Hi! Welcome! Friends are awesome for encouragement and keeping yourself accountable.

I just tried the website and it gave me about 60 calories less than what I recorded on my treadmill with my HRM, so I'd say that it is close enough. It's better to underestimate your calorie burns than to accidentally overeat because you think you've "earned" it.
-
Very good question. At the end of the day, any count you get for calories burned is a best estimate. That reading from the treadmill is really strange. Most of the time, you'll see people saying that the gym machines overestimate, not underestimate. In any event, the device you are asking about is a brand of Heart Rate…

Further to my earlier reply, I've now looked at your diary and your food choices look really healthy. My recommendations are to get a digital kitchen scale and weigh as much of your foods as possible to get a more accurate idea of your calories in and to get a HRM (that comes with a chest strap) to have a better idea of…

Hi! First, congrats on finishing your first week! Glad you're feeling positive and healthier. I can't comment on your diary because it's not open. My suggestion would be to try to eat back about half of your exercise calories. Your body needs the fuel for your awesome workouts.
-
Wow, huge success! You look happier and healthier and should be so proud of yourself. Congratulations and best wishes on your upcoming surgeries. I'll be keeping an eye out for your blog updates :)
-
Definitely worth it! I've had my Polar FT7 for a little over a month and it's been a great motivator and information source. Whatever type of HRM you buy, make sure it has a chest strap.

My diary is open to friends, I'll send you a FR and you can creep it all you like :)
-
Some people "bump" to add threads to "my topics" so they can read it again later. It also brings the thread to the top of the board so other people will be sure to see it. :)
-
Hey there, I'm on here pretty regularly too and I keep my diary open to friends. I'll send you a friend request. :)
-
That's great! Now just keep planning more healthy meals. It'll get easier.
-
i avoid Chinese Buffet - Mainly because it's hard to track the calories and I don't like it enough to not care about the calories.
-
mmmmmm...bacon. Om nom nom
-
yup.
-
Congratulations! You look so much happier now - and fabulous!
-
Thanks for sharing! Great NSV!

It sounds like you're generally on the right track OP  If you're having issues with your monthly cycle, you should consult your doctor. I doubt going down to 1500 cals per day would affect your period. If you were feeling satisfied at that number, there should not be a problem. And, as the above posters said, please…

You sound so overwhelmed! You already know where to start, and that's right here. I don't know what your daily calorie goal is, or whether you use the one given to you by MFP or if you do the whole TDEE-x% deal, but either way, to loose weight, you need to aim to eat at a deficit. The MFP calorie goal has a deficit…

^ This, plus the ability to access the forums from the App.

I would follow what the fitbit says. It is supposed to be tracking everything you do, including sitting at your desk.
-
^ this. Have a little bit of chocolate, if you can fit it into your day. A sensible serving now will keep you from overindulging later.
-
Your friend may have been hacked! :frown: This happened to me recently on Twitter and my account sent all of my followers a PM about some Dr. Oz belly fat reducing scam. It was so embarrassing.
-
Pretty sure this post is one of the funniest parts of my day.
-
bahahahahahahahaha:laugh:

Hi, I think all of us can benefit from as much support as we can get. When so many things tempt you off course throughout your day, it's nice to have the MFP community to remind you of what your long-term goals are. Sending you a friend request :)
-
Motivational and supportive people are key. So often we feel like the people in our lives are more into enabling our unhealthy habits. I love the MFP community because people understand and are honest with you. Sending you a request :)
-
Hi, we can all do with more motivation and positive people in our lives. sending you request :)
-
I'll send you a request!
-
I've been laughing at this entire thread. Sending you a request presently.

you just made me LOL in my office. thank you! - was supposed to be a "quote" and reply to Lumpyspaceprincess1's post above.
