I'm pretty much in the same boat...professional woman, lost 39lb gained 20lb back (mostly stress related). Now I'm losing again. Took ages to get my mind focussed on calorie counting again but I've been back for 5 weeks now and am on my way back down...10lb to go.

I go through periods where I seem to do it more often...and once you have a sore from biting your gum it's so easy to bite down on it again. I usually use ulcer/canker sore gel. I eat quickly and wonder whether eating while concentrating on other things may not help too.

My own daughter has said this to me and I've never been over a healthy BMI. It's just a kid who sees a wobbly bit of flesh and calls it fat. Nothing to worry about.

I also tend to eat a little less than my goal each day of the week so that at the weekend I have a little extra.
