear about your PTO and raise negotiations! I hope that the biopsy goes well.
@ashleycarole86 - 45KM still sounds like it will be quite the challenge; good luck with that!
@lauren_989 - Those photos are so beautiful! It looks like you had great weather for the beach, and glad to hear that your dad is doing okay.
I missed my workout on Monday because I had to go into the city for work and I had an early meeting to get to. It was good though to be in the office because I got to interact with more senior leaders that day.
For Tuesday, I did a 30 minute upper body workout that was a good challenge, and then had my dietician appointment. On her scale, I’ve lost about 3lbs since my last meeting with her, which is good. We talked about staying consistent and that losing about 1lb a week is actually quite a lot when in a caloric deficit. I still have some work to do with my weekends, but we agreed I’ve been making the right changes so far.
Today I have meetings from 8:30 to 4pm straight, so I’ll be getting into the office earlier today, but the good news is that it’s technically my Friday with my PTO for the rest of the week. 😊5 -
PW 144.2
CW 142.2
Ya know, I guess the few ups mixed in doesn't matter as long as the total trajectory is going down.
@MaddawgMadsen Congrats on your PTO, best of luck with your biopsy.
@lauren_989 Great pics, I love a good beach, and that one has lots of rocks. Glad to hear your father is doing good.
Up to 45 squats per day and it's not too bad, I really think the adding 5 more every 3 days is working well. I am still working on different stuff for the upper body before I make a decision, it seems my upper body is the weakest part of me, so it's a definite need, but I just got to find something I won't hate and will actually do, while keeping my elbow in mind. I'm not sure what is wrong with it, but it sometimes hurts if I use it wrong. Stupid joints !
Have a wonderful day !

@smcewen99 @Lyss983 My desk at work can be converted to a standing desk but I rarely do it. Thanks for the nudge - it would be good for me to be sitting less.
@lauren_989 Beautiful pics, glad you were able to get a bit of you time - no doubt what you're going through would be tiring. Glad you're surrounded by family.
@MaddawgMadsen So glad to hear your biopsy is scheduled and that your advocacy for yourself paid off at work. Great job.
Last game of spring soccer was last night... we won! We had a beer at the field as two teammates have their birthday today.
My weight is up a ton - it's my TOM and like @adrimango I seem to have had a big surge that I'm working off. All that to say I will weigh in a bit late this week @lauren_989 on Saturday
Brad is off tomorrow for dental work and I am working from home to drive him as he will be getting anesthesia. Our company gives us an extra long weekend off for Canada Day so we head to the lake for Fri-Mon.
Enjoy your Wednesday!8 -
I have been thinking about getting a standing desk at work. For those who have one, do you like it?
@ashleycarole86 congrats on winning your last soccer game! Do you have any more team sports activities coming up?
I hope @bowens1973 dental work goes well tomorrow.
Weigh in reminder for tomorrow!
@bowens1973
@MaddawgMadsen1 -
I didn't get my workout in today because I spent more time than planned at my sitting desk. The silver lining is as of tomorrow at 5:00 PM, I'm on vacation!5

@lauren_989 CW 183.6
Sliding into bed and ready to crash. I’ll write more in the next day or so.
Keep up the good work, y’all!5 -

This last week has been something else. I'm feeling some bloat from my TOM, but I've also been stress eating and not tracking my calories as well. I did start getting back to the gym though. I made one spin class and one CrossFit class. I am scheduled for another CrossFit class tonight and a spin class tomorrow. AND! I figured out where my pickleball stuff is, so I am planning to play on Saturday... assuming I don't hurt much from the biopsy.
@lauren_989 - I have a standing desk and I love it when I remember to use it. I end up cluttering it with paperwork so that I don't have room for my keyboard and mouse. Also, beautiful pictures! I am glad you got to take a break after your dad's surgery to enjoy time at the gorgeous beach with your nieces.
@ashleycarole86 - congrats on the win for your last game! And, I hope the dental work for @bowens1973 goes well. Dental work can be the worst! A long weekend after that sounds well deserved.
@gidgitgoescrzy - way to go with the squats! You are killing it!3 -
@lauren_989 I have a husky adjustable height work table that I use as a computer desk. It has a hand crank instead of a motor to adjust the height, so that's a little mini-workout. Not difficult though. I don't raise it nearly as often as I should, but it's solid and comfortable to use while standing. I should make myself a reminder to raise it for a while every day.3
-
Thank you @Ruth_2024 and @MaddawgMadsen for your input on the standing desk. I think I am going to look into one. I will also see if my work will pay for it
I had a rough day food wise today. It is the last day in RI and I definitely splurged. @wishfuljune I don't know if you ever had a RI Guys donut, but I recommend you don't if you like donuts (they are amazing). I went to a friend's house since my dad seems to be doing ok, and we grilled out and I had a hamburger which was ok, but also had a bunch of chips (not portioned) and an ice cream cone. I am ready to get back to NC and in my normal routine.
@Lyss983 are you going anywhere on your vacation?3
