Love this

I think family has a big influence in how we LEARN to eat, but not necessarily in a genetic way - as you illustrate!

Aww, chubby babies are cute! My baby is at the age where she has really chubby cheeks:blushing:
-
That's such a fantastic attitude
-
Why? There must have been some reason? Sounds like you have a tough year!
-
It sounds like physical health problems have played a big role in your weight journey?
-
That is SO true. I have never blamed genes etc - I always new it was down to me eating to much - but I used to feel powerless to say 'no' to bad food choices. I feel totally able to do that now!
-
Eew, that makes me feel a bit queasy!
-
Ha, I reckon most people (me included) love yummy food! But not everyone gets overweight - why? My husband seems to have some internal 'I'm full - STOP' switch which I'm lacking, probably from years of eating a few more calories than I need every day. Hopefully loosing and maintaining my goal will help me find that switch!…

I'm leaving for a weeks holiday tomorrow - DETERMINED not to put on the 6lb I just lost!
-
Oh, and congratulations OP - your face looks so different!
-
Mommy3457, we are the same size and shape - have messaged you.

Goodness, what an odd thread. I use this site to count calories. My exercise consists of walking the school run 2 or three times a day, carrying baby and /or toddler up and down the stairs, hefting loads of laundry about, and the odd swim. I'm loosing weight, which is why I'm here, and the fact a few people have been kind…

Oh I see - so for my pie I won't weigh my portion? Just tell mFP I have 1 of 6 servings? That makes sense now!
-
Just watch your calories. I had a 200ml mango smoothie the other day and was a bit shocked when I logged it!
-
You sound a bit like me - I have always eaten pretty healthy food, but it is possible to eat too much even if your diet is fish, chicken and veg.
-
How old is baby? Like I said, if s/he is small and exclusively breastfed, don't ignore the hunger too much - my milk production definatly reduced if I ate too few calories.
-
I'm 5ft1 and 140lb and wear a Next size 10. I think you would be a 12. I find their sizing generous , as in most shops I'm a 12 or even 14.

I find knowing how many calories to eat when breastfeeding really difficult. I have also been feeding for years no - 5 altogether, with a 2 month gap at one point when I was very pregnant. I find as my baby gets older and feeds less, it's easy for me to carry on eating the same - and therefore gain weight. And I am hungry…

I lost around 30lb after the birth of my middle child. Now I am trying to lose the weight I gained during my third pregnancy. I know this is my last baby, so I am really determined to get the weight off! I found it very difficult to lose when I was breastfeeding a small baby, but now she is 11 months it is easier. Are you…

TDEE - what does it stand for? I didn't really get the 'eat back' think - surely excercising won't really help you lkoose weight if you eat extra to compensate? I don't work out, I'm just generally active, so I think it's easier for me not to log excercise.

Thank you all for your answers. I am only interested in healthy weightloss, don't worry! No mad diets or supplements. I don't want a perfect body, I just want to shift a few pounds after 3 babies in 5 years! I'm a relatively healthy eater ( whole grains, try to get plenty of fruit and veg, not too much alcohol or junk). I…

Mine is 1200 which seems stupidly low - I was shocked! I am lighTly active, 5'2, and need to loose about 25lb. I am breast feeding, so I have increased my calories by 300, as advised on other threads/ websites. I have only been here 3 days, and so far I have been about 100 cals over every day :(. I am also very hungry!

You are so right, I did not really realise how calorific juice was until I entered it! I always think of pure juice as healthy (compared to wine or cola) but it's not at all if you are trying to loose weight! I don't like the chemicals in diet drinks, so it will be water now,
-
Well I eat HEALTHY fats, generally - olive oil, nut butters - apart from the dreaded cheese, of course!
-
Will definatly buy some almonds tommorrow!!
-
I love greek yogurt with nuts - favorite snack. I cou;d have it for breakfast. I usually have some honey or maple syrup on it, but I could swap that for fruit I guess - better?
-
Omlette - great suggestion! We have some back-garden chickens, so we're always swamped in eggs. Are eggs high fat though? I eat brown / wholemeal bread, brown rice and wholemeal pasta - do they count as refined carbs? I heard that supermarket brown bread is just white bread with extra bits added back in, rather than proper…

And thank you for all being supportive :0) I am proabably expecting too much of myself right away. Today was a bit atypical as we were at family's house for lunch, so I had less control over what was available to me and when (and what temptations were in the way!). Tomorrow I am at home all day. What is a fast, healthy,…

Thank you all for the suggestions. I might try a mug of hot water and lemon, which I find very soothing! I plan the evening meals for our family in advance, but think about health in general rather than fat content / loosing weight. So we have some meals that are nutritious, but high in fat. We have 3 kids 5 and under, so…
