I chose the weight I was at before I had an operation a couple of years ago (it's been all downhill from there!).
-
It's not you putting on weight: it's your clothes, which have had a pizza addiction for years.
-
Wow, my jaw just dropped to the floor! Brilliant!!!
-
I've gained over six pounds between 7am and 7pm today :D
-
Intervals! I do 30 secs on, 60 secs off five times and then 3mins on, 3 mins off for as long as I can manage. It's done wonders for my fitness. (Edit: That's on the stationary bike)

I believe it largely comes down to how your hips are constructed - some people just don't get one.
-
I started investigating the same thing yesterday :) I think I am going to go for a couple of 'confidence-building' lessons before starting.
-
I love it. I remember watching the first one (three years ago?) with great trepidation as I thought it would be hugely sensationalist, but it isn't.
-
I imagine it's a bit like doing shuttle runs, which in my experience are evil!!

Oh goodness, I really MUST start swimming...at the back of my mind I know it would do me the world of good, and I don't quite have the confidence to do it (there's a pool about five minutes walk from my house!?). I've been able to get out and start running in the street, so I suppose the next step is to get a few more…
-
Oh my goodness, what a transformation! I think I'll be trying this!

A whole world awaits... - Walk/run outside - Wii Fit - Weights (I do mine in front of the TV) - Interval training (very distracting) - Swimming - Set up your own mini-triathlon - Team sports

This. This is great advice. This is my mother. She did this with me this afternoon. But I'm still feeling proud of myself for going out running early this morning. I think I have finally got that what I do about my own health has nothing to do with her. Ugh! 'Finally'? I'm 32!
-
I'd not really seen mine until I put on a pair of shorts yesterday I'd not had on in a month, and realised they were actually looser. I think my thighs must have been way bigger than I remember!!
-
OH WOW was my reaction!!
-
I just bought some 20kg dumbbells (they have 2x 3kg and 2x 1.5kg plates each). They don't take up much space and allow me to do all kinds of strength exercises.

After reading this I just want to change my username to 'Rice Police'.

To be fair you probably don't 'need' it, but I've found it helps my muscles recover from exercise. I ache far less the next day, which is never a bad thing!:D
-
I've heard the same thing but I'm not convinced either - movement is movement. It's very hot here today and I tried running, but only managed a few minutes. I went on the stationary bike instead and did intervals, and it seems to go far quicker. I would suggest (and I am a beginner, so other may have much better ideas):…

Last night I made them with chopped olives, balsamic, cayenne pepper, flat-leaf parsley and dijon mustard. The recipe said capers as well but I didn't have any!
-
I used to hate it - now it's like a free form of entertainment :D I love seeing the numbers go down and up, seeing what makes it do either...I found out that I put two pounds on if I do any serious leg exercise, but three comes off again 48 hours later! It's turned into a bit of a game LOL

Wii Sports Resort. Sword fighting, boxing, bowling, imminent muscle exhaustion :D
-
Second the fitting. Best thing I ever did.

I've just done this (what an increase from last week!?): Ran for seven minutes with the sun out: felt like I was going to die. Sore throat, couldn't breathe properly, horrendous. Waited 20 minutes Ran for seven minutes without the sun out: far easier. I can't believe the effect heat has on me. It's almost embarrassing.

I'm trying running again tonight :-S
-
These are mine...it's not a REAL running shoe if it doesn't catch your eye...right? ;-D http://www.sweatshop.co.uk/mizuno-wave-inspire-9-women-s-running-shoes-ss13-1806.html

Mizuno (and boy can you see me coming in them!).
-
I just do various little exercises in front of the TV. I bought myself some light-ish weights, and do anything that's easy to fit in a small floor space, along with some bodyweight exercises. Sometimes I jog on the spot, anything to keep moving really.

Welcome to the first day of your (much better) life!

You look fantastic!! Well done Sir!
