That's awesome, Crepes! A 3 day binge-free streak is something to be proud of. And I think after that it gets easier.

Thank you for sharing. What she writes does resonate with me.

Hehe I'm not so sure about the wind, but I do like crisp autumn air. To me, the ideal temperature to run is anywhere between 0 and 10 degrees (32-50F), so fairly cool. However, I never dared to run in the dead of winter, when temperatures here average at -15 or -20 (google says that's 5F to -4F) and sometimes drop lower.…

Me: 6 The Binge: 0 Crepes - Sorry you're going through a rough week. I know how upsetting it is. Try to focus only on not binging today, and not on beating yourself up for your mistakes.
-
Dennis - Yeah, I did! I ended up running 6k that day. I had to put in more effort than usual to get the same results, but it felt good to be back on my feet. I will run again today. Good for you, hitting the weights! I think I will do more weight training once Winter settles in and it becomes difficult to run outside.

WillLift4Tats - It's so great that you were able to enjoy yourself this weekend and weren't triggered to binge. And you stuck to your goals yesterday. Way to go! My goal today is to go for a short run at lunch. What with my recent binging and all, I haven't run at all since last Tuesday. So I'm gonna try and go for an easy…

Me: 3 The Binge: 0 After my three-day binge October 29-31, I am glad to have some regained some balance now that I've been binge-free for three days. I am feeling confident that I can make November a good month. The bloat is gone as well, phew! Crepes - You can turn things around! It's not too late. fit4life - Try and keep…

Wow! That's amazing, Dennis!

I hear you. Logging binges is hard, even when no one else will ever see your diary. I used to never log my binges, but I started doing it about three months ago and it really did help. Once you get over the shame, often you will see that things are not as bad as you thought they were. For instance, say on a given week you…

You should do the 5k if you feel like it! You won't regret it. I hear you about the forums. I like this group, but otherwise I don't care for the General Diet forum or any of the other forums basically. It's like you said, it's same-old, same old. And unfortunately, I am not into weight lifting... hehe. I don't care if you…

I get where you're coming from, Dennis. I have a bit of a wider range of "safe" foods, but also a very long list of things I cannot eat, for fear that A) I will automatically gain weight, or B ) I will be triggered to binge. Of course, B tends to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Some of my feared foods are the ones you'd…

Thank you for the encouragement  Final Score for October Me: 27 The Binge: 4 October ended on a bad note for me with three days of binging. Today I am binge-free, finally! Physically, I am still feeling the effects of all that food. I haven't stepped on a scale, but I know I'm carrying 5 or 6 lbs of water weight, on…

October 30 Me: 27 The Binge: 3 Following my large binge on Wednesday (5,000+ cals), I felt extremely defeated yesterday and binged again, although thankfully it wasn't as bad. However, yesterday was the first day in over 100 days that I did not log my calories, did not wear my FitBit, and generally did not care. I find…

October 29 Me: 27 The Binge: 2 Felt alright this morning but then I don't know... I lost my head. I had a really bad binge and as it stands right now I've already eaten over 4,000 calories.

Hand over the petition, crepes! I've been struggling with depression for a long time and I know what you mean when you say "life is hard even when nothing's wrong". What goes on my life does affect the way I feel, but still, I'm blue no matter what. October 28 Me: 27 The Binge: 1

Thanks for sharing! Many of these tips have helped me as well, particularly logging everything (including binges, which is something I never did in the past), home cooking, balanced macros and regular exercise. I also walk a lot (I don't really consider walking exercise, but it is active time and it helps clear my mind).

I think that taking a break from being in a deficit can be helpful, psychologically and physiologically. If you don't gain weight during your break, then it really is not a setback. Do stay mindful of your eating habits and try to keep exercising during your break. Once you reach your goal you'll have to maintain it. Think…

Me: 20 The Binge: 1 Pudding - Glad to see you're doing better! Keep going  crepes - Try to remember how you feel after you binge when you're tempted to do it. I know oftentimes when I want to binge, I lie to myself and pretend that "this time I won't feel like *kitten* afterwards, I'll just enjoy it then stop".…

Yes, I think I will! Crossing the finish line was a blast  I want to do another 10k and improve my time, and I would like to eventually try a 15k. 15k races are fairly rare, though (at least in my hometown). Usually you register either for the 10k or for the half-marathon. I don't know if I'll ever be ready for…
