Check out Dave Feldman's website if you want to learn a lot more about keto and how and why it affects blood lipids. http://cholesterolcode.com/

Find things that are keto friendly that you actually like to eat and then have a bunch of it - bacon, cheese, steak. You want to get yourself off carbs without feeling too deprived. its more important to get over the hump than worry limiting food (that was the sense I got from your emphasis on drinking water)

The whole point of keto is that it is a "special" way to lose weight. The people who do keto believe that there is sufficient empirical evidence and scientific studies to show that a simple calories in - calories out (CICO) model of weight-loss is too simplistic to explain the complex interactions of all the hormones and…

Welcome to MFP. Some on this board are hostile toward Keto. You may want to join the Keto or low carb subgroups on MFP. MFP is great for tracking, but you may also want to look elsewhere for advice (https://www.ketogenicforums.com/)

If you really really want milk try switching to Fairlife https://fairlife.com/ultra-filtered-milks/whole-milk/ its whole milk/full fat but with reduced sugar and increased calcium

first - you're doing weight training - sore muscles are swollen muscles - you may have water weight fluctuations that are hiding other body composition changes. Keep calm and carry on. Second- you have 2 kids - I don't know anybody with young children who's getting enough sleep (which can affect weight loss). Are you…

I like the recipes at https://www.wholesomeyum.com/ My other recommendation is to think about what you like to eat and then look for keto (or often paleo) versions of them - Google is your friend in this regard.

You're only in week 2 of keto - many people take 4-6 weeks to be truly fat adapted. Give it time - keep calm and keto on. Are you testing ketones? Are you sure that your carbs are low enough and that you aren't eating too much protein? My instinct is to eat more proteins and not enough fat and i have to check MFP macros…

Trader Joes sells "everything but the bagel" seasoning that we use on our keto bagels - its also good on other things like just eating avocado with a spoon.

You could go in the bathroom and throw up....now that you've (probably) decided you don't want to go down the path toward an eating disorder, spend a moment and think about whether there was an emotional trigger or were you genuinely physically hungry, and then work at making better choices next time.

Thanks for the kind words everybody. I packed my gym bag this morning and I'm headed there now. I'll take a small victory for today.

My 6 year old had a big movie theater-size box of Whoppers candy that we would dole out a few each day as a special treat as part of his desert. Well he forgot about them over the weekend...but I didn't. At least I only ate the remaining half box - it could have been worse.

Think about whether or not you have any behavioral triggers for binge eating. for me the worst spot in the entire house is at night at the kitchen island with the TV on - if i'm there something bad is going to happen. Also, do you have a plan for what the do when you are feeling like binging so you don't do too much…

I mix it with Newman's lowfat Asian sesame salad dressing, sesame seeds, dried cranberries, and sometimes some mandarin orange segments. Makes a great Asian slaw. I keep it in the fridge and often eat a small bowl as soon as I get home from work to fill me up a bit before dinner.

I look at MFP success stories every day as part of my motivation. YOU are my hero for today. Thank you so much for sharing.

Getting a standing desk made a huge difference for me - even with a lumbar support sitting in chairs is bad for me. Also, a TENS unit (you can find many on Amazon, although I got one through insurance from my chiro) helps a lot at managing pain when its bad.

Happy New Year to you and all the MFP community. Thanks in large part to this site and the good people here, I'm ending 2014 in a much better place than I began it and looking forward to continuing my journey into 2015. I wish you all the best.

Congratulations on getting to the point where people have told you you've lost enough weight - THAT is an accomplishment in and of itself - and I'm looking forward to getting there too :-)

The scale is not your judge - its simply a tool to help inform the rest of your decisions.

I cut up fruits and veggies as soon as I get home from the grocery store. Having precut fruits and veggies displayed in clear Tupperware at eye level in my fridge makes it so much easier and more likely that I make a smart choice when I'm hungry.
