  • I love my eyes and smile and that I have an hourglass shape ;)
  • I keep reading this over and over and while the nutritionally knowledgable part of my brain KNOWS this and it's something I've actually practiced in the past (even on advice of many dietitians I've worked in the same office with), one day of increased calories shows a GAIN on the scale the next day!! With me being so close…
  • Keep up the good work!! It takes time to change the way we think of ourselves in the mirror! For the longest time, I continued to see the "fat" girl in the mirror no matter what. With this slow loss, it's given me the chance to get use to the smaller "me" slowly and not see that fat girl anymore. Still an adjustment when…
  • I crave the salty sweet stuff. I get the Special K Cracker Chips, the sour cream and onion are more salty to me. I also find the 100 Calorie packs of the cookies by Keebler or nabisco and get the chocolate ones. That helps with the craving for salty sweet which I like chocolate for my sweet.
  • For work, I tend to wear nylon hipsters that pretty much cover my backside. I wear scrubs and there is nothing worse than some old guy staring at your butt cause he can see your pantyline and knows you're wearing bikini. Plus, I need to be comfortable with my job. Night time, I wear cotton hipsters cause they're comfy.…
  • I'm sorry, this made me totally laugh out loud!!!!!!! I just can't imagine!! LMAO
  • Our downstairs neighbors complain about my toddler (2 year old) grandson who tends to run rather than walk! They've said something several times and I tell them, "if YOU can find a way to get a toddler to not run, be my guest!! Otherwise, move to the second floor like we did because I do not like living below someone!!" So…
  • You are right! And there is a part of me that knows this! But when I was so overweight, I lost it slowly and a pound gained or not lost here or there didn't seem to matter. As I am so close to my goal, it FEELS like 1 or 2 pounds is so much more than when I was heavy. I know that sounds crazy. But at 245#, a few pounds…
  • Thanks for all the input!! I appreciate all the tips!! :)
  • Yeah...that's me!!! I know it's stupid but I freak out if the scale goes up a pound! I suddenly think I need to cut my calories down! I KNOW I should eat more sometimes. When I was starting out at 245# it was so much easier! But now that I'm almost 20# from my goal, I feel more scared to eat more. I know it's crazy!!…
  • I'm struggling to find my right calorie intake as well! If I go up to 1500, I will gain or not lose at all. But I get stuck quickly if I do 1200. It's frustrating and I'm trying to learn this TDEE stuff too!!
  • Anyone looking for new friends, feel free to add me. I'm in Pearland area, work in Houston. :) ~PJ
  • Great progress!! Taking it 10 pounds at a time!! Keep up the great work!! :)
  • This is along the same lines with commercials for weight loss success stories about women who were a size 12 and now a size 2!! Really?!?? I'd LOVE to be a solid size 12!!!! Show the women who were size 24 (like me!) and now a size 14 (like me)!!!! It's NOT encouraging to see someone go down to a single digit size to me…
  • Hi! Was invited to the group! Thanks! Always nice to have local people to support! ~PJ
  • Awesome!! Keep it up!! Looking great!!
  • There is this rather seemingly "silly" book called He's just not that into you. Yeah, consider reading it. I've even had lengthy conversations with guy friends who confirm things in the book. Just a thought! Luck to you!
  • First of all, stop beating yourself up and do not quit and throw in the towel!! My journey has taken 2 years to get where I am!! In the past, I did lose it fast only to gain it back plus some, several times for that matter! This time, I was determined to take it slow!! The first year, I only lost 20lb!! Then, the second…
  • Thank all so much for the input!! I truly appreciate it! God Bless you all and I will remember you in my prayers!! Hugs, Paula
  • There is such thing as overhydrating! Be careful the intake of water in respect to your usual intake. TOO much water can cause a shift in electrolytes in your body and brain causing problems. If you normally only take in 8 glasses of water, and then suddenly take in 11, it wouldn't be out of the question for your body to…
  • I think the point is in fact that you can not "convert" fat into muscle but that as you gain muscle from strength training you will lose fat. More muscle helps your metabolism to burn the fat more efficiently. Fat doesn't "convert" into muscle, you just lose it. You build the muscle you already have and lose the fat you…
  • Thanks y'all!! Not sure I ever want to do one, just want to see others thoughts. My system is rather sensitive as it is and I'm afraid doing something like a "cleanse" would put me in crampy pain with no good results except lots of trips to the bathroom. LOL Thank you!!!
  • Welcome!!! I love this site too!! Being able to really follow my calories is what ultimately helped me lose my weight!! Just take it slow and have "small goals"....I usually set myself a 10# goal at a time, that way all the weight I needed/wanted to lose didn't seem so overwhelming! Now, I'm getting close to a maintenance…
  • Yes!!! I definitely have that issue!!! I have to really make sure I get my calories and some days I don't even get to 1200 and sometimes not even 1000!!! Work days are the worse because I'm so busy a lot of the time and get to the point I just eat a protein bar and keep moving!! And I'm someone who HATES eating late!!! So…
  • LOL Robin, I think 17 is pushing it! Heck, my daughter will be 17 in September! LOL
  • Wow...thank you!!!!! Really made my day!! LOL Yes, that pic in the pink tank was actually taken Mother's Day, May 8, 2011!! And to think I'm also a Grandma :) Honestly...my secret for looking young....no sun! I have lupus so I can't be in the sun anyway. Not to mention I stopped the "sunbathing" when I was 19 years old! :)…
  • Thanks again for the posts, ideas, encouragement and compliments!!! Helps to get feedback from others!!! God Bless!!
  • I agree...that's why I put ???? on my "Goal Weight" now....really not sure anymore!!
  • I picked 23% because it's in the "middle" for fitness body fat. That may change, I don't really know. Just testing the waters really. While I use to do a lot of weight lifting 20 years ago, I'm not a fitness guru now. Just want to be healthy. Actually, according to the body fat chart on the site I used, 27% is the upper…
  • My issue is I know I carry mroe muscle, I always have thanks to serious weight training I did for a few years in my early 20's!! I did machine weights plus free weight training with my exhusband. From then on, even after I gained weight, if I had my body fat calculated, I was told I carry a lot of lean mass. As for my…
