@stoshew71 Love the "white and gold" outfit. lol @_nikkiwolf_ Great pictures. When I lived in SF there were a ton of crazy stair cases (along side teh crazy hills!). They are a fun challenge to incorporate into your runs. February ended on a sour note with 4 days of unplanned rest thanks to a stomach flu/bug. Here's to a…

In for 160. And more importantly aiming for no illnesses in March. ;)
-
Awesome! I am happy to hear that your run went so well!
-
Ugh! Sick again which equals day 3 of forced rest. I should still reach my goal based on tomorrow's run but certainly should have hit more mileage. My official goal for March should be not to get sick. Is that even possible? Great job to everyone! I love seeing everyones accomlishments. :)

OP what you have to realize is that most people are using their best estimate at the calorie burn. And to be honest most are using their best guess at calories consumed as well. People aren't trying to be deceptive. They either know they are estimates and adjust accordingly or they won't loose weight and thus make the…

I am up around 5:45am and out the door for a run by 6. I layout my clothes/shoes the night before and have my espresso ready on the stove top to make. All I have to do is pee, change, brush teeth, and down my espresso. Do you have a work-out buddy that would be willing to meet you in the am? It definately helps knowing…

Very true - everyone is different with what works for them. I was just concurring that if she hasn't tried it before it might be worth a shot at trying. Or perhaps another hydration drink if Nuun doesn't sit well with her (skratch, G2, etc).

I 2nd this. I was getting headaches after my longer runs last fall. I switched to drinking Nuun on my runs and it has made a huge difference for me.

@bsalrye & @cooter_mom I love the snow pictures! I am happy not to have to run/hike in it but I love seeing the pictures. @ohhim Great race! @Daisy471 - trail running is highly addictive. I think after my marathon this spring I am going to sign up for a few more trail races as well. I ran just 2 miles yesterday as a…

20 miles today. Felt great and managed to do my las 2 miles faster than the first 18. We soaked in the ocean after which I think helped significantly. No soreness(yet ;) ). 106.5/120 goal I love seeing all the pictures. Even the treadmills and treadmill selfies. :)

Ran 5 miles with my mom today. Brings my total to 86.5 out of 120 mile goal.

Oh like others have said, the quality of calories really make a difference. I have been extra hungry the last few days and when I look back on my diary this last week I realized I have been slacking on my protein intake.
-
Personally I am taking a maintenance approach rather than trying to lose weight while marathon training. I am logging every day to make sure I am not over eating while being careful of not being in too large of a calorie deficit heading into my long runs. I focused quite a bit the last couple months on getting as close to…

I have to strongly disagree with this. Some babies still need nutrition at night. Plus, not all parents and doctors agree with sleep training. The OP came on here for ideas for fitness, not for everyone to tell her what she should be diong with her baby's sleep habits. I completely understand being exhausted. If you can…

@daisy471 congrats on a great run! I spent one year running in the snow/wind/cold before I promptly moved myself back to sunny CA. I am very impressed with you, LoneWolfRunner, Fabnine, etc who are out there on a daily basis. @shanaber your doggie is adorable. I ran 5.5 this morning which brings my total up to 81.5 out of…

@SLHysell - very scary! I am really glad you are ok and were able to walk away unscathed. I agree that you should report the incident. I am really behind reading up on everyone's adventures. I will catch up soon. For now here is my mileage: 2/1 8 8 2/5 4 12 2/7 16 28 2/10 6 34 2/11 5 39 2/12 7 46 2/13 4 50 2/14 12 62 2/16…

Love this! And yes I laughed out loud as well. :) I can definitely relate. I am planning on rocking a pair of running shorts tomorrow that up until now I have been too self conscious to wear as they are bit on the skimpy side. Fabnine - you always have such great words of encouragement and motivation. Way to be awesome!

4 miles today which brings me to 50/120

@honunui - Love seeing all of your pictures. It is fun to see where eveyone runs. @gabbo34 - some days are like that! For no apparent reason they just suck. Great job getting something in though. Date Miles Total 2/1 8 8 2/5 4 12 2/7 16 28 2/10 6 34 2/11 5 39 2/12 7 46 I did 4*800s during my 7 miler today. I hit my times…

Ok, that makes sense. 20 will take me right around 3 hours as well.
-
Thanks all for the input. That all makes sense. I will start increasing my mid week mileage to try and get closer to the 30-35% range. Knowing myself I think that would be a realistic goal. Also, would it make sense to add into my week a "recovery" type run on the Sunday after my long run? A slow, easy 5-6 mile run.

We are doing a Tex-Mex pulled chicken in the crock-pot. With roasted brussel sprouts on the side. It's a new recipe which me modified a bit. Hopefully it tastes good!
-
Wait - do you run at all right now? Or is this a "start from scratch and run 26.2 miles by July" type thing. If you are truly starting from scratch I would strongly suggest signing up for a 10k or half marathon rather than a full. I understand wanting a fitness goal however you are setting yourself up for being miserable…

Feeling better and ready to get in some more runs this week. Hill run today. Date Miles Total 1-Feb 8 8 5-Feb 4 12 7-Feb 16 28 10-Feb 6 34 Total of 34/120 goal. A little behind since being sick last week.
-
I finally got some mileage in this week. 16 miles. Crazy wind but the rain was nice enough to just drizzle on occasion. It is now blue skies and 60. So much for the crazy storm we were supposed to get! Total 30/120 goal

I am off to a slow start this month as I have been battling a nasty cold. I took 3 days off but managed to run 4 miles this morning with the 5 year old in the jog stroller (she woke up as I was leaving and wanted to keep me company). 02/01 - 8 miles 02/05 - 4 miles 12 total/108 remaining
-
Started February with 8 miles. 5 easy with a new moms running group and then 3-4 moderate with my mom. All while pushing the 2 year old in the running stroller. I was impressed she did fantastic and ended up falling asleep on the 2nd run. 112 miles remaining.

10.25 miles today for a January total of 132 miles! Goal was 100 which I fell short of the last two months. I am amazed that I accomplished that much running. And truly inspired by all of you. See you in February!
