  • From Newfoundland, but living in New Brunswick. I am a Unit Nursing Aide at our Hemodialysis Unit. "Don't take your organs to Heaven, As Heaven knows we need them here.
  • Thank you everyone for all your advice. I saw somewhere where tea did not count toward your water goal of at least 8/8oz of daily water intake.. So I have been counting water only and not counting any herbal teas or my cinnamon tea which is really only flavored water. So my water intake looks low. Now I can drink my mango…
  • I can't see your diary, but the bad news is weight loss is only about 10% exercise, and 80% diet. So even if you did nothing at all except your normal routine ( and I am not talking about any type of exercise) and ate the amount MFP gives you for your age and build and height you would still lose weight, not as fast as…
  • Good for you... I started out doing 2 mph on the level. Doing 20 mins and having to take my puffer after.. Now I can do 3.2 mphs on an incline of 2 with out a puffer. Today I walked 4 miles but it took 75 minutes. I will probably never be able to walk 5 miles in 12 minutes, but I am working on it...
  • Yes, it is hard, and that is why so many fail with diets.. sometimes spending hundreds of dollars to lose the weight. We all want to wake up tomorrow 50 lbs lighter, but have to face reality that it's going to take a while to do this. MFP is free, and the best thing I have found in a long time, and I think as long as I can…
  • Hi, I got in 4 miles on my treadmill today. Just 96 more to go. But 4 a day X26 days will give me a total of 104. So I will wear my counter to work with me on Monday and I will see how many steps I walk during the day. I understand 10,000 steps equals about 4.7 miles. Happy walking everyone.
  • I am 5 days late, but I would love to join in also.. I will have a little catching up to do, but even if I don't make the hundred, I will have done more than if I did not join this challenge.
  • Great post. Why can we work so hard for others and so little for ourselves? I think I am doing it better this time around, since I found MFP. Last week I had a gain of 2 lbs, because I thought that I could have one day with a treated meal on our 24th of May holiday.. that turned into a week of totally off the program.. But…
  • Hi , I would love to be in also..My weigh days are on Fridays right now, so I weigh tomorrow. I weighed in last Friday at 181. I will have to go back through the this thread and see if it tells me anywhere how I check in..Maybe just save this link and do it that way?
  • Can someone help me out here? I have the DVD. What size weights to use? I have a 5lb and an 8lb. I find the 8lb a little to heavy right now. My other and biggest question is the push ups. I am trying to do level one... but I can not do a push up.. So will this impact greatly on my results? Should I just skip over that part…
  • I bought the DVD last night and tried it this morning. I don't quite understand how it works. I started with the first level, and was not able to do even half of it. I could not do any push ups at all, and before 10 minutes was up my legs were like jelly.. so when you say you got through the DVD are you referring to level…
  • When I was a little girl, I was truly little... and I loved cheese, so my school lunches always had cheese in them. So I got the nickname of Mouse.. and somewhere along the line Bil got added on but I have no idea where that came from. SO I became MouseyBill. When I got my computer 13 years ago, I tried to use that…
  • You will lose weight counting your calories and you will also LOVE it here.. There is always someone here to pick you up on the days when you don't feel you can do it yourself... all you have to do is let us know..
  • I thank you all for the kind words and suggestions. That is what is great about this site, when you are feeling doubtful about going on there is always someone here to boost you up and carry you over that wave of hopelessness. I am now renewed once again and will try it again tomorrow. So what if it take me 6 months to do…
  • I just weighed some shredded wheat. A generous regular bowl weighed 98g. the bowl was full but not over flowing. this was pure shreddies and was not counting the weight of the bowl. Hope that helps.
  • Good Morning, it was an ugly weigh in this morning.. Gained +2 lbs, and got little exercise in. I knew I would as I ate everything that was not nailed down. Today I have a lunch date with a friend, and another lunch date on Monday. Will try to get back on track and work hard towards a loss for next week. I hope everyone…
  • We all have our down days. I had a really good week, spent time with family and friends, laughed and had lots of fun.... how ever my eating did not have a good time.. I ate far to much, and don't even want to step on the scales tomorrow morning. I will, but I don't want to.. But I have to face up to what I have done this…
  • I am from Newfoundland, but I live in New Brunswick, on the east coast of Canada. Welcome.
  • When I think about the challenge "3 things about your body I like". I think of outward appearances and that I greatly lack in. I don't like one single thing about my outward body let alone three. I was not blessed with one good feature. NONE. However, I do like myself, and others seem to like me also. I was blessed with a…
  • I have never been to Hawaii, and even though I would love to go some day, I would choose LV first, I just love Vegas. You would get a great work out just walking the strip each day and it would be fun also.. Bring good footwear. I am sure you will have a blast no matter where you go.. Have fun.
  • I am 61 years old, and 5ft 3in, I was 210 when I started this journey a year ago, Went down to 175 and then kind of fell off the wagon. Went to NYC last Nov, for a week and gained a few lbs. Then of course Christmas was just around the corner, so could not pull myself back up, I found out about this site a few months ago,…
  • Hi everyone, I think it's a great idea to extend this challenge. This is my first challenge on MFP, and am soooo very happy to part of this great group of people. It gives me motivation and I think I work harder at it because I don't want to let the group or myself down. This week I only had a 1.5 weight loss, but it was a…
  • Is everyone ready for the scales tomorrow? I see that a lot of you are having TOM visit you. I know that's no fun, but I don't have that, so when I am up I can not blame it on TOM and know that in a few days weight will adjust its self. I have tried hard to stay off the scale this week but I have given into temptation the…
  • Hi everyone. Hope the week is going well. My daughters birthday today (39) and I just had to have a piece of birthday cake. I also had a few other treats today, and am over my 1200 calorie goal by a couple hundred. I also did not get in a work out. I know that MFP takes in your job work requirement. How ever I work really…
  • I don't know if it's right or wrong, On the internet you can read hundreds of different opinions. It all works for someone. Low carb, Low fat, counting points, counting calories, Zig Zagging. We can only hope to be able to find out what works best for us. I personally am like an Alcoholic so for me cheat days/ meals or…
  • Hi all; Hope everyone had a good week. I think the weekend away did some damage toward my 3 lb goal weigh loss, However I recovered enough from it to manage a 1lb loss. I was so afraid I was going to be up, and I would have gone into a state of depression had I gained back all I lost last week.. So today I am a very happy…
  • Hi everyone, looks like we all had a great week. I am hoping I did not do to much damage this past weekend as I was out of Province with my hubby. It is so hard sticking to your routine when you are eating meals out. Trying to get my water in. I did get through the challenge with out any soda or candy. I walked on my…
  • Sorry but your pictures did not show up. But I am sure you must look simply wonderful. Keep up the good work.
  • Look at your basic calories. Mine is 1200. Now think of this 1200 as money, you have 1200 dollars to spend today. You can go shopping for your food. A steak is( example as they vary) 500 calories and your loaded potato is 300. that is 800 of your allowance for the day, and the day is not nearly over. So then you have to…
