I average 8:00 on longer runs but tend to drift towards the 8:30 and 9:00 range when I am going over 10 miles (I hope to change this within a year though). Running at a steady 6.7 mph @ 9:10 minute mile I can run a half marathon (13.1 miles) in two hours. Just putting that info out to show how hard it will be to "just walk" 10 or 15 miles a day. Welcome!! I am also starting university for computer science. Sitting in front of the computer all day coding is definitely not conducive to losing weight easily, I would know! But I'll be able to help you out, I've always been pretty good at maintaining my weight and have been doing a lot of studying on diet and nutrition.
