Exactly!! The 6m run burns more not less!!

I have a garmin HRM. I have also been in a science lab and had specific tests done for athletes by sports scientists. I wore both pieces of equipment for the same test. My HRM told me I had burnt 796 calories in the hour. The sciency equipment measuring energy expenditure told me I had burnt 514. Just saying like..... HRMs…

I do a lot of cycling and running, I'm a semipro athlete. 2k seems a hell of a lot of calories for 26m bike and 6m walk. Garmin HRMs are notorious overestimators. My figures come out at more like 950 calories for 26m bike and 6m run. I'm 5'5 and 61kg

The lowest calorie things are the dry tandoori things that are still yum but don't have the sauce. Things like chicken shashlik. If you like the bread things, then chapatti is the best option, and obviously no pilau/fried rice options. Boiled rice or skip the rice.

I'm a keen runner and running coach. I hope you don't mind me posting. If you can run 10k at 13.09 per mile, you DEFINITELY have enough time if you start training now to build up to running a half marathon in October more than quick enough to make that cut off. I'd expect you to be able to do maybe just under 14 min miles…

My running performance is more important than my weight loss so swapping running/cardio for strength stuff won't work. To run faster, you need the running miles. I do 3-4 hours workout each day during the week, an easier day on Sat- maybe a run or couple hours on the bike, and on a Sunday- either a marathon or a 200k bike…

Running was better and easier a little lighter. I had an op and had time off and put weight on and struggling to shift it.

Under 10.30 is really easy for me. I'm a competitive runner, and that's the reason I want to lose weight. I'm an endurance athlete, why on EARTH would I want to do a mile and a half a day?!?!?! I currently run about 60 miles a week and cycle about 300-350 miles a week.

I'm 5'4-5'5. There is plenty to come off around my tummy and bum. I was under 9 stone for a while about 18 months ago but struggling to get back there!

Yesterday I wasn't very well and I missed my gym sessions. I ate just under 1,600 calories which was 400 over my goal of 1,200 :( Luckily I feel much better today and have been to the gym already and been for a run and will go again later so will be able to eat about 2,400-2,500 today :) Does anyone else feel bad when they…

I love running. I've done 86 marathons, loads of half marathons and 10ks, and some ultra marathons :) Add me :)
-
I'd say definitely still rest it today. Maybe see how it is tomorrow and come back and tell us and perhaps a light jog, but give it another day before making any decisions.

THanks :) Welcome all friends to add me and check out my diary and offer help. I really want this.

Ok, well I'm a bit torn now between eating all my exercise cals back, and not from what people are saying. Differing opinions. I weighed myself this morning, bit less than I thought, and I'm 1lb down on last week so thats good. (9 stone 6.2 now) Now I'm logging everything, I will try and get into the 9.5s next week,…

Love it :) on my phone at mo but will do it tomorrow

So I have some people saying I'm eating too many ex cals back and others saying my net is too low. I'm confused!!!
-
That burn was for a 5 mile run (350 cals) and 2 hours 45 cycling
-
I've eaten 2300 and am 327 under my goal. It just feels like 2300 is too much to lose weight :( I'm 860 net. I guess will see what happens....
-
Me too, I've just joined and looking for some friends :)

I've read it yep. And I'm carrying plenty of extra fat ;) I do have a lot of muscle, but I also have love handles, a big bottom and a belly I don't need!! 10lbs off would make a world of difference.

I am a dedicated, competitive runner. I am not losing weight- that is why I'm here. And I need to train as much as I do to be competitive. I also do strength training on top of the cardio.
-
I only joined today, so there's not much info there yet!!!
-
Thanks :) I've just opened up my food/exercise diary, so open for any comments :)

Are you SURE it didn't say 200?!?!?! Not 2000. I'd say it was much more like 200. I need to take my exercise into account in some way as I do 3-4 hours a day, and that accounts for a lot of calories. It's just a matter how much I need to take it into account.....

Thanks- anyone feel free to add me- I need help!!! I could no WAY eat 1200-1500 a day. I don't know how people do it. For today, MFP has given me my 1200 base, + 1450 for nearly 4 hours of exercise, so thats a total of 2,650. That seems a lot. I struggle to keep under 2000, but say should I try and eat 2300 ish for a…
