Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. Rather unexpectedly I've gone down to 8st 13lb today - pounds are like buses it would appear!! :D

Ditto on the shoes. Also...might sound weird...but at first, slow down. More than that. Even more than that :D

Excellent, well done!!

Not gonna lie: I don't track it. If I do have loads of pizza, which doesn't happen that often, I just round up to the maximum calories for the day and forget about it...

The one thing missing from your post is exercise - do you exercise at all? (I can eat 1800 calories a day, but only if I burn some of that back off again to create a deficit. )

Cheshire here.

I had to face this and the truth is that nobody really cares :) You see all sorts of people in all sorts of clothing and in all kinds of states around here. I used to be completely shot after 200 metres - I ran seven miles last week and I have never regretted getting over that 'embarrassment' hurdle. When I am trying to…

Some of Jillian Michaels's workouts are on YouTube and they work very well. If you are willing to buy a DVD, her Beginner Shred is excellent.

Yes, 'slow down' is the best advice I could give anyone!

I also have this - I also find running helps. Topiramate made me so depressed I had to come off it. I am experimenting with magnesium/calcium, Q10 and so on.

Excellent!

Thank you, that REALLY made me laugh!

I've just bought one as it was a bargain off Amazon (£20!) - never had a computer game insult my weight before haha. But I did enjoy the ski jumping!

Absolutely definitely. I went from not running to 10 miles in about three months...somehow!

Exactly my thought!

Leslie Sansome! I had what was thought to be a TIA at 32 (although it turned out to be hemiplegic migraine). Leslie's videos helped me back into moving and going at my own pace.

My vote is for Sports Direct. I really like the Karrimor X-Lite running gear.

I gained two pounds overnight yesterday after doing some circuit training. It will fall off again, and probably with more, providing you are counting properly.

Sadly, I was really unwell from the 16th and had to go on two sets of antibiotics. I lost three pounds as I couldn't eat properly, and still can't :( Those three pounds actually took me to a notional 'healthy weight' by the dreaded BMI. It wasn't how I wanted to do it for obvious reasons, and it was rather bittersweet to…

Thanks everyone! I have done a small amount of lifting - just some free weights to supplement running and walking. I'm very glad I bought them as it really does seem to make a big difference.

Humidity absolutely finishes me, so badly so that last year we had one particularly humid day (96%, I think it was) where I managed about 500 metres before I realised I had no chance!! Up until then I'd been running with no trouble at all. I would reiterate the advice about finding somewhere less humid to run for a while…

Ha! Love it!

Ran 4km

Congratulations!!

Goodness, no, go for it!!

Hi everyone, I don't think I've ever introduced myself but I have Stage 1 endometriosis mixed up with hemiplegic migraines. Both are miserable conditions and the only thing I've ever found helped was being put into artificial menopause. My GP is trying to find someone who is willing to take the risk of doing it for longer…

Just beat me to it there :-) My feet have never hurt in any shoes, but my left knee and hip flexors certainly have...
